The level of social development of territorial units in Poland is an important topic in the context of the pursued policy to equalise the differences in regional development. Nowadays, spatial disproportions in development are considered one of the main social problems also in Małopolskie Voivodship. The purpose of the study described in the article involves the comparison of changes in the level of social development in the poviats of Małopolskie Voivodship in the period of 2010–2019 by means of a dynamic synthetic measure. The situation of these poviats was evaluated based on data provided by the Local Data Bank of Statistics Poland, describing 10 selected diagnostic features relating to the following areas: the demographic situation, the labour market, education, standard of living and health protection of the inhabitants. The method of linear ordering of multidimensional objects in a dynamic approach was applied. The volume of changes in the level of development of the poviats was determined on the basis of a dynamic synthetic measure. The results of the study indicate that in all of the poviats, a significant decline was observed in the value of the synthetic measure describing the demographic situation and education. On the other hand, the positive aspect is that in all of the poviats the value of the synthetic measure relating to the labour market, living conditions and health protection of the population increased significantly. Consequently, the disproportions between the poviats in the analysed period deepened in terms of the demographic situation and education, whereas the differences in the level of development decreased in the case of the labour market, living conditions and health protection of the population.

The purpose of the article is to find out which group of EU countires determined on the basis of the specific features of the area structure of their farms Poland belongs to. Two aspects of this structure were taken into account: the number of farms in particular size groups of farmland and the area of farmland they occupy. Poland's situation was also presented in the regional context, taking into consideration the variety of agricultural activity. The research was based on data obtained from Eurostat and Statistics Poland for the year 2016. The following groups of farm area were considered: farmland under 2 hectares, 2–5 hectares, 5–10 hectares, 10–20 hectares, 20–50 hectares and 50 hectares and larger. Based on the fuzzy classification method, EU countries were classified into 4 groups according to the area structure of their farms. The results of the research demonstrated that Poland belongs to a group of countries with a high level of fragmentation of farms, jointly with Croatia, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Italy. Only 4 countries have a more fragmented farm structure: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and Hungary. As regards the proportion of the area of farmland concentrated in large farms, it is unfavourable in Poland, also when compared to new EU member states, such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria. In Poland the largest farms, with an area of at least 50 hectares, account only for about 1/3 of the total farmland, which, except for Slovenia, is the lowest percentage in the entire EU.

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie zmian poziomu rozwoju gospodarczego województw w okresie 2010–2019. Utrzymujące się od lat dysproporcje przestrzenne w zakresie rozwoju jednostek terytorialnych uzasadniają potrzebę takich badań, zwłaszcza w kontekście polityki wyrównywania regionalnych różnic rozwojowych. Badania prze- prowadzono na podstawie danych GUS. Zastosowano metodę porządkowania liniowego obiektów wielowymiarowych w ujęciu dynamicznym. Na podstawie dynamicznego miernika syntetycznego, który obejmował 13 wybranych cech diagnostycznych, sporządzono rankingi województw oraz obliczono skalę zmian w poziomie rozwoju województw.
Badania potwierdzają dysproporcje w rozwoju gospodarczym województw. W 2019 r. najlepsza sytuacja pod względem przyjętego zestawu cech diagnostycznych panowała w województwach: mazowieckim, śląskim, dolnośląskim, pomorskim i wielkopolskim, a najniższe wskaźniki odnotowano w województwach: lubelskim, podlaskim, warmińsko--mazurskim i świętokrzyskim. We wszystkich województwach poziom rozwoju gospodarczego wzrósł w badanym okresie, ale skala zmian była nierównomierna. Największy wzrost wskaźnika poziomu rozwoju nastąpił w województwach o najwyższym poziomie rozwoju, w wyniku czego wzrosły dysproporcje między województwami pod względem badanego zjawiska.

Celem badań jest ocena skali zmian poziomu rozwoju gospodarczego województw w czasie pandemii COVID-19, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem województwa wielkopolskiego, które zajmuje w całym badanym okresie stosunkowo wysokie miejsce w rankingu. Badania przeprowadzono na podstawie danych GUS. Zastosowano metodę porządkowania liniowego obiektów wielowymiarowych przy normowaniu zmiennych metodą Strahl w ujęciu dynamicznym. Wyznaczono syntetyczny wskaźnik poziomu rozwoju obejmujący 13 zmiennych diagnostycznych i porównano poziom rozwoju gospodarczego województw w latach 2019–2021 oraz w 2010 i 2015 r. Analiza wykazała niewielkie obniżenie wskaźnika w 2020 r., ale w 2021 r. we wszystkich województwach osiągnął on wartość wyższą niż przed pandemią. Dynamika wzrostu była nierównomierna – zmiany w województwach bardziej rozwiniętych były szybsze niż w pozostałych, co spowodowało pogłębienie regionalnych różnic rozwojowych.

The research on the economic development of voivodships is important in the context of the policy of levelling regional disparities and has been necessitated by the fact the disproportions in the level of the economic development of Polish voivodships have persisted for years. The main aim of this study was to determine the direction and scope of changes affecting the level of economic development of particular voivodships. To this end, the study used linear ordering methods in the dynamic approach. The additional aim, of the methodological nature, was to compare two methods of the normalisation of variables – the Strahl quotient transformation and the zero unitarisation method. The research was conducted on the basis of relevant data from Statistics Poland's Local Data Bank database for the years 2010–2020. The results of the study include the calculation of the synthetic measure of the level of development of Polish voivodships in the studied period, the compilation of the relevant ranking of the voivodships, and the comparison of changes thereof.
The performed analysis demonstrated that all the voivodships developed economically in the examined period, but the changes took place at a different pace and the disparities between them remained. The indicator of economic development grew to the largest extent in the voivodships which were already the most developed in economic terms, i.e. in the Mazowieckie, Dolnośląskie, Wielkopolskie and Małopolskie voivodships. Both of the applied methods of the variable normalisation led to similar conclusions. The differences between them concerned the value of the development level indicator, and affected to some degree the assessment of the scope and direction of changes, along with the assessment of the distance between the objects.
