The present work tries to recover the existing tension between Sarmiento and the Enlightened intelligentsia of his time that leads him to make different trips in search of dialogues and "other" sources to consolidate his future vision of the state education system. Among these itineraries, there is his trip to Algeria ("Arjel"), a destination scarcely approached for its local historical and pedagogical analysis. This is how we ask ourselves if it is possible to locate this destination as a gateway to a referential framework and a metaphor for the search for interruption of power with said matrix as the only source of legitimacy. Along with this, we will also make brief references to some political and ideological debates that tried to constitute and contribute, from other positions, to the construction of a Latin American pedagogical thought from another continental identity, exteriority and laterality. ; El presente trabajo intenta recuperar la tensión existente entre Sarmiento y la intelectualidad Ilustrada de su época que lo lleva a realizar diferentes viajes en búsqueda de diálogos y fuentes "otras" para consolidar su futura visión del sistema de enseñanza estatal. Entre estos itinerarios, se encuentra su viaje a Argelia ("Arjel"), destino escasamente abordado para su análisis histórico y pedagógico local. Así es entonces como nos preguntamos si fuera posible ubicar este destino como puerta de entrada a un marco referencial y metáfora de búsqueda de interrupción de poder con dicha matriz como única fuente garante de legitimidad. Las modificaciones y transformaciones globales sufridas a partir de la modernidad, como construcción histórica ligada a la conquista de América, reeditan constantemente una suerte de inequidad y también de "cegueras" redistributivas que trazan con "naturalidad" los horizontes (desiguales) para nuestras existencias. A partir de los estudios descoloniales, la pregunta ética por aquellas alteridades negadas en nuestra historia posibilitaron un camino "otro" de intelección subjetiva: no solo en relación a los procesos fundantes e históricos con los cuales la modernidad impulsó unilateralmente su propio andar, sino, fundamentalmente, en relación al umbral de posibilidades de transformación de nuestro presente y en nuestro futuro. De este modo, los cambios de lógicas que permiten otorgar nuevos sentidos toman precisamente al conjunto de esas alteridades no tenidas en cuenta por la modernidad y constituidas desde aquella "no-identidad" como "el motor descolonial de la Historia". Intentar revisar lo conocido y renombrar lo cotidiano,mediante categorías teórico-políticas que interpelen nuestra historia colonial, contribuirá a comprender la vigente insistencia de la colonialidad del poder; y, a su vez, contextualizar la emergencia de ciertas prácticas políticas, sociales, educativas y culturales que irrumpen inéditamente dando lugar a nuevos procesos de "deconstrucción" de los Estados-Nación con el fin de contrarrestarla. ; The global modifications and transformations suffered from modernity, as a historical construction linked to the conquest of America, constantly reissue a kind of inequity and also redistributive "blind spots" that draw "naturally" the (unequal) horizons for our existence. Starting from decolonial studies, the ethical question about those otherness denied in our history made possible an "other" path of subjective intellection: not only in relation to the founding and historical processes with which modernity unilaterally promoted its own walk, but, fundamentally, in relation to the threshold of possibilities of transformation of our present and in our future. In this way, the changes of logic that allow granting new meanings take precisely the set of those alterities not taken into account by modernity and constituted from that "non-identity" as "the decolonial engine of History". Trying to review the known and rename the everyday, through theoretical-political categories that challenge our colonial history, will contribute to understanding the current insistence of the coloniality of power; and, at the same time, contextualize the emergence of certain political, social, educational and cultural practices that erupt unprecedentedly, giving rise to new processes of "deconstruction" of the Nation-States in order to counteract it.

El presente artículo reflexionará en torno al avance del Neoliberalismo como búsqueda de imposición de un cierto patrón mundial de poder interesado en lograr (más allá de la acumulación de riquezas), que las "miradas vencidas", "doblegadas" de aquellos colectivos y minorías que sufren sus efectos de exclusión, sean naturalizadas y hasta justificadas. De allí que planteamos el concepto de disonancias del existir para graficar los modos de angustia social generadas por aquella racionalidad política. Nuestro punto de partida será entonces llevar a cabo una suerte de análisis genealógico relativo a estas formas de diáspora cultural, social, afectiva pero fundamentalmente colectiva que atentan contra el buen-vivir de nuestros pueblos. Planificar la esperanza desde una Pedagogía situada, comprendida como política cultural y como instrumento de acción para hacer audibles las voces silenciadas, constituirá para nosotros el objetivo fundamental de la nueva agenda de la Pedagogía contemporánea. ; This article discusses the advance of neoliberalism, understood as the political imposition of a certain global pattern of power that constantly requires that the "dominated and defeated gazes" of those groups that suffer the effects of exclusion, naturalize and even justify these impositions and policies as well. That is why we will address the concept of dissonances of Existence to describe the ways of social anguish generated by this political rationality. In this regard we will start with a sort of genealogical analysis relative to these forms of cultural, social and emotional diaspora, that threaten the "Good Living" (or Living Well) of our peoples. Planning hope from a located pedagogy, understood as a cultural policy that gives voice to the voiceless ones, will constitute the main aim for the new agenda of contemporary pedagogy.

The present work attempts to articulate some theoretical issues that will allow us to think of the elements of a critical mode of tension produced between the social place rhetorically assigned to work and the teachers work as well as the world of ideological representations that are real and in an effective form and objectively operates these terms. We believe that despite all transitions of a decade in this new millennium, there are issues related with fundamental issues of gender, class and ethnicity that demands to be addressed and problematized in educational fields. For example, we will take the case of the tragedy of seven teachers who due to their hard work were killed on the Santafesine roads in Argentina. We will highlight the tip of the iceberg that is our point of departure for our reflection and debate on the conditions of teachers and their role in this new conjuncture in our recent history. ; El presente trabajo intentará articular algunas cuestiones teóricas que nos permitan brindar elementos para repensar críticamente la tensión originada entre el lugar social retóricamente asignado a la labor y al trabajo docente y el universo de representaciones ideológicas que, "realmente" –y en forma efectiva– operan objetivamente en dichas condiciones. Creemos que a pesar de haber transitado más de una década en este nuevo milenio, cuestiones ligadas fundamentalmente con problemáticas de género, clase y etnia, demandan seguir siendo abordadas y problematizadas en el campo educativo. La tragedia de siete maestras quienes, rumbo a sus trabajos, perdieron la vida escasas semanas en las rutas santafesinas en Argentina, ponen en "visibilidad" la "punta de un iceberg" que será nuestro punto de partida inicial para reflexionar y debatir acerca de las condiciones docentes y del rol de los mismos en esta nueva coyuntura de nuestra historia reciente.

In this paper, we will try to ask about the relationship between the new social and political logics that took place in the early twenty first century in Argentina and its ways of re translation into concrete educational practices performed by teachers at school. In order to reach this, we proposed a critical hermeneutic approach based on the telling of some experiences and participant observations of many different actors and, also, from the universe of the practices that, throughout the contributions of critical authors, let us identify some underlying meanings regarding particular ways of management at school. In few words, we were interested in try to link the educational processes that took place throughout the recent history at schools and its changes deployed in that specific, complex, social and political context. ; El presente trabajo busca indagar acerca de la relación existente entre nuevas lógicas políticas y sociales que tuvieron lugar a principios del siglo XXI en Argentina y sus formas de re-traducción en prácticas educativas concretas por parte de distintos actores en la institución escolar en aquella especial coyuntura. Para tal fin proponemos un abordaje hermenéutico-crítico basado en el relato de experiencias y de observaciones participantes provenientes de diversos actores del Universo de la práctica con el fin de repensar las mismas a través de diferentes aportes del pensamiento educativo y filosófico crítico. El objetivo propuesto es intentar reconstruir el entramado de significaciones subyacentes inherentes a una determinada visión del mundo educativo desplegada en procesos de fuertes cambios sociales y políticos a lo largo de la historia reciente. ; O presente trabalho procura investigar a relação existente entre as novas lógicas políticas e sociais que tiveram lugar no início do século XXI na Argentina e suasformas de retradução em práticas educacionais concretas por parte de distintos atores na instituição escolar em uma conjuntura especial. Para tal, propomos uma abordagem hermeneutico-crítica baseada no relato de experiências e de observações provenientes de diversos atores do universo da prática, com o objetivo de repensá-la através de diferentes contribuições do pensamento educativo e filosófico-crítico. O objetivo proposto é tentar reconstruir a estrutura de significados subjacentes inerentes a uma determinada visão do mundo educativo desdobrado em processos de fortes mudanças sociais e políticas ao longo da história recente.

En los años 2009 y 2010, aparecen publicadas en nuestro medio académico dos obras de Michel Foucault tituladas: El gobierno de sí mismo y de los otros; y El coraje de la verdad. En términos generales, se abordan la cuestión de la "parrhesía" y el "coraje" como aquella capacidad de hablar franco y del decirlo "todo", en contextos institucionales, aun suponiendo un riesgo para la persona que lo hace. Esto es, la "parrhesía", como una forma de ontología antigua inherente a las prácticas y discursos del decir veraz sobre uno mismo, pero también en relación con una determinada constitución institucional y política. En este ensayo se presentan categorías trabajadas para el abordaje desarrollado por el autor, y articuladas con aspectos ligados con la educación y muy especialmente relacionados con ciertas características inherentes a diferentes modelos de gestión educativa en la actual coyuntura social y política en Rosario, Argentina. Nuestro principal objetivo consiste en observar críticamente diversas experiencias docentes extraídas de la propia práctica para analizar los modos de intervención educativos que se desprenden de ellas, y articularlas a la luz de una serie de categorías teóricas pensadas por Foucault. Esto último, con el fin de fortalecer –y estaurar- los vínculos institucionales allí donde se encuentren dañados y contribuir a una mejora de la calidad y clima educativo, en cualquier ámbito donde desempeñemos nuestras funciones docentes. Two significant Lectures of Michel Foucault have been published in Argentina in 2009 and 2010. We are referring to the Government of self and others; and The Courage of Truth. In few words, we would dare say that we understood the parrhesia and courage as the ability (or way) to speak with the truth (free speech and frankness) in the institutional contexts even when doing that, would represent a kind of risk or danger for people who are telling the truth. That is why the Parrhesia is linked to courage in the face of danger: it demands the courage for the subject to speak the truth (of oneself and regarding with the political context) in spite of some danger. So, in this essay we will try to link some categories taken from those works (the concept of parrhesia and courage) and try to rethink the management at school. In order to do that, we will address and analyze some educational experiences from school, through those Foucault´s categories and try to understand how those concepts really operate, in the educational and political contexts at school.

El presente trabajo indagará en torno a las posibilidades y usos del lenguaje como instrumentos dinámicos que desafían los "usos" de la Historia en el presente. Para esto, nos centraremos en las "distorsiones" gramaticales que utilizan los jóvenes para debatir cuestiones políticas ligadas al campo semántico y a las formas del narrar (y ser narrado) a partir de otras matrices que pongan en duda, la totalidad narrativa de la modernidad. Intentar visualizar e interpretar estas nuevas conexiones, será tarea principal del presente ensayo. ; The present essay asks about the possibilities of the uses of the language understood as dynamic instruments that can challenge the uses of History. In order to do that, we will focus on the grammatical "distortions" that are being used by youths to debate and introduce political issues regarding semantic fields and the ways to narrate (and being narrated) from another differently matrix in the Modernity. La irrupción de la Pandemia puede contribuir a revelar tres dimensiones o características posibles como modos de pensar y pensarnos en relación a las prácticas y a la formación pedagógica: es instituyente; evaluativa y narrativa. En el presente trabajo intentaremos argumentar lo anterior, a la vez que habremos de compartir lineamientos y un análisis de las reconfiguraciones históricas acerca del lugar histórico del docente con el fin de realizar aportes que favorezcan la construcción de una agenda política pedagógica "contra pandémica" y postcolonial. ; The irruption of the Pandemic might reveal us three possible dimensions as ways of thinking (and for rethinking ourselves) regarding Teaching Practices and Pedagogical Training as well: it is "instituting"; "evaluator" and finally, "narrative". So, in this paper we are deeply interested to try to argue it that, at the same time we want to share some lineaments about the historical reconfigurations of the historical teacher´s place. El presente trabajo indaga acerca de la cuestión de la identidad docente e institucional en los nuevos escenarios políticos, económicos y sociales de nuestro medio latinoamericano. Si bien tomaremos como referencia la propia experiencia en investigación en distintas escuelas de Rosario, Argentina, al aludir a los procesos de construcción de la "identidad" docente pensamos la necesidad actual de analizarla a la luz de los intempestivos cambios y de crisis que han venido sucediéndose en el mundo político contemporáneo, fundamentalmente, a partir de la crisis del 2001 en nuestro país. Esto último, con el fin de analizar las distintas articulaciones y modos de proyección en el espacio social y académico en este registro histórico aludido. Preguntas del tipo: ¿cómo sostener la identidad docente en los escenarios políticos y sociales actuales?, ¿cómo se construyen estos procesos en el interior de la comunidad educativa?, ¿cuáles son los factores que intervienen para que la identidad docente sufra un deterioro o proceso de "erosionamiento" institucional? y ¿qué alternativas podemos pensar para repensar, colectivamente, la identidad profesional e institucional en nuestras organizaciones educativas?, constituirán el núcleo fuerte de la presente reflexión. ; This paper addresses some issues regarding the institutional and teacher´s identity in the Latin American context. Taking as reference our own experience as researchers and teachers in different schools in Rosario, Argentina, we will consider necessary to mention that identity needs to be approached in light of the sudden changes that have been taken place in the contemporary political world since 2001 in our country. So, questions like: How can we sustain teacher's identity in a frame of political and social changes?; how these processes can be built within the educational community?; or what can be said about factors which make teachers suffer? And, finally, what kind of alternatives can help to rethink professional and institutional identity in our educational organizations? =, will be the main goal of this reflection.

This year, Argentina is commemorating both the 40th anniversary of the civic-military coup d'état, and the recuperation of institutionalism. From this complex setting, (focused on recuperation of democracy), this work aims atinquiring about certain continuities and ruptures which keep co-existing or "ruling" to the interior of the political re-socialization dynamics, in the institutional political life of many of our Universities. We are basically interested in debating, highlighting and decrystalizing power relations which may be captive, deeply rooted, or constrained to logics from the past or "old bad practices" policies. We are convinced that re-considering them -along with their logical correlates of action, omission, presence and absence in institutional life- keeps being a core issue that could lead to renew our commitment to institutions and democracy ; Este año Argentina está conmemorando su cuarenta aniversario del golpe cívico-militar así como treinta y tres años de la recuperación de la institucionalidad. A partir de este complejo escenario, el presente trabajo intentará indagar en torno de ciertas dinámicas de resocialización política que aún pueden identificarse como matrices recurrentes para habitar la vida política institucional en la Universidad. Nos interesa fundamentalmente debatir, iluminar y descristalizar relaciones de poder, identificar modos de operar allí donde estén cautivas y fuertemente anudadas, o bien estén constreñidas a lógicas heredadas del pasado o de viejas malas prácticas políticas. Estamos convencidos de que repensar las mismas y sus correlatos lógicos de acción, omisión, presencia y ausencia, inherentes con la vida institucional, sigue constituyéndose, hoy en día, un tema de agenda impostergable, capaz de contribuir a saldar deudas y renovar nuestro doble compromiso, con las instituciones y con la democracia.

In this particular COVID time, even in the face of early hopelessness, we set out to think together about our expectations for the world and the kind of life we want to lead in it. Summoned in what José (Pepe) Tranier has coined the "Network of Peripheral Educatxrs", and provided the circumstances were favorable in evading geographical distance, a group of academics from three Argentine State Universities decided to start a few conversations with some of the great names in our libraries. We hoped these important people would help us review the contemporary political, social, academic, pedagogical, and cultural settings. Inspired by the possibilities that became available in these turmoiled times, we aimed high and wrote to people we deeply admire. Such is the background of our encounter with Dipesh Chakrabarty, this amazing Bengali historian who has made huge contributions to Poscolonial theories and Subaltern Studies. Even if his lucidity could have been anticipated by his credentials, the warm, kind tone of our early correspondence was unexpected, and enhanced the interest in the fore coming discussions. We hereby share a conversation we immensely enjoyed: it is worth reading on account of the social and political importance of the contents discussed, the stature of the interviewee and the force of the pedagogies of the affections implied.
