Abstract
Das Kollektiv kann nicht anders als auf seine ambige Ontologie hinzuweisen bzw. diese zu wiederholen und immer wieder zu Tage zu fördern. Es muss sich formen, sich als Kollektiv verstehen und darstellen. Zugleich muss es sich abgrenzen; es formiert sich durch ein Zusammenkommen von 'Individuen', die sich von anderen Zusammenhängen entfernen und 'das Kollektiv' bilden. Sowohl treten die Individuen aus einem Kontext heraus als auch muss sich das Kollektiv von anderen explizit oder implizit sich artikulierenden Zusammenkünften unterscheiden. Das Kollektiv bildet sich sowohl in Relation zu als auch in Abgrenzung von anderen Zusammenkünften bzw. Individuen. Die Ambiguität des Kollektivs ist keine nachträgliche Qualität, sondern ein inhärentes Charakteristikum, das entsprechend sein Da- und Sosein, seine Form und Handlungen unausweichlich prägt.

Abstract
This article reflects upon a personal experience deriving from the juxtaposition of the Attis Theatre workshop that took place in Athens, in July 2015, and its socio-political context, namely the events surrounding the country's vote on the new deal with its creditors and the mass migration from countries of west and central Asia to Greece. Focusing on the journeys between 'outside' and 'inside', the ­article specifically explores different temporalities, how they emerged, how they corresponded with each other, how they clashed. Viewing the strategy developed by the workshop and its wider impact as a metaphor for an ethical stance trespassing the limits of its aesthetic context, I outline the possibility of theatre as a timespace that changes everything.

The focus of this article lies on the recent history of the Hellenic Festival, discussing the so-called new phase after 2006, when Giorgos Loukos took over as artistic director. While the Festival claimed an international profile promoting collaborations with major European festivals and theatre companies, its policies had to go through restructuring due to the raging economic crisis. The years from 2010 to the present marked a rupture with previous discourses and politics, turning the Festival into a topos of transformation and fluidity which seems to elude certain conditions of production and reception pertaining to its past history. The article presents an inquiry into the official policies as much as the artistic practices which constitute this topos, while also mapping out the emergent trends which produce its particular dynamic.
