The overall behavior and brinksmanship of North Korea's supreme leadership has been labelled by many as brass, irrational, unpredictable, and primarily aimed only at gaining concessions from the international community. There are times when North Korea's leadership isolates itself from the international community. At other times, the leadership will use provocations and threats to gain attention and then suddenly offer a proverbial olive branch accompanied by a flurry of goodwill activities. Indeed, we do not need to venture far back into North Korea's history to see multiple sides of the leadership's apparent schizophrenic or multi-polar behavior. Adapted from the source document.
