The article attempts to interpret violence as a struggle against death, carried out by its own means. In emancipating himself from dependence on nature, man generates in his creative ?lan his own universe of socioculture, equivalent to the natural world. Death, however, cannot receive any constructive substitution, trampled by death itself. Violence in our social life prevents the negation, with which the presence of the Other threatens us. By confron?tation with the Other, we reach our final frontier.
The article investigates Russian economic thought, the existence of which in modern domestic literature remains debatable. The author presents arguments of both sides in this dispute and argues that it is possible to view Russian economic thought of the late XIX - early XX century as an independent thought school in broad sense unified not so much by common creative principles as by specific scientific methods. Drawing on interdisciplinary approach, the article presents a comparative analysis of methodological and worldview characteristics of Russian school and Germany historical school. Of the determinants of Russian economic thought the author identifies two systemic elements-syncretism and philosophical orientation that embed it in the overall cultural context of the Silver Age.
Der Bericht erhellt die Hintergründe zum Rücktritt des bisherigen Gründers und Vorsitzenden der Demokratischen Partei Rußlands, N. Travkin, auf deren VII. Parteitag. (BIOst-Rgl)
How much coal will India need to transport in future and is the rail network poised to handle that requirement are two important questions for the emerging economy. To find answers to these questions, this study creates a distribution model of coal freight traffic on Indian Railways, analyzing the sufficiency of infrastructure for future economic needs. Using data on spatial distribution of coal mines, coal traffic volumes and rail sectional capacities, this study creates sectional capacity maps as main visual tool for analysis. Sections with bottlenecks are identified for next ten years' coal transport need of the country. The simulation done in this study finds 15% under-delivery for the 900mT coal demand in the country by 2030 due to transport bottlenecks. Based on this analysis, the article presents the conclusions on possible influence of existing conditions of coal transportation on India's economy in the long-term period and also considers the role of dedicated freight. The Editorial Board asked scholars specializing in social and human sciences two questions regarding jointness – the focus of the journal Koinon. We were in particular seeking their views on, firstly, the state of being-in-common of human existence in the present-day world and the most urgent problems that complicate the collectivity and cohesion of human communities today. Secondly, we wanted to know their opinion on the significance of the concept and the problem of jointness in their research field. The editorial board received answers that differed not only in subject-field specifics but also in methodological approaches and even individual psychological colouring, emotional tone. Prominent representatives of various social and human sciences (philosophers -historians of philosophy and philosophers of culture, anthropologists, ethnologists, political scientists, historians, and psychologists) responded to the questions raised by the editorial board. All the respondents noted the importance of jointness for their professional work. At the same time, each respondent outlined his/her vision of the issue, which resulted in a mosaic – of course, incomplete, unfinished, but very revealing and interesting – of many problems that people face in the process of living together, from which an image of the dramatic common life of modern humanity with its contradictions, difficulties, but also eternal aspirations of social harmony and fruitful cooperation of people, social groups, ethnic groups, states, hopes for their finding, ensues. And this reality-as the answers reveal – is a decisive factor determining the diversity of research interests in modern social and human sciences. But it is also the need for co-creation and interdisciplinary dialogue of subjects of various social and human sciences, supporters of different worldviews and methodologies.
