Contemporary philosophical pluralism recognizes the inevitability and legitimacy of multiple ethical perspectives and values, making it difficult to isolate the higher-order principles on which to base a theory of justice. Rising up to meet this challenge, Rainer Forst, a leading member of the Frankfurt School's newest generation of philosophers, conceives of an ""autonomous"" construction of justice founded on what he calls the basic moral right to justification.Forst begins by identifying this right from the perspective of moral philosophy. Then, through an innovative, detailed critical anal

Constructivism, self, self-conception, society, discourse. - Neurobiological research has great impact on our self-conception. Do we have a free will or are we slaves of our brain processes? How can these modifications be described? According to the neurobiological constructivism, developed by Gerhard Roth, neuroscientific findings are integrated in the history of constructivism. On this basis new research is discussed. This process shows the boundaries of neuroscience, which is broadly popular today. On the other hand developments of interdisciplinary scientists are presented and integrated. The goal is to show that only a multidimensional method is adequate to describe human thinking and behaviour. The combination of biological, psychological and sociological approaches is the only possibility to avoid a biologistical perspective, which is inevitably incomplete. The media discourse according to neuroscientific novelties demonstrates the imperative for discussion in society. Thus this dissertation wants to provide a basis für the afore mentioned public debate.

In recent years, a number of European countries abolished national border controls in favor of Europe's external frontiers. In doing so, they challenged long-established conceptions of sovereignty, territoriality, and security in world affairs. Setting forth a new analytic framework informed by constructivism and pragmatism, Ruben Zaiotti traces the transformation of underlying assumptions and cultural practices guiding European policymakers and postnational Europe, shedding light on current trends characterizing its politics and relations with others. The book also includes a fascinating comp
