The study proposes to approach the phenomenon by providing a networking context to Corporate Social Responsibility, the influences it receives from globalization, and the way it influences the bioregional borderland development of Ciudad Juarez and El Paso. The lens of social responsibility serves to examine a return to the private and social contextualization which occurs when an enterprise proactively uses its capacity to invest its resources on the benefit of society. In doing so, it contributes to creating an environment for investment and sustainable socioeconomic and sociopolitical growth by tapping into the support of different stakeholders and by capitalizing on transnational and personal and institutional networks. This study will use social network analysis to study the civic, corporate and governmental sectors in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, and El Paso, Texas, and the proposed actions in the past decade to promote bioregional economic development.
; In the beginning of 21st century, tourism is one of the more important elments in the development of certain geographical areas. I this paper we analyse the relation between tourism, culture and economy, and how all of this subjects are linked to the concept of cultural tourism. Similarly, we present the analysis of the economic impact that this tourist sector culd have on the World Heritage Cities. With this objective, we design a methodology to accumplish this analysis and show an empirical study of the economic impact produced in a city, Córdoba. Furthermore, we plan to make a simulation to the short and medium term of the number of overnights in this city that could be used to plan public politics and private enterprises.

This research provides empirical evidence on the relationships between employee attitudes to safety issues and accident indicators in a Spanish context. The research attempts to review to what degree those attitudes reflect a collective, or shared, climate for safety within a number of organizations. Data were gathered from workers in a number of industries in Valencia (Spain) by questionnaire. A total of 1,234 valid questionnaires were completed and formed the basis for subsequent analysis. Analysis of the attitude dimensions found a similar structure to that found in previous research in other countries, as well as identifying those dimensions shared within groups, more likely to represent safety climate. In terms of explaining accidents, the data showed that variables dealing with the work environment, in particular the presence of Workplace Hazards, and the individual's approach to working safely were directly related to accident outcomes, explaining 19% of the variability in accident history. These variables were, in turn, related to the assessment of safety climate, suggesting that individual attitude variables act as a mediator between climate and accident occurrence. This paper represents one of the few attempts to explain the influence of safety climate, work environment, and individual attitudes on accident outcomes in the Spanish environment, using a theoretical model developed and validated in another European context.

The fact that an increasing number of people and local authorities are affected by natural hazards, especially floods, highlights the necessity of adequate mitigation and preparedness within disaster management. Many governments, though, have only insufficient monetary or technological capacities. One possible approach to tackle these issues is the acquisition of information by sketch maps complemented by questionnaires, which allows to digitally capture flood risk perception. We investigate which factors influence information collected by sketch maps and questionnaires in case studies in an area prone to pluvial flooding in Santiago de Chile. Our aim is to gain more information about the methods applied. Hereby, we focus on the spatial acquisition scale of sketch maps and personal characteristics of the participants, for example, whether they live at this very location of the survey (residents) or are pedestrians passing by. Our results show that the choice of the acquisition scale of the base map influences the amount and level of detail of information captured via sketch maps. Thus, detail base maps lead to more precise results when compared to reference data, especially in the case of residents. The results also reveal that the place of living of the respondents has an effect on the resulting information because on the neighborhood level the risk perception of residents is more detailed than the one of pedestrians. The study suggests that the integration of citizens via sketch maps can provide information about flood risk perception, and thus can influence the flood mitigation in the area.
