The bombing of Kosovo by the US & NATO was carried out under the pretext of safeguarding human rights. In reality, these military actions were carried out to protect & extend the investments of transnational oil corporations in the Caspian Sea region. The occupation of Kosovo by the US & NATO in June 1999 exposed their hypocrisy over human rights. When the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) persecuted & expelled tens of thousands of Serbs, Romas, & pro-Yugoslav ethnic Albanians, attacked Serbian monasteries & churches, NATO troops did not intervene. Major military-industrial corporations have pushed for expansion of the role of NATO in order to profit from the lucrative markets in Eastern European nations, & to obtain access to rich resources & cheap labor. The author concludes that the destruction of Yugoslavia under the disguise of human rights & democracy made millions of people aware of the ferocious nature of the US corporate drive for world dominance. 50 References.
