Recently declassified U.S.Defense and State Department documents have shed new light on the motivations for Western missile deployment proposals. In some cases, conflicting political and military objectives were complicated by the technological challenges of creative deployment schemes as well as the competitive nature of Defense Department funding. This article examines the U.S. Army's Iceworm intermediate-range ballistic missile deployment concept of the early 1960s to show how interservice rivalries, strategic considerations, technological developments, and the competition for a share of funding af-fected decisions on U.S. nuclear forces and the defense of Western Europe.

Discusses the US Army's proposed deployment of Iceworm intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) within the North Greenland ice cap, the tensions it caused in US-Danish relations, and how interservice rivalries, strategic concerns, technological developments, and competition for funding affected defense policy decision-making.

The contribution is aimed at developing a model of demand in tourist traffic with due regard to economic, geographical, demographical and social factors such as the GDP, Consumer Price Index, prices of trips, revenues per capita, exchange rate, etc. Important parts of this model are made up by the unpredictable negative situations that have already happened some time ago. The aim is to identify them and perform a follow-up analysis of the potential threats to a company involved in the tourist industry. Rated among those situations are terrorism, earthquakes and aviation accidents.

Goal of the contribution is to create universal model for evaluation of companies, acting in mining industry in Slovakia. Model is orientated to the companies, acting in mining industry in Slovakia and it consists from several logically relating steps. Also application of suggested process in chosen mining company is made as well as achieved results are mutually compared. Attention is given to the revenue methods with necessity of financial plan, as well as methods that do not demand knowledge of financial plan.

Abstrakt
Predmetný článok sa zaoberá trivariántnym spracovaním a určením odhadov neznámych parametrov v geodetickej sieti observovanej technológiu využívajúcou signály globálnych navigačných satelitných systémov v rokoch 2004, 2008 a 2011. Cieľom práce je zhodnotiť vplyv použitej metódy vyrovnania na odhad parametrov prvého a druhého rádu geodetickej siete a prezentovať výsledky analýzy pretvorení s grafickou vizualizáciu jednotlivých spracovaní a analýz. Na spracovanie a vyrovnanie observácií boli použité MNŠ a robustné M-odhady podľa Hubera a Hampela. Pri analýze stability bodov poukázali všetky 3 metódy spracovania na posun bodu 5005 v epoche 04-08, čo potvrdzujú aj grafické vizualizácie pomocou konfidenčných elipsoidov chýb.
