Water pollution of the Yangtze River basin is very serious. Studies have shown that from the upper to the lower river, the water volume decreases and development and pollution increase, especially in trans-boundary areas. The Yangtze Estuary is located at the intersection of Jiangsu Province and Shanghai where the waters flow directly into the East China Sea. The estuary provides drinking water to many people and serves multiple other functions, including agricultural irrigation, tourism, and aquaculture. It plays a pivotal role in the local social and economic development and in people's general wellbeing. Directly or indirectly, the pollution of the aquatic environment in the estuary negatively affects the socio-economic function of the estuary and neighboring areas. To help policymakers and stakeholders better appreciate the costs of rapid economic development, we examine Chongming County of Shanghai by using James' concentration-loss model and assessing the economic loss in Chongming County from 2005 to 2013 caused by water pollution in the Yangtze Estuary. The most affected function is tourism, while the most harmful pollutant is COD. According to the estimated loss rate, the county has lost almost all of its tourism and potable water function. The inhabitation function also shows severe deterioration. We conclude that the economic development of the upper river has caused serious economic loss for Chongming County and make five suggestions to remedy this situation. First, the government should streamline management of the estuary environment. Second, to reduce pollution of the river aquatic environment, the government should establish trans-boundary compensation mechanisms. Third, researchers should focus on relevant theories and methodologies of assessing economic loss from water pollution. Fourth, universities should modify their curricula to include more subjects on the environmental research and management so as to train and cultivate high-level professionals. Lastly, administrative departments should work closely with research departments, thus enabling scientific research to affect planning and implementation. Lea el abstracto en español 请点击此处阅读中文摘要

Abstract
We were inspired by the market transition theory to investigate the relationship between elite sports players' performance, subjective well-being and demographic characteristics with the lens of Weberian concept of instrumental rationality (zweckrational). This cross-sectional study was recruited 144 (Mage = 18.96, sd = 3.129) professional athletes in gymnastics, combat sports (including boxing, taekwondo, weightlifting, judo and wrestling), soccer, swimming and wushu (Chinese martial arts), in a government-operated sports institution in China. A hierarchical regression analysis was implemented to observe the relationship between the following variables, the subjective well-being, instrumental factors and other demographic factors, including gender, age, educational level, number of years on professional team and injury record. The results show that the bonus incentive system is the most important predictor of the athletes' performance. We argue that under the context of China's market transition, the lens of instrumental rationality can shed light on how the means-end calculations of elite athletes affect their sports performance.

PurposePlatform-based enterprises, as micro-entities in the platform economy, have the potential to effectively promote the low-carbon development of both supply and demand sides in the supply chain. Therefore, this paper aims to provide a multi-criteria decision-making method in a probabilistic hesitant fuzzy environment to assist platform-type companies in selecting cooperative suppliers for carbon reduction in green supply chains.Design/methodology/approachThis paper combines the advantages of probabilistic hesitant fuzzy sets (PHFS) to address uncertainty issues and proposes an improved multi-criteria decision-making method called PHFS-DNMEREC-MABAC for aiding platform-based enterprises in selecting carbon emission reduction collaboration suppliers in green supply chains. Within this decision-making method, we enhance the standardization process of both the DNMEREC and MABAC methods by directly standardizing probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements. Additionally, a probability splitting algorithm is introduced to handle probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements of varying lengths, mitigating information bias that traditional approaches tend to introduce when adding values based on risk preferences.FindingsIn this paper, we apply the proposed method to a case study involving the selection of carbon emission reduction collaboration suppliers for Tmall Mart and compare it with the latest existing decision-making methods. The results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method and the effectiveness of the introduced probability splitting algorithm in avoiding information bias.Originality/valueFirstly, this paper proposes a new multi-criteria decision making method for aiding platform-based enterprises in selecting carbon emission reduction collaboration suppliers in green supply chains. Secondly, in this method, we provided a new standard method to process probability hesitant fuzzy decision making information. Finally, the probability splitting algorithm was introduced to avoid information bias in the process of dealing with inconsistent lengths of probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements.

AbstractThis cross‐sectional study explored the relationship between violent video game exposure (VVGE) and aggression in left‐behind adolescents (LBAs) in China, taking into account the effects of moral sensitivity and father presence. A cluster sampling design was applied in this study; we recruited 615 adolescents (45.85% male, age range 12–18 years, Mage = 14.70 years, SD = 1.66) from China. The results by using SPSS 25.0 and the PROCESS macro showed that VVGE was positively associated with LBAs' trait aggression and its items, and moral sensitivity played a partial mediating role in these relationships. Moreover, father presence moderated VVGE and LBAs' trait aggression, verbal aggression and hostility. Specifically, at a high level of father presence, the direct effect of VVGE on trait aggression was significantly moderated by increasing the level of father presence, whereas this moderating effect was not significant at a low level of father presence. The results were similar for verbal aggression and hostility. Thus, moral sensitivity and father presence should be considered in prevention and intervention strategies aimed at reducing LBAs' aggression.

AbstractMeckel-Gruber syndrome (MKS) is a rare lethal autosomal recessive inherited disorder. Missed diagnosis might happen in clinical works due to an unclear genotype–phenotype correlation. We analyzed two families visiting our center; the parents are normal; each of the family aborted a fetus at 12WG. Following ultrasonography and pathological examination, both were diagnosed as MKS. Whole exome sequencing identified a compound heterozygous of two novel variants of CEP290 and a heterozygous of a novel variant of CC2D2A. Frameshift mutations in ZNF77 were also detected. Western blot analyzing whole-brain tissue showed that the expression of ZNF77, CC2D2A, and CEP290 was enhanced. HEK293T transfected with over-expression wildtype/mutated ZNF77 plasmid showed that SHH was increased in wildtype ZNF77 cells, while SHH and CC2D2A were increased in mutated ZNF77 cells. Our research provided two novel pathogenic variants of CEP290 and CC2D2A and suggested that ZNF77 might promote the expression of CC2D2A and regulate the amount of SHH.
