A Fuzzy Associative Data Fusion Algorithm for VTS
The views expressed in this report are those of the author and do not reflect the official policy or position of the Department of Defense or the United States Government. ; An algorithm to fuse redundant observations due to multiple sensor coverage, in order to reduce duplicate track information provided to Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) operator displays, is reported. The algorithm receives inputs from multiple sensors as long as the basic decision criteria elements are provided. The algorithm is tested with real data collected from the VTS system at Puget Sound in September 1996.
