LAND SUPPLY AND URBAN INDUSTRIES
Revenues from land sales have been supporting the local public finance in recent years in China, while tax revenues from urban industries would dominate in future. A shortage of land resources seems to threaten many cities after two decades of economic growth and extensive exploitation, which resulted in the booming of the land reserve centers. However, urban industries depend on sufficient supply of land. Intensity of land use, in essence, is optimization of land production, not simply frugal, not partial maximization of government departments. Land supply influences not only urban industries and local economies, but also the relations between administrative divisions, even the economic geographical features of China.
