Vaccines are considered to be the center of the prevention and management of viral diseases. Even with the wide acceptance that vaccines are safe, vaccine hesitancy is still rampant in various parts of the world. Several historical, social, religious, and moral factors were identified and observed to have influence parent's vaccine acceptance or hesitance. Parent's vaccine hesitance or acceptance is crucial since adolescents constitute the ideal group for immunization. This study aims to uncover the issues and challenges of parents on vaccination, the factors that affect their decision to vaccinate their children, and parents' primary influences to vaccinate their children. A descriptive-survey research design utilizing a questionnaire floated to parents of adolescents in a local high school. It was found out that the level of education and type of occupation was significantly associated with parent's decision to vaccinate their children. The major issue and challenge of parents toward vaccination is that they don't find vaccines important and have a high level of distrust towards the government's health agency and medical professionals. The primary factor affecting their decision-making is the negative news on vaccination and vaccine safety. Respondents also reported that even they distrust the government's health agency, they still consider it influential towards their vaccine decision-making. With this, it is recommended that efforts be strengthened in restoring the public's trust towards the government health agency to address vaccine hesitancy.

This study examined treatment motivation, clientele satisfaction, and the factors affecting enrollment and completion in community-based drug rehabilitation and aftercare programs in the Philippines. A convergent mixed methods research design was employed using a survey and qualitative focus group discussions. Both on-going and completed clients had high level of internal motivation towards treatment and were highly satisfied with the program. Clients reported internal and external factors influenced their completion of the rehabilitation program while their satisfaction determined the areas that require necessary improvements. Aside from internal and external motivation, the general structure of the program, competence of facilitators, government and community support, and complementary intervention serve as influential factors.

The curricular revamp in the Philippine's Basic Education aimed to improve the learning outcomes of Filipino Students. In science education, this revision in the curriculum posed a mismatch in the past teacher preparation and current basic education science education curriculum. As a response, a flexible training program was conducted to address this curriculum gap. This study investigated the improvement of science teaching efficacy utilizing rapid project monitoring through a pre-experimental research design. Standardized adopted questionnaires were utilized before and after the training program. At the end of the training program, teachers were found to have improved in all aspects of science teaching efficacy except in the personal science teaching efficacy, which indicates success in achieving the training objectives. In addition, all targeted concepts for science teaching efficacy were improved after the training. The results of this present work support the notion that professional development programs are potential ways to address curricular gaps in teacher and curriculum mismatch. It is recommended that further studies be conducted to examine science teachers' experiences during the training program to understand how it contributes to the development of their science teaching efficacy.

Adolescent pregnancy has been a common problem not only in the Philippines but also in most countries of the world, may it be developing or first world. In this study, the prevalence of adolescent pregnancy was determined throughout the 15 barangays in El Salvador City using a correlational-descriptive approach. A total of 497 respondents were taken into consideration. The majority of the respondents were 16-18 years old at the time of the study and came from barangay Molugan and Poblacion. Adolescent pregnancy was also determined to be at 32.39% or 161 out of the 497 respondents which is relatively high and comparable to the neighboring countries in Asia. Correlational statistics was also employed to determine the correlation between prevalence of adolescent pregnancy and family history of adolescent pregnancy. A range of strong negative, no relationship, strong positive, to negligible relationship was shown in all 15 barangays. Six out of the fifteen barangays showed positive relationship while five barangays showed negligible relationship. Overall, there was a negligible relationship between the variables studied. This supports the idea that adolescent pregnancy is a multifactorial problem which requires multifaceted intervention strategies and approaches to minimize adolescent childbearing risks. Furthermore, it is recommended that various steps should be taken to develop pregnancy prevention intervention programs targeting young women according to maternal and sibling adolescent pregnancy histories, increase awareness campaign in schools and public places on the risks of adolescent pregnancies, and lastly to improve childhood intervention and youth development programs for reducing unintended and unplanned adolescent pregnancy.
