We address the interaction of various interpretations of lexical items, which leads to a change in the correlation between signifieds and signifiers and the formation of new signs. Addressing the polysemic slogan 'ОМОН-И-МЫ — АНТОНИМЫ', we explicate the mechanism of semiotic Perpetuum mobile, that is, the cyclic recursions that allow simultane­ous actualization of various interpretations of this utterance. We demonstrate that the analy­sis of semantic relations in their dynamics requires the introduction of new theoretical con­cepts. The general principle of dynamic semiosis is demonstrated — that is the recursive rela­tions when a signified of one sign through intermediate operations (homonymy and synony­my) becomes a signifier of another and vice versa. In this semantic Perpetuum mobile, no single interpretation reaches the final point. It goes back to the previous state without produc­ing new meanings and signs but repeating the already passed cycle. Each of the co-existing interpretations returns to itself, demonstrating — in a paradoxical and tautological way — Luhman's concept of paradox and tautology as two only possible states of a self-describing system. The same process, but being considered from the starting point demonstrates the par­adoxicality and tautology of the process of signification.

The article aims to illustrate the inadequacy of viewing semiotics as a mere extension of linguistic methods applied to non-linguistic objects. It highlights the dual and recursive na­ture of semiotic terms. Semiotics' objects are not independent signs but rather the processes involved in establishing sign relations, specifically semiosis and semiopoiesis. Given the dy­namic character of semiosis, signs should not be regarded as fixed objects from a predefined vocabulary; instead, they should be seen as ongoing processes. This underscores the signifi­cance of referencing texts and contexts within semiotics. This aspect is crucial as it is where semiotics can complement linguistics effectively. Social semiotics and poetic semantics, from different vantage points, demonstrate that the speaker's activity is not merely the reproduction of signs but the generation of them. Con­versely, biosemiotics and molecular genetics offer insights into comprehending the inter­nal laws of semiosis, affirming that sign generation is an inherent property of information sys­tems and need not always involve a conscious subject. Simultaneously, linguistic descrip­tions can take various directions, focusing either on describing significative functions exter­nal to the system or on internal relationships within the system.

The article discusses a possible development of Yuri Lotman's concept of semiosphere by supplementing it with the idea of semio-poiesis. Analysis of the processes of origination, evo­lution and functioning of the genetic code makes it possible to describe the main mechanisms of these processes. The associations of material phenomena (in this case nucleotides and amino acids) led to the establishment of semiotic links, resulting in mechanisms of information stor­age and transmission, allowing the creation of stable life forms. The increasing complexity of organization leads to the crystallization of informational and semiotic origins. Semio-poiesis, a recursive autoreference of the semiotic system, becomes a form of organization of the bio­world, where such parameters as sense and purpose become determinative. Such an under­standing of these processes makes it possible to develop Lotman's concept of the semiosphere and, firstly, to confirm his assumptions that semiosis can be preceded only by a previous se­miotic form, and, secondly, to show the original mechanisms of semiosphere self-organization and autonomous functioning. The very dualism of the genetic code, its simultaneous biochem­ical and linguosemiotic organization, and the processes of gene expression can be compared with what Lotman considered to be the basic principle of semiosphere functioning — the in­teraction of oppositely organized heterogeneous mechanisms.

The article suggests reconsidering the accepted understanding of pragmatics as a relationship between a sign (system) and an autonomous subject. The possibil­ity of this approach may be substantiated through Peirce's ideas. In his concept, despite the presence of an interpretant and an interpretation, there is no room for an interpreter. Peirce's understanding of sign as an algebraic relation did not require an appeal to thinking. However, the concept of interpretant should be as­sociated with interlocutors. In Peirce's unfinished conception, quasi-subjects (quasi-speaker and quasi-interpreter) arise, which are "melded" into a sign and are quasi-personified of the stages of semiosis. Peirce's chronologically last se­miotic conception demonstrates the possibility of semiotic operations, which does not imply an autonomous conscious subject. To develop this approach, we consider the processing of genetic information, where an interpreter and an inter­pretant are the same entity. Peirce's method to derive communicants not from an external environment but from the sign itself can be extended to semiotic mega-systems (semiosphere, culture, language) when the semiotic structure acts, in the words of Yu. Lotman, as a subject and the object on its own. Thus, we suggest addressing pragmatics as the relationship between the sign object system and the meta-system that regulates its actualization. The meta-system appears as a semiotic self that controls the process of generation (quasi-speaker) and inter­pretation (quasi-interpreter).

The discussion aims to identify the interpretive mechanisms that provide an interface be­tween text and context (between language and the world, language and culture, language and society). It is a multi-level system of interfaces connected by inversion and recursion relations and operations. We identify this system as a pragmasemantics. It also acts as an interface platform for correlation/transformation of intra-system semantic units and extralinguistic objects within a set of possible worlds. At the same time, this platform is endowed with the autopoietic potential to generate new operating interfaces systems, as well as textualized structures of operations and interpretations (instructions, memory, reframing). The genera­tion of meaning is the result of the interaction of the system platform with the platform-as-context, due to the possibility that one generates and determines the operational potential of the other, acting a recursive loop or Möbius strip. The connection between subjectivity and meaningful semiosis is crucially important due to the key role of textualization and langua­ging. The signified are reproduced by signifiers and thus generate those processes that are structured by interactions and other practices. In complex systems (biological and beyond), the possibility of self-replication arises through recursive self-interpretation. Thus, subjectivi­ty acts as a kind of universal interface that determines the change of contexts, their interac­tion, the generation of possible new ones, ensuring the pro-creativity and pre-adaptability of the system (its stability and development.

Historical memory represents the past by some semiotic tools: narratives, symbols, monuments, rituals, etc. The semantic criteria of truevalue assessment are not compatible with such representations. However, collective memory narratives pretend to be based on historical facts and represent the historical reality as it was. We suggest considering historical memory and its representation as a multilevel semantic system. The proposed description method is based on modal semantics, where the meaning of the language expression is considered as a system of domains of interpretation (reference) linked by modal relations. As applied to a historical discourse where the direct correspondence of fact and its description is impossible, it is not the reality itself but its representation that constitutes a domain of reference. It demonstrates that such an approach makes it possible to extrapolate on historical discourse the consideration of the semantic system of language as a mechanism intended for a description of possible states of affairs (Wittgenstein), and to identify, on the one hand, the correlation between such heterogeneous characteristics as modality, causality and textuality, and on the other, between theories describing such aspects of historical narratives. In the frame of the semantics of possible worlds, it is possible to reinterpret Aristotle's well-known statement on the distinction and correlation between historical and poetic narratives. Yu. Lotman's ideas about both prospective and retrospective views make it possible to demonstrate the interaction of modal and temporal operators in historical discourse.
