Artykuł poświęcony jest genezie, strukturze i obecnemu potencjałowi Europejskiej Agencji Kosmicznej. Struktura ta konsoliduje projekty państw europejskich, dotyczące badania przestrzeni kosmicznej. W ostatnich latach ESA podejmowała liczne projekty naukowo-badawcze.

This structure consolidates the projects of European countries related to the exploration of space. In recent years, ESA has undertaken numerous scientific and research projects. Despite the powerful base, which is the European economy, ESA has much less opportunities than its main competitor – the American NASA. Space research conducted by ESA is often complementary and auxiliary to NASA's plans. Space agencies from other countries – Russia, China and Japan – are also strong competitors for ESA.

The paper discusses the events of 2005–2015, when the international community decided that Iran's nuclear programme can also serve military purposes, and endeavoured to impose a strict control over this programme. The diplomacy of the European Union was exceptionally active in this area, in particular its three strongest members: France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Given the protests of Iran and its accelerated work within the programme, there emerged the option of confrontation (including military conflict) or compensation offered to Iran in return for its abandoning nuclear ambitions. Over several years of negotiations, concluded by an agreement in July 2015, the EU was able to exert a strong politico-economic pressure on Iran on the one hand, and offer it advantageous terms of cooperation in the field of nuclear research on the other. ; The paper discusses the events of 2005–2015, when the international community decided that Iran's nuclear programme can also serve military purposes, and endeavoured to impose a strict control over this programme. W kilkuletnich negocjacjach, zakończonych porozumieniem w lipcu 2015 r., UE potrafiła z jednej strony wywrzeć silną presję polityczno-gospodarczą na Iran, a z drugiej - zaoferować mu korzystne warunki współpracy w badaniach atomowych. ; The paper discusses the events of 2005-2015, when the international community decided that Iran's nuclear programme can also serve military purposes, and endeavoured to impose a strict control over this programme. ; The European Union has been acting to consolidate arms markets for a decade. These endeavours have been seriously impeded by the diverse interests, security strategies and potential of individual member states. Poland and Greece are among the few EU members that have been increasing their defence expenditure in recent years. They are driven by different objectives when making their arms purchases, though. Poland fears a land confrontation with an enemy possessing weapons of mass destruction and demonstrating disregard for the norms of international law. Greece, in turn, sees a potential enemy in a member of the same military alliance, whose behaviour is more predictable, and where the potential confrontation would occur in the air and at sea. Greece is also at a greater risk of terrorist attacks and uncontrolled immigration than Poland. Poland has a considerable arms industry and is able to produce a part of its military supplies on its own. Greece is required to import weapons to a much greater extent. It is therefore difficult to assume the standardisation of weapons in European markets or any considerable convergence of security strategies implemented by different EU members. ; 8 ; Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej
The coronavirus pandemic that hit the world in early 2020 has weakened Europe very severely. In the first period (January-February), the disease was often neglected, which allowed it to spread rapidly. In March, panic struck European societies, the health systems of many countries collapsed, and governments introduced drastic restrictions on civil liberties and on the functioning of the economy. The European Union, which was helpless in the first period, took steps in the spring to restore the European economy after the end of the epidemic.
