The article reviews the methodological assumptions and results of in-depth interviews held in May 2020. The aim of the article is to identify various aspects of the population's socio-economic adaptation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. The author uses the tradition of phenomenological sociology, hermeneutics and narrative analysis as the methodology for the analysis of in-depth interviews contents. The content analysis of the interviews allows to identify certain similarities and differences between two groups of respondents, distinguished by the status of employment (employees and entrepreneurs) in terms of assessment of the crisis' impact on enterprises and various businesses, specific of the socio-economic behavior, resources, and adaptation practices. A feature of socio-economic behavior common for both categories is the wait-and-see approach to find out possible prospects of the economy and the labour market. However, respondents in the status of employee are generally characterized by a more confident assessment of prospects of job preservation and income level. Active forms of adaptive behavior are particularly noticed among respondents employed in the area of information and communication technologies. Entrepreneurs tend to combine, on the one hand, a negative assessment of the impact the crisis has on their business, and on the other, the desire to look for new market opportunities, realistically assessing the threats and risks, and to rely on themselves. In the context of the ongoing crisis, the specificity of the population's socio-economic adaptation is associated not only with the status of employment, but also with the industry specifics, an accumulated portfolio of orders, stability of the client base, and social capital.

Impact internationally of a fragmented Soviet Union, particularly during the transition period.

The article describes impact of the pandemic spread, the regime of self-isolation and social distancing on certain lifestyle components of resource-rich Russians living in big cities. The presented results are based on a series of specially held in-depth interviews. The lifestyle was considered in terms of such components as: communication practices, consumer practices, leisure and recreation, vacation. In addition, general assessments of the period since the beginning of the pandemic spread were identified in terms of changes in attitudes towards health, plans for the future, and the government's influence on preventing development of crisis processes. The conducted interviews allow us to draw preliminary conclusions that the introduced regime of self-isolation and social distancing had a rather serious impact on such components of lifestyle as the forms of communication practices in everyday life; leisure and recreation; vacation planning; health-preserving behavior. The numerous problems that the respondents faced as the result of the introduction of anti-epidemiological measures, inevitably caused the growth of negative moods, the intensification of existential fears because of the uncertainty of the situation development in the future. At the same time, the crisis contributed to emergence of new opportunities associated with active development of information technologies, which are among the most important factors in the transformation of the old way of life. If respondents, who are employees at some companies, are more likely to take wait-and-see attitude to the pandemic-related changes, but those respondents, who are entrepreneurs or self-employed, have shown a more active reaction to the changes by improving their business models and diversification of their activities.

The paper examines the current state of Russia's entrepreneurial institutional environment built on W.R. Scott's concept of a three-dimentinal institutional environment (regulatory, normative, and cognitive). The study aims to evaluate the perception of these three dimensions by three groups of respondents: entrepreneurs, non-entrepreneurs and those with entrepreneurial intentions, including the assessment of value profiles of these groups using Schwartz's value inventory. The results of the study support the assumption that the three groups of respondents have different perceptions of institutional environment, and also suggest that value priorities differ depending on individuals' entrepreneurial activity or intentions. Specifically, for current or former entrepreneurs self-sufficiency is of much higher value than security.

On the basis of a set of representative sociological surveys carried out by the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting RANEPA from 2021 to 2023 the article reviews features of Russians' lifestyle in the time period when the period of disadvantage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has been replaced by a new stage of multi-aspect socio-economic instability. Quite a high spread of online consumption established in the post-pandemic period which significantly differentiates socio-demographic groups of Russian people has been revealed. The specifics of consumer practices in conditions of new instability have been shown. The features and dynamics of recreation and leisure practices, subjective satisfaction with which is in the zone of positive assessments, have been studied. However, the problem appears to be the existence of a significant group of Russians who have to adjust models of recreational behaviour with partial refusal from desired ways of leisure time. The results of the analysis show that most of the population has the potential for social interactions which may be converted into assistance and support, mostly on the interpersonal rather than institutional level.
