Across four studies I tested why people are averse to relying on algorithmic judgments in person judgment tasks (e. g., student admissions), and examined how such aversions can be attenuated. I proposed that people tend to focus more on case-specific information (vs. general propositions)
in person-judgment tasks, and that algorithms (vs. human experts) are believed to be skilled at addressing general propositions (vs. case-specific information). Thus, I posited that in person-judgment tasks, people would be less averse to relying on algorithmic judgments when they focus more
on general propositions (vs. case-specific information). By varying the perceived importance of case-specific information and general propositions, the research provides support for these hypotheses. In addition, the results reveal the mechanism underlying algorithm aversion in person judgments
and provide a cost-effective way to increase consumers' algorithm adoption.

This paper examines the concept of Rendaozhuyi in Late Qing and Early Republican China. Appearing as early as 1903, Rendaozhuyi is the Chinese rendering of both humanism and humanitarianism. For the Chinese intellectuals during the Late Qing and Early Republican period,
"rendao" itself represented a modern value of humanity and human dignity. In the wake of the Great War, Rendaozhuyi gained tremendous popularity among the May-Fourth scholars. Some of them held it up as a universal ideal and tool to critique Chinese tradition, while others
respectfully disagreed, worrying it would undermine the collective morale of "strengthening the nation". Finally, the late 1920s saw the rapid ebb of the discussions of Rendaozhuyi.

Since 1999, China launched the program of western development and began to implement a series of development plans in 2000. As the economic base, industrial sectors are one of the development focuses of the program. An important policy measure in the program is to increase investment. As we know, investment, especially government investment, has been the main source maintaining China's high speed growth for a long time. Investment growth causes fast capital accumulation and then scale expansion of industries. However, capital productivity decides the impact of investment on promoting economic growth. Investing in low productivity sectors will not only waste capital, but also accumulate economic risk. Recently, China has realized that high inputs and relative low income are not a recipe for a sustainable growth mode. It's important to improve industries' productivity to grow more efficiently.

Same-sex sexuality remains a prevalent taboo in many cultures and societies globally. In the past decade, scholars from various fields have increasingly examined how sexual minorities (SMs) are represented. The present paper contributes to this growing research by addressing two notable gaps. First, since much of the existing research centers on Western contexts, there is limited study on the portrayal of SMs within the Chinese cultural framework. Second, past studies emphasize verbal portrayals, often sidelining the importance of visual representations. This article will report and analyze the photos gathered from two prominent Chinese newspapers, China Daily and Global Times, pertaining to SMs in mainland China. By drawing on Van Leeuwen's visual social actor network, the article reveals that Chinese SMs most often are visually represented as victims, disguisers, warriors, and elitists. Finally, we explore the socio-cultural influences behind these representation patterns.
