BACKGROUND: The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China, spreads globally, since its declaration by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a COVID-19 pandemic on March 11, 2020. COVID-19 vaccine is a crucial preventive approach that can halt this pandemic. The present systematic review was aimed to assess the level of willingness to receive COVID-19 vaccine and its associated factors. METHODS: A comprehensive literature search was conducted by using various online databases such as PubMed/MEDLINE, HINARI, EMBASE, Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, African journals, and Google for grey literature which were used to search the related articles up to the period of May 08, 2021. RESULTS: The overall rate of participants' willingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccine was ranged from 27.7% to 91.3%, which was from Congo and China, respectively. Factors such as age, educational status, gender, income, residency, occupation, marital status, race/ethnicity, perceived risk of COVID-19, trust in healthcare system, health insurance, norms, attitude towards vaccine, perceived benefit of vaccine, perceived vaccine barriers, self-efficacy, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for COVID-19 in the past, perceived efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccination, recommended for vaccination, political leaning, perceived severity of COVID-19, perceived effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccine, belief that vaccination makes them feel less worried about COVID-19, believing in mandatory COVID-19 vaccination, perceived potential vaccine harms, presence of chronic disease, confidence, COVID-19 vaccine safety concern, working in healthcare field, believing vaccines can stop the pandemic, fear about COVID-19, cues to action, COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, complacency, and receiving any vaccine in the past 5 years were associated with the willingness of receive COVID-19 vaccine. However, self-monitoring of BP among hypertensive patients on scheduled follow-up in hospitals in Ethiopia is unknown. The aim of the study was to assess knowledge and attitude of self-monitoring of BP among adult hypertensive patients.Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 400 adult hypertensive patients attending follow-up clinics at four public hospitals of Arsi Zone, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. The data were collected from patients from March 10, 2019 to April 8, 2019 by face-to-face interview using a pretested questionnaire and augmented by a retrospective patients' medical records review. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 21.0 software.Results: A total of 400 patients were enrolled into the study with the response rate of 97.6%. The median age of the participants was 49 years (range 23– 90 years). More than half (225 [56.3%]) were male. The majority (160 [40%]) were married and more than two-thirds (282 [70.5%]) were Oromo by ethnic background. About 206 (51.5%) had attended primary education. The proportion of patient's knowledge toward self-monitoring of BP and the practice of self-monitoring of BP among hypertensive patients was 31.5% (n=126 [95% CI; 26.5, 36.5]) and 7.75% (n=31 [95% CI; 5.3, 10.5]) respectively. The multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed; higher education (AOR=2.73, 95% CI [1.33, 13.88)], governmental employed (AOR=1.52, 95% CI [1.06, 6.48]), having an income of > 3500 Ethiopian Birr (AOR=2.16, 95% CI [1.56, 7.39]), duration of hypertension > 6 years (AOR=1.87, 95% CI [1.21, 6.37]), having health insurance (AOR=3.56, 95% CI [1.39, 10.53]), having co-morbidities (AOR=3.93, 95% CI [1.35, 10.32]), receiving a health professional recommendation toward self-monitoring of BP (AOR=6.08, 95% CI [2.45, 15.06]), and having an awareness of hypertension-related complication (AOR=3.94, 95% CI [1.34, 11.44]) were factors significantly associated with self-monitoring of BP.Conclusion: In this study, the proportion of knowledge of self-monitoring of BP and the practice of self-monitoring of BP among hypertensive patients on follow-up were low. Despite the advancement of treatment for HF, the problem continues to cause substantial hospitalization, economic costs, disability, morbidity, and mortality. However, knowledge, attitude, and associated factors towards HF management in Ethiopia were unknown.Objective: To assess knowledge, attitude, and associated factors towards HF management of nurses working in the cardiac unit.Methods: An institution-based cross-sectional survey was conducted on 180 nurses working in a cardiac unit at selected government hospitals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The data were collected from March to April 2020 by self-administered questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using SPSS version 24.0 software.Results: A total of 180 nurses were enrolled into the study with a response rate of 95%. The mean age of the participants was 31 years. The majority (105; 58.3%) were females. About 108 (60%) of them were married and 34 (18.9%) of them were qualified with a MSc in nursing. More than two-thirds (134; 74.4%) of them had ≤ 6 years of work experience. The majority (131; 72.8%) of them have not taken training on the management of HF. The level of a good knowledge and positive attitude towards the management of HF were 30.56% (n = 55; 95% CI: 24.20– 37.50) and 94.4% (n = 170; 95% CI: 90.6– 97.8), respectively. Having a monthly income of > 6700 Ethiopian birr (AOR = 3.20, 95% CI: 2.87– 9.58), master's degree in nursing (AOR = 4.35, 95% CI: 3.42– 14.36), having > 6 years of working experience (AOR = 5.21, 95% CI: 4.41– 15.72), and having training about HF management (AOR = 6.18, 95% CI: 4.76, 15.95) were factors significantly associated with knowledge towards HF management.Conclusion: The level of good knowledge towards HF management was very low, while the level of positive attitude towards HF management was satisfactory.
