Ordos Basin is concentrated rich areas of coal, natural gas and oil. In last years it is becoming an important mineral resource and energy base of China. To the most well-known and good studied gas fields belong Sulige and Tabamiao, where natural gas takes place in carbonate rocks of Early Ordovician time. As the result of an investigation that made by author, there is a definition of five types of reservoirs which lay in the core of weathering of Ordovician carbonate deposits.

Given the serious environmental crisis happening in China, Environmental Education (EE) has been given more and more attention by the government, educators, public and researchers. EE in China has been increasingly promoted in recent years especially within the formal education system. However, there are always difficulties and problems involved in bringing Environmental Education into the classroom. This study focuses on the Chinese National Environmental Education Curriculum implementation issues. It aims to understand the curriculum implementation gap between the intended written curriculum and the teachers' perceived curriculum. As the teacher is in the center of this phenomenon, there is a special focus on the teachers' beliefs system. The research questions leading this study are 1) What are the teachers' beliefs about EE? 2) What are their perceptions on the implementation of the EE Curriculum? 3) What role does the National EE curriculum play in teaching practice? From a phenomenological approach, a qualitative study has been conducted in Tianjin, one of the major cities in China. Four primary school teachers from two public primary schools have been interviewed. The beliefs generated from common sources are mainly discussed as a way to make generalizations. Thematic analysis has been applied to analyze the interview data. The results are presented around three themes which are the teachers' beliefs on EE, pedagogical practice of EE and EE curriculum application. The research has shown that the teachers have a basic understanding of EE but insufficient teaching methods, and the results also revealed some negative attitudes among the teachers. The curriculum mainly serves as a framework and theoretical reference with very limited use in teaching practice. Based on this study, the EE curriculum implementation gap is mainly generated from the teachers' insufficient pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) and the marginal status of EE in the system. Therefore, it has been suggested that in order to narrow the implementation gap, improvements should be made to teaching training, educative curriculum design, parents' education and the legalization of EE. Due to the fact that the study has been conducted in the context of Tianjin, the results cannot be generalized to the whole country. But the results can set up references for other cities that share similar educational and social conditions with Tianjin.

As in all Asian countries, modernization in China was a result of Western impact. The year 1860 was a turning point in Chinese history. Prior to that year tradition reigned supreme, and all foreign nations were considered as distant uncivilized peoples whose best fortune lay in becoming vassals of the Middle Kingdom. A preliminary sign of change came in 1839–1842, when China suffered defeat in the Opium War with Great Britain. The defeat, humiliating as it was at the time, proved insufficient to shake China's inertia and was soon almost forgotten. The age of change had, however, arrived. Internal rebellion flashed up in the fifties. In addition, a new war with France and Britain started in 1856. In 1860, the emperor was a fugitive at Jehol; his summer palace was burned down by the invaders; a humiliating "unequal" treaty was concluded. The wound was too deep to be ignored, and the ground for reform was prepared.

The cardinal feature of traditional Confucian society was the division of the populace into a literary elite & the illiterate mass of peasants. It could be maintained only if adherence to the rules was nearly universal & if the pattern of life remained constant. Progress was frowned on. When the regime collapsed after meeting the superior technology of the West, an era of indiscriminate imitation of the West set in. The most far-reaching reform was in educ. The new intellectual class which emerged stood in contrast to the old literati in almost every respect; they were no longer acquainted with China's cultural background; they knew nothing of peasant problems; there was little inter-group mobility. This new class had a definite impact on the Chinese body politic & on local politics. Local gov deteriorated in the mid-1930's, due to the absence of educated men in Ru areas. By adapting themselves to the situation the Communists became invincible & a ready substitute for the traditional Confucian faith. They grasped China's tradition more than China's intellectuals in their pilgrimage to the West. IPSA.

Performance of gypsum board based systems in fire is highly influenced by the temperature-dependant thermal conductivity of gypsum boards, yet there is a wide difference in the thermal conductivity values used in literature. Presented here is a hybrid method to determine the effective thermal conductivity of gypsum boards at high temperatures, based on using small-scale experimental results and a thermal conductivity model which includes the effects of radiation in voids.
