Książka: Katarzyna Mroczek-Dąbrowska, The internationalisation of Polish industries in the context of the new institutional economics: diagnosis and determinants to badawcza monografia porusza bardzo aktualne zagadnienia, istotne zarówno z naukowego jak i pragmatycznego, aplikatywnego punktu widzenia.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The article takes as objective the identification and evaluation of the current state ‑of‑‑the ‑art and tendencies of Europeanisation of European businesses and onceptualisation of modelling the Europe‑anisation process of businesses and their strategies.THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Although initiated in the political sciences, since the be‑ginning of 21st century the research into the phenomenon of Europeanisation has been more and more confidently entering the economic sciences. The study is based on a typical literature review using the conventional research methods of deduction, reduction, synthesis and theoretical modelling.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: On the one hand, the presented discussions have a character of creative synthesis and systematics of the output of economic sciences within the scope of business Europeanisation, which includes three overlapping areas, namely the theory of the firm, the theory of internationalisation and the theory of international entrepreneurship, all of them developed both in economics and in management. On the other hand, the work is an attempt of the conceptualization of the business Europeanisation process in the holistic, inter‑disciplinary representation. The search for universal determinants and mechanisms of business Europeanisation was determined by several purposes which were achieved in the course of the undertaken research works. RESEARCH RESULTS: The article proposes a conceptual framework to analyse Europeanization of a firm in its business environment, with its internal characteristics such as competitiveness and flexibility to focus on the factors, mechanisms, fields and sense of Europeanization.CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Based on the in‑depth literature study and as the contribution the Author suggest that Europeanization strategies are assigned into four fields of an adapted internationalization matrix: Pan‑European, Sub‑European, Euromultiterritorial and Eurominimalistic strategies. ; RESEARCH OBJECTIVE:The article takes as objective the identification and evaluation of the current state-of-the-art and tendencies of Europeanisation of European businesses and onceptualisation of modelling the Europeanisation process of businesses and their strategies. Abstract Rapid internationalisation is a very popular research theme internationally. Verifying the links between familiness of the investigated firms and the accelerated internationalisation among Polish family firms can be very promising. The objective of the paper is to identify the rapid internationalisation path of Polish family firms while going international from the comparative perspective of the familiness. The paper presents the research results of the survey conducted in the turn of 2013-2014 among 216 firms, including 88 family businesses. Based on the calculations we can assume that the average time of internationalisation measured from the establishment is the longer in case of family firms than non-family firms. It can be with the line to the statement that born globals are more frequently met among non-family firms.
Today Europeanization is a notion that is frequently used; however, there is a clear shortage of, or even fragmentariness of scientific knowledge, within this scope. The research into the Europeanization processes were initiated by political scientists in the 1970s, although the notion itself only gained popularity in the 1990s alongside the realization of the commom European market. From that moment, Europeanization is a research problem that has attracted interest in numerous fields and scientific disciplines. David Floyd [2001, p. 109] emphasizes the fact that the majority of market changes which have occurred since the beginning of the twenty-first century took place as a result of Europeanization processes which are explicite, defined as the phenomenon of the regionalization processes. As Neil Fligstein [2009, p. 107] highlights, the "majority of the research concerning the European integration focuses only on political and legal processes (…) which is the reason for which researchers overlook the fact how deep the European economy has been reorganized". There are few works of the kind cited above, nor have there been many recent papers seeking to undertake broad and deep research into the Europeanization processes in both economic (including macro- and microeconomic fields) and noneconomic dimensions.

This article focuses on the significance of research and development (R&D) in driving the internationalization of Polish high-tech firms. R&D is essential for businesses to remain competitive and adapt their products to the specific requirements of different markets. The study aims to investigate the relationship between R&D and the internationalization process of high-tech firms based in Poland, with a focus on the innovation context. We used a quantitative research method and employed a survey questionnaire to evaluate the internationalization of high-tech firms in Poland. The study employed a computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) method and identified the random sample of 263 fully-filled questionnaires during the survey that were important for further statistical analysis. We confirmed that research and development as it is commonly understood, i.e., having one's own R&D department and making expenditures on R&D, helps and strengthens the internationalization of high-tech firms.
The article aims to empirically verify the impact of creativity on students' entrepreneurial intentions using a theoretical framework of the enhanced theory of planned behaviour of Icek Ajzen. The primary research tool was a survey conducted among students (n = 719) of several universities in Kraków, Poland. Statistical calculations of multiple regression positively verified the hypothesis that students' creativity strengthens their entrepreneurial intentions to start their own business. The model has a strong predictive power (R2 = 65.3%). University teaching should be focused more on unleashing students' creativity to boost entrepreneurial intentions of students, then to transpose into startups, and then eventually to support the competitiveness of the economy. This article's novel contribution is to confirm that social norms in Poland do not play an essential role in stimulating entrepreneurial intentions despite numerous affirmations to this factor in other countries.
Entrepreneurship has a rich tradition in the history of economic thought, but Central and Eastern European (CEE) researchers are latecomers. The socialist or communist economic systems discriminated against the entrepreneurial activity. This article aims to supplement the knowledge about the state, intensity, and research trends on entrepreneurship in CEE countries. The systematic literature review covers over 30 years (1980-2021). The bibliometric analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer software. The regional output in quantitative terms is relatively smaller in comparison to the global academia, although it addresses basically the same topics as the world literature. CEE researchers undertake, in principle, the same research threads as the entire academic community worldwide. CEE researchers publish their work on Central Europe mainly in journals of regional publishers. The two currently leading regional scientific journals on entrepreneurship are Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Issues (Lithuania) and Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review (Poland). Although, the history of entrepreneurship research in Central and Eastern Europe dates back to the beginning of the economic transition in the early 1990s, but the intensification of publications from this region in Web of Science has been observed since the mid-2000s.
Abstract Currently, the internationalisation of family businesses (FBs) is an increasingly important research area. Substantial numbers of FBs are forced to expand into foreign markets in order to survive and grow in the competitive environment. However various research findings show that internationalisation of FBs may proceed differently than in the case of firms with different ownership structure. The article is both theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part it focuses on theoretical concepts of firm internationalisation and specifics of internationalisation of FBs, especially their motives for going international. In the empirical part the quantitative approach was adopted. The results of the survey are presented on the sample of 216 firms, including 88 FBs (were investigated with the use of a survey questionnaire). Then, the statistical analysis is carried out.
