This article sets out presenting the methodological toolbox created for the study of very specific reality: the gathering of oral information in the study of armed conflicts. Taking as a valid reference the oral history technique, we explored new methodological processes that allowed us to reach the lives and stories of the people interviewed more deeply, with a closer approach to their lives, but at the same time respecting and ensuring maximum access and confidentiality. To do this, the oral history methodology was reviewed with the main contributions of feminist epistemology. Thereby, we created ex profeso new methodological processes adapted to study the role of women as violence perpetrators in armed conflicts. Our proposal expands up to 5 different phases with either technical or emotional functions. The validity of this new methodological toolbox has been tested through an extensive research in the armed conflict of the Basque Country (Spain) performing oral histories to 25 women and 10 men.

Introducción: En las sociedades democráticas actuales, los diferentes fenómenos de desórdenes informativos, así como el uso adictivo y perjudicial de contenidos y medios de comunicación, especialmente los digitales, no ha hecho más que incrementar la necesidad de formación en este ámbito. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar la incidencia del posicionamiento político y la tendencia al populismo sobre el índice de alfabetización informacional, la autopercepción de pensamiento crítico (APC) y la capacidad para detectar noticias falsas, en estudiantes de Máster de Formación del profesorado de Educación Secundaria en España; un colectivo esencial en la formación de futuros ciudadanos capaces de usar críticamente la información y los contenidos mediáticos. Metodología: Los datos se han recopilado a través de un cuestionario, aplicado a 716 estudiantes de dicho máster, en 14 universidades del territorio español. Estos datos se han analizado estadísticamente mediante SPSS. Resultados: Los resultados muestran que las personas populistas tienen un nivel menor de alfabetización informacional que las no populistas; también, se observa que las personas que se sitúan políticamente más a la izquierda tienen un mejor nivel de APC y una mayor cantidad de aciertos en la detección de noticias falsas, mientras que el populismo no parece influir en ninguna de estas dos últimas variables. Conclusiones: Se destaca la necesidad de abordar por separado estas dimensiones, en la formación del profesorado, y que la alfabetización informacional y el pensamiento crítico, aunque valiosos, no garantizan una protección completa contra la desinformación y el discurso populista debido a la preeminencia de las emociones en la cognición humana.

El grado de implicación política de los adolescentes es una cuestión abierta que atraviesa el debate académico generación tras generación. Actualmente, esta cuestión se ve salpicada por la irrupción de las redes sociales y los nuevos medios. El presente artículo estudia la vinculación entre el uso de medios, redes sociales y el interés por la política de una amplia muestra de estudiantes catalanes del último curso de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria. La investigación concluye que las dinámicas de participación política y las plataformas de debate de los adolescentes no difieren en exceso de las generaciones mayores y que, por tanto, las redes sociales no parecen haber afectado al grado de implicación política de los adolescentes.

This edited collection brings together original empirical and theoretical insights into the complex set of relations which exist between age, gender, sexualities and the media in Europe. This book investigates how engagements with media reflect people's constructions and understandings of gender in society, as well as articulations of age in relation to gender and sexuality; the ways in which negotiations of gender and sexuality inform people's practices with media, and not least how mediated representations may reinforce or challenge social hierarchies based in differences of gender, sexual orientation and age. In doing so, it showcases new and innovative research at the forefront of media and communication practice and theory. Including contributions from both established and early career scholars across Europe, it engages with a wide range of hotly debated topics within the context of gender, sexuality and the media, informing academic, public and policy agendas.This collection will be of interest to students and researchers in gender studies, media studies, film and television, cultural studies, sexuality, ageing, sociology and education.

El objetivo de este trabajo es establecer desde una perspectiva comparativa un índice que permita determinar el nivel de calidad de los informativos televisivos. Para ello, analizamos una muestra de los telediarios de máxima audiencia de las televisiones autonómicas españolas RTVC (Canarias), IB3 (Baleares), CyLTV (Castilla y León) y NaTV (Navarra). El índice propuesto se obtiene a partir de las diferencias en las representaciones de cada partido político respecto a dos indicadores: el Grado de representación política (R) y Valor de los encuadres noticiosos (E). La combinación de ambos indicadores permite detectar comportamientos anómalos en los niveles de aparición de cada fuerza política, y en el valor asociado al conjunto de encuadres ofrecidos en las noticias que protagonizan. Los resultados obtenidos tras calcular este índice muestran una tendencia general a la representación positivizada de la mayoría de partidos y una sobrerrepresentación positiva de los partidos de gobierno en aquellas comunidades donde no gobiernan en mayoría. Sin embargo, los telenoticias de las comunidades autónomas en las que gobierna un partido con mayoría absoluta muestran en conjunto, valores menores del índice. ; In Spain the media has three levels of organization: national, autonomous, and local. In each autonomous(regional) area there exists a link between the political dynamics of the region and news programs. The objective of this article is to conduct a comparative analysis of the regional television news programs in order to create an index that establishes the degree of quality for each news service. Four Spanish regional channels were analyzed: the Canary Islands' Radio Televisión Canaria (RTVC), the Balearic Islands' Televisió de les Illes Balears (IB3), Castile and León's Castilla y León Televisión (CyLTV), and Navarre's Navarra Televisión (NaTV). Using the acquired data, we developed an indicator for political representation (R) and an indicator for the value of news frames (E). The combination of both indicators allows for the detection of anomalous behaviors when representing political parties. Our results show that there is a general tendency to positively represent all parties and to positively over-represent those parties that are not in the governing majority. However, in regional news programs where one party has an absolute majority in parliament, this tendency is smaller.
