The presentation deals with the use of aesthetic elements for political protest, both in political actions themselves as well as in the photographies of these actions, regarding how these two sec|ions influence each other and what are the consequences of the use of aesthetics for the whole movement. The lstanbul Gezi park Protests gained attention allover the world due to their high use of aesthetic e|ements both in public and digital space and moreover the interaction of these two sections. ; Bu çalışma estetik unsurların siyasal protestolar için kullanılmasıyla ve politik eylemlerin fotoğrafları kadar bu eylemlerin kendileriyle de ilgilidir. Bunların birbirini nasıl etkilediği ve tüm toplumsal harekette estetik öğelerin kullanımın sonuçları nelerdir meseleleri ile ilgilenir. İstanbul Gezi Parkı protestoları hem kamu alanında hem de dijital uzamda estetik unsurların yüksek oranda kullanılmasından ve bu iki alanın birbiriyle etkileşim içinde olmasından ötürü tüm dünyada dikkatleri üzerine çekmiştir.

This article argues that the growing variety of new journalistic organizations and their diversification beyond the traditional newsroom may offer a deeper and broader understanding of change and innovation within journalism. Newly emerging organizations play a multifaceted role in journalism: They are both drivers and results of change; they serve as indicators of the ways in which the structures of journalism and its production processes are evolving; they reveal industry trends early on and enable longitudinal research. Despite the emergence of non-traditional organizations in journalism, existing studies on these new entities remain fragmented and have yet to coalesce into a sustained research program. Against this background, this conceptual article aims to contribute to the ongoing theoretical progress in journalism studies in three ways. First, it identifies key factors of why organizational innovations happen. Second, it systemizes recent studies exemplifying the plurality of new organizations in journalism according to different levels from organization studies, including the field level, the level of organizational populations, and the level of the single organization. Finally, the article proposes a research agenda for establishing "organizations as innovations" as a novel conceptual lens for understanding change and innovation in journalism studies.

In the wake of the news industry's digitization, novel organizations that differ considerably from traditional media firms in terms of their functional roles and organizational practices of media work are emerging. One new type is the field repair organization, which is characterized by supporting high-quality media work to compensate for the deficits (such as those which come from cost savings and layoffs) which have become apparent in legacy media today. From a practice-theoretical research perspective and based on semi-structured interviews, virtual field observations, and document analysis, we have conducted a single case study on Science Media Center Germany (SMC), a unique non-profit news start-up launched in 2016 in Cologne, Germany. Our findings show that, in addition to field repair activities, SMC aims to facilitate progress and innovation in the field, which we refer to as field advancement. This helps to uncover emerging needs and anticipates problems before they intensify or even occur, proactively providing products and tools for future journalism. This article contributes to our understanding of novel media organizations with distinct functions in the news industry, allowing for advancements in theory on media work and the organization of journalism in times of digital upheaval.

Der Beitrag untersucht die Rolle der öffentlich-rechtlichen Medienorganisation funk in der Zusammenarbeit mit journalistischen Content Creator, d.h. Medienschaffende außerhalb der eigenen Organisation, die insbesondere Social-Media-Plattformen für die Produktion und Distribution ihrer Inhalte nutzen. Auf Grundlage einer qualitativen Fallstudienforschung zu funk, für die öffentliche und interne Dokumente ausgewertet, Interviews sowie Feldforschung vor Ort und im digitalen Raum durchgeführt wurden, wird gezeigt, wie funk diese Content Creator durch Aufbau, Weiterentwicklung und laufende Unterstützung begleitet. Die empirischen Befunde zeigen, dass funk die Rolle eines Katalysators übernehmen kann, wenn Content Creator von außerhalb des journalistischen Feldes bzw. von seinen Rändern durch die Unterstützung funks in das eigentliche Feld vorrücken können. Ausgehend von dieser Einzelfallstudie erweitert der Beitrag das Verständnis von neuartigen Medienorganisationen und trägt zur Theoriebildung im Bereich der Organisation des digitalen Journalismus bei.
