Women's fight for the abolition of sexual mutilation

Notes that many Africans, Europeans and Americans who had rejected abolitionist ideas in regard to the practice of sexual mutilation on the grounds that they emanated from women active in the struggle for women's liberation or were basically racist, have moderated their views. Suggests that this is thanks to improved information on these questions and that the campaign to abolish mutilation is now being carried out on an international scale. (Original abstract - amended)
