This paper empirically examines the degree of regional consumption risk‐sharing in China. It finds that less risk‐sharing is taking place across Chinese provinces than across US states and Canadian provinces, although its extent across the latter is somewhat higher than across the national boundaries of industrial countries. Specifically, about half of the fitted annual variation in provincial consumption growth is common to all Chinese provinces, compared with more than two‐thirds (less than one‐third) in the case of US states and Canadian provinces (G‐7 countries). My estimates reveal that Chinese households would be willing to pay dearly to insure their consumption against idiosyncratic shocks.

Due to the particularity of business operation of electric power industry enterprises, their social responsibility will have an important impact on national economic development and residents' life. In this paper, 303 Listed Companies in the power industry from 2013 to 2018 are taken as samples to measure the degree of social responsibility of the power industry based on the contribution of the power industry enterprises to the government, employees, shareholders, creditors, suppliers and customers, and to test the correlation between the Listed Companies in the power industry and earnings management. The empirical results show that the more the power industry enterprises pay to the outside world, the lower the degree of earnings management, that is, the better the degree of social responsibility of listed companies in the power industry, the lower the degree of earnings management. Through the research results of this paper, we can think that the social responsibility behavior of power industry enterprises is "altruistic" rather than "egoistic", which explains the importance of non-marketization of large state-owned power enterprises such as State Grid Corporation of China.

AbstractWe develop a simple and tractable two‐sector search model featuring a non‐traded sector and endogenous search unemployment to examine the impact of terms of trade shocks on unemployment. We show that changes in terms of trade will not only lead to employment reallocation across sectors, as in the traditional trade models, but, more importantly, impact upon search unemployment within each sector. Specifically, we show that an improvement (deterioration) of terms of trade reduces (increases) unemployment rates in both traded and non‐traded sectors.

Abstract We revisit the Heckscher‐Ohlin‐Samuelson model in the presence of labour market frictions à la Mortensen‐Pissarides. Relaxing the assumption of the one‐worker‐one‐firm matching rule, we show that the Stolper‐Samuelson theorem and the Rybczynski theorem may not hold in specific circumstances. We also demonstrate that the Factor Price Equalization theorem is valid only for capital and unemployed labour across countries, but not for employed labour. In equilibrium, trade patterns are determined by countries' factor endowments and relative factor intensities in sectors (independent of factor intensities in production). Finally, our results suggest an additional explanation for the 'missing trade' phenomenon.

The elimination of poverty as the primary goal has always been an important content that the governments of all countries pay great attention to. Over the past few decades, China has made remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation. The targets of poverty alleviation in the new era have been fulfilled as scheduled. However, it should not be ignored that with the resolution of absolute poverty in China, poverty control in the new era has become more strategic and long-term. Many problems have become the focus of poverty management in the "post-poverty era", such as relative poor group replacing absolute poor group as the main body of poverty, preventing the group that has been lifted out of poverty from returning to poverty and preventing the occurrence of new poverty. This paper takes Chongqing southeast "national long-term governance mechanism of the border region information poverty" as the research object, focusing on poverty after the crucial information poverty on "the new absolute poverty and has Chinese out of poverty group", the influence of the ultimate goal is to block Chinese border region phenomenon caused by poor information, strengthen poverty crucial achievement, realize common prosperity.
