; The main issue of this article is the radical political thought and the security of contemporary European democracies. In this article, this problem is analyzed on the example of programs of nationalist parties and other organizations, e.g. National Democratic Party of Germany, National Revival of Poland, Golden Dawn from Greece, New Force from Italy, British National Party, Right Sector and Svoboda from Ukraine and others. Radical nationalist parties undermine of the principles of modern democracies. They attempt to change the international order and change the borders of countries in Europe that exist since the end of World War II. According to the author, only the reduction of defects of democracy and the development of knowledge about democracy, the development of civil society, the elimination of material disparities between social groups and the development of the middle class in Europe, can be an effective remedy for political radicalism.

The countries of Central Europe (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) relatively quickly have reached a level of development that allowed them to be classified as one of the consolidated democracies. This has been confirmed by the evaluations carried out by the best-known indices for measuring the quality of democracy. It is known, however, that the consolidation of democracy is a long-term process, taking place not only in the institutional dimension, but above all at the behavioural level, reflecting the state of public awareness. Consolidation is a meandering process and does not always end in success. What is happening in the countries of Central Europe at the end of the first decade and in the second decade of the 21st century is a sufficient reason to ask a question about the future of their democracies. Referring to the Nations in Transit index, one can notice an increasingly clear trend of weakening democratic development in the region. With this in mind, the article outlines four hypothetical scenarios concerning the future of Central European democracies. They are not necessarily inseparable, but merely show the potential consequences of the phenomena and processes observed. The article is primarily of expository and prognostic character.

The study is the result of a legal comparative analysis of the directions of reforms in the administrative judiciary in the countries of young democracy: Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia and Kazakhstan. The analysis was carried out with reference to the patterns developed in old European democracies, mainly in Austria and Germany. Papers on reforms of the administrative judiciary in each of these countries were delivered at the international scientific conference: Reforms of administrative judiciary in the countries of young democracy (10–11.06.2021, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz). They focused on three issues: 1) contemporary challenges of the rule of law and administrative judiciary, 2) directions of changes in the national systems of administrative judiciary, 3) the future of administrative judiciary. The content of the study refers to this system of issues, which reflects the stages of development of administrative judiciary in the countries of young democracy. The conclusions drawn from the analysis show the results of reforms at each of these stages – from the constitutionalization of the rule of law, through the independence of the court-administrative procedure, to the stage of the present, extremely difficult challenges, not only of a procedural nature. ; Opracowanie stanowi wynik prawnoporównaczej analizy kierunków reform sądownictwa administracyjnego w państwach młodej demokracji: Polski, Czech, Litwy, Chorwacji, Serbii, Węgier, Ukrainy, Gruzji i Kazachstanu, w nawiązaniu do wzorów wypracowanych w starych demokracjach europejskich, głównie w Austrii i Niemczech.
