Mennonites of the United States assembled as a General Conference at Yellow Creek Church near Goshen Indiana on August 29, 1917 to address the question of military service. This statement is a petition to civil authorities to recognize the nonresistance principle of Mennonites.
Mennonites of the United States and Canada met at Yellowcreek Mennonite Church on August 29, 1917 and together drafted this statement of appeal to the civil authorities regarding Mennonite non-resistance and military service.
