Recent pension reforms in Europe have implemented a link between retirement age and life expectancy. The accurate forecast of life tables and life expectancy is hence paramount for governmental policy and financial institutions. We developed a multi-population mortality model which includes a cause-specific environment using Archimedean copulae to model dependence between various groups of causes of death. For this, Dutch data on cause-of-death mortality and cause-specific mortality data from 14 comparable European countries were used. We find that the inclusion of a common factor to a cause-specific mortality context increases the robustness of the forecast and we underline that cause-specific mortality forecasts foresee a more pessimistic mortality future than general mortality models. Overall, we find that this non-trivial extension is robust to the copula specification for commonly chosen dependence parameters. ; info:eu-repo/semantics/published
; Looking beyond the instrumental approach, which reduces digital learning to a form of manipulation dictated by the industrial logic of IT companies and platforms and pupils to docile consumers, a teaching approach from the angle of the « commons » uses digital resources as an environment to be understood and transformed, in all its informational, editorial and political dimensions. By making the ability to use tools central to the question of digital ecosystems and their governance, this educational approach helps to initiate not only group work, but also a way of sharing that enriches the knowledge commons well beyond the sphere of education.
In regard to the multiplication of cohousing projects in France by the early 2000s, this thesis offers an empirical examination of the co-habitation project as a political gesture. The thesis focuses on two different collectives of residents, one with a cooperative of inhabitant's project in the urban area and the other with a host community's project in the countryside. Following the implementation of these two projects, the thesis questions their common ambition to transform ways of lives from a voluntary and localized participation. Far enough from promoting a large reforming project and a deep transformation of the State, those experiences try to build replicable solutions of living from the collective's scale, composing with their local environment and try to articulate multifaceted and large scale's issues. From a pragmatist inspiration and a monographic methodology, the thesis proposes to articulate the negotiation of these projects at the collective's scale and the opening doors of possible futures at the scale of the society introducing the notion of the making with. The making with refers to a mode of operation claimed by the actors to build a solution confronting to the difficulties related to the implementation of those projects but also, the instauration process of a non-violent relation with the world to include people who want to participate and to consider the local environment and entities in place. At the same time, the collectives are facing various problems. From the act of inhabiting they explore solutions to solve various issues and try to rethink the habitability of Earth and the conditions of a common future. From this perspective, the thesis considers the cohabitation project as a political theory in acts which is deployed and materialized in a place and daily practices, and nourishes particular forms of life: one form of life deploying by a third path model and another by the "compagnonnage model".

The member countries of the WAEMU (West African Economic and Monetary Union) decided in 1994 to coordinate their actions in the areas of environment and energy. Inspired by the theory of Optimal Monetary Area (OMA), which contemplates the formation of a monetary union, the thesis examines the homogeneity of the countries in terms of growth and environment in order to establish whether the WAEMU countries must adopt common policies. The first part examines the relationship between growth and environment in static and dynamic frameworks. Then the second part analyzes the causal relationship between the variables GDP - energy - CO2 for each country on the one hand and the symmetry of shocks between countries on the other. The results show that the growth - environment relationship is quite positive and that the shocks are asymmetric. Ultimately, the thesis concludes with a strong heterogeneity of the countries of the area and it is therefore more appropriate at this time to develop a strategy in terms of objectives for growth and limiting pollution.

National audience ; Farmers' participation in agri-environmental schemes related to extensive grazing is analyzed in this paper from a French individual sample of the 2000-2006 Rural Development Program, initiated in the European Union. We focus on 265 316 cattle-breeders decision-making process in 2004 in addition with a located database to compensate the deficiency of information on farmers' characteristics. In a first step, the introduction of localized information in a probit model to explain the farmers' decision, improve the predictive capacity of the model (at a fine geographical level) in term of participation rate. In a second model we implement a Bayesian probit model with individual effects that bring out spatial interactions relied to the location of the decision-maker. The outcomes exhibit evidence of spatial dependence essentially in narrow geographic region. Reasons of these interactions are mainly due to the wide geographic diversity of the French productions systems and to social networks.
