This report investigates the question whether South Africa's calendar of public holidays as stipulated in the Public Holidays Act (Act 5 of 1952), with the exception of Republic Day, Workers' Day and religious holidays or days with such a purport, met the requirements of the respective people in South Africa. Additionally, analysis is on the question which holidays must be considered statutory remunerated holidays. (DÜI-Eng)

Report on the "socio-economic (especially financial) and spatial implications of the changing age compositions" of the South African population, with particular reference to the ageing trend. Recommendations cover changes to the National Welfare Act (1978) to make provisions for a National Committee for the Care of the Aged, the establishment of a central data bank, and the development of a national contributory pension system with a guarantee minimum pension.
