Abstract
This article explores the writing of Vietnamese-American refugee writers Thuy Le and Viet Nguyen. How do their works reflect upon war trauma and loss of home, and on the lives people live afterwards? The article looks at how families share traumatic memories (or not), and at belated understanding of experience.
