Objective: To analyze the contextual factors that influence the performance of nurses in primary health care front for leprosy patients. Method: The present work refers to an analytical essay based on the theoretical framework of contextual analysis, as a source of meaning and knowledge, in which the contextual levels are divided into four interactive layers: the immediate context, context specific and general context metacontext. Results: Contextual levels were presented in the following topics: actions of nurses in primary health care across the leprosy patient (immediate context); nurse's role in the scope of primary health care (specific context); beliefs, myths and fears that underlie the leprosy (general context), and policies that subsidize care for leprosy patients (metacontext). Conclusion: Be better understood phenomenon, identifying the nursing actions directed to the object of study proposed permeate layers interactive context.

Objective: To reflect about the comprehensive approach of nursing based on the theoretical framework of Alfred Schutz. Method: A theoretical essay from the comprehensive phenomenological sociology of Alfred Schutz. Results: Reflections are made on the interpretation of nursing care based on the key concepts of Schutz, with special reference to the care based on the other's typification, which recognizes the everyday lives of individuals, seeking intersubjectivity and establishing a face to face relationship. It reflects, still, about the reasons-for and reasons-why of nursing practice. Conclusion: It is concluded that the typification of nursing practices is reflected in the understanding of an essentially complex profession that is based on care as the main element of its practices.

Objective: to analyze the contextual aspects of blood pressure measurement in clinical practice and understand the factors that determine this phenomenon. Method: Were selected 15 articles in the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and IBECS according with the inclusion criteria: published in Portuguese, Spanish or English, full text available between 2000-2011. For data analysis, used the contextual analysis. Results: In routine care, the blood pressure measurement is not being performed correctly by several professionals. Much of this failures stems from gaps in knowledge about the subject, both in technical aspects, as in anatomical and physiological.The client also interferes in the measure, especially with regard to their emotional state. Conclusion: Despite the auscultatory technique of blood pressure be simple, perceives an inadequacy in its implementation, possibly compromising the values and, consequently, the diagnosis, treatment and control of hypertension.

Objective: characterizing the Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICs) used in cancer treatment, and the role of nursing in this context. Method: it was conducted an integrative review of the literature in the months of june and july 2012, in databases MEDLINE, BDENF, LILACS, SciELO and CINAHL through the crossing controlled descriptors cancer and complementary therapies and complementary therapies and nursing. Results: Obtained 34 studies, being the year 2009 the most expressive of publications, being the United States and Brazil the main contributors. The bio-based therapy is the main PIC used in cancer treatment. It was revealed that nursing acts incipiently this scenario. Conclusion: thus, it is expected to instigate health professionals, especially nurses, to seek new knowledge about the object of study, as well as reflect on the paths needed for the most professional approach of PICs.
