Objetive: Evaluates and compares phases of stress and coping of family members of patients in an ICU of a hospital in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul. Method: Quantitative, analytical, descriptive, transversal, with 22 families. To collect the data was used demographic data and "Symptoms of Stress Inventory", plus an open question as to cope with the stress experienced. Results: Most are women, married, with children and low education. As the evaluation of stress, the vast majority were in middle or late phase stress and the coping strategy most frequently mentioned by relatives of the patients was "pray, ask God for help". Conclusions: Important for nurses to accept and follow the patients' families so that they feel equally cared for.
Objective: To Know the experiences of adult patients hospitalized on the use of nasogastric tubes or nasoentérica Enteral Nutrition. Method: Qualitative, descriptive, involving eight patients. Results: Information obtained from the subjects who joined the research emerged from an analytical category that talks about the condition of using the probe of positive adaptation, discomfort, loss of taste, food monotony, loss of autonomy, thirst and dry mouth. Besides these, it was reported that denote feelings suffering, despair, grief, shame, embarrassment and rejection. Conclusion: This study may contribute to professionals and students in the health area, to reflect and enhance the service to users of probes.
ABSTRACT Objective: analyzing health conceptions of users of a Family Health Strategy and the interface of these with the actions of education and health promotion. Method: a descriptive study of a qualitative approach performed in a Family Health Strategy in the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, with three families. The information obtained was analyzed according to precepts of socio-anthropological studies, ranging on four principles: ethical, ecological, political and pedagogical. Results: users with low educational level and family income. The concept of health is subjective; it emerges from the experiences of the respective subjects. Relate disease to lack of self-care, inability to perform activities of daily living, combined with pain. They are unaware of the existence of health education activities in the respective unit. Conclusion: recognizing the daily life, living conditions, social aspects, and cultural users is important to implement health promotion actions. Objective: to characterize chronic renal users who do hemodialysis in a Nephrologic Unit in a city in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul and to relate physical and leisure activities according to perceptions regarding the evaluation of their health in general. Method: quantitative, analytical, descriptive, cross-sectional research with 77 renal chronic users in hemodialysis program. Data was collected from April to July/2010, after approval of the Ethics Committee, Opinion 02780243000-09. Instruments: sociodemographic, physical activity, leisure, health assessment - KDQOL-SFTM. Data analysis using descriptive statistics. Results: the majority are men, married, 45,5% elderly, low education, 64,9% practicing physical activity, 61% of leisure, 37,7% need help with everyday activities. At the intersection of the variables "leisure" and "health assessment", out of 61,0% that realize it, 33,8% rated health as "good" and 24,7% as "regular". Conclusion: the performance of physical activity and/or leisure contributes to quality of life, allowance for qualification of care, prevention and health promotion.
Objective: Evaluates the personality of Administration students at night of a University in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul, looking from the identification of personality traits and indicative of disorders of it. Method: Quantitative, descriptive, conducted from April to June of 2010. It used a sociodemographic questionnaire and a neuroticism scale factor – it investigates vulnerability, psychosocial disturbance, anxiety and depression. Results: The prevalence of leisure activities, that are related with welfare and quality of life. In the personality evaluation was found that most of the students showed expected scores in the four dimensions evaluated, what means that they do not show disorders symptoms. Conclusion: A large percentage of students showed scores that were not expected in the four dimensions evaluated, indicating that important symptoms are experienced eventually
Introduction: Access to water in sufcient quantity and quality, compatible with the potability standard established in the legislation, is a fundamental human right. The lack of universal access, as well as basic sanitation, generates social and economic impacts. Objective: To identify in the scientifc literature what has been shown about the qualityof water intended for human consumption, distributed collectively in Brazil. Method: Integrative literature review carried out with 28 studies selected from the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Portal of Journals of the Coordination for the Improvement ofHigher Education Personnel (CAPES) from August to September 2019. Results presented descriptively and in the form of tables and fgures. Results: Two categories were obtained: 1. Environmental factors that interfere in the water quality – nonconformitiesas to what was recommended were related to anthropic actions in the environment; 2. Water quality regarding to potability standard and surveillance – there were similarities between microbiological parameters, fluoridation, turbidity. Conclusions: Few studies have been found on surveillance of the water quality intended for human consumption, especially with an approach to action in Brazilian states and municipalities and these reflect difculties in complying with some parameters recommended by the legislation regarding water quality. ; Introdução: O acesso à água em quantidade e qualidade sufcientes, compatíveis com o padrão de potabilidade estabelecido na legislação é um direito humano fundamental. Objective: to evaluate stress and coping among relatives of patients in the perioperative cardiac surgery. Method: it is a quantitative, analytical and cross-sectional study developed in a postage hospital IV, with 53 relatives waiting in the waiting room of the surgical center. Data were collected between March and April 2013 through a socio-demographic questionnaire and Symptom Inventory of Stress and Coping Inventory of Jalowiec. A Research Ethics Committee, approved the research project, number 198.527. Results: 60% are women, aged between 18 and 58 years old, married, with children, catholic, most of them daughters of patients. As for the stages of stress, 60% were in the intermediate phase and the majority used the sustaintive coping style. Conclusion: the results may support health professionals - researchers and managers - and mobilize integrated actions towards qualified assistance in the perioperative, with emphasis on care to patients and families.
