Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples suffer higher rates of food insecurity and diet-related disease than other Australians. However, assessment of food insecurity in specific population groups is sub-optimal, as in many developed countries. This study tailors the Healthy Diets ASAP (Australian Standardised Affordability and Pricing) methods protocol to be more relevant to Indigenous groups in assessing one important component of food security. The resultant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthy Diets ASAP methods were used to assess the price, price differential, and affordability of healthy (recommended) and current (unhealthy) diets in five remote Aboriginal communities. The results show that the tailored approach is more sensitive than the original protocol in revealing the high degree of food insecurity in these communities, where the current diet costs nearly 50% of disposable household income compared to the international benchmark of 30%. Sixty-two percent of the current food budget appears to be spent on discretionary foods and drinks. Aided by community store pricing policies, healthy (recommended) diets are around 20% more affordable than current diets in these communities, but at 38.7% of disposable household income still unaffordable for most households. Further studies in urban communities, and on other socioeconomic, political and commercial determinants of food security in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities appear warranted. The development of the tailored method provides an example of how national tools can be adapted to better inform policy actions to improve food security and help reduce rates of diet-related chronic disease more equitably in developed countries.
Every policy relies on explicit or implicit assumptions about how people make choices. Those assumptions typically rest on an idealized model of how people think, rather than an understanding of how everyday thinking actually works. This year's World Development Report argues that a more realistic account of decision-making and behavior will make development policy more effective. The Report emphasizes what it calls 'the three marks of everyday thinking.' In everyday thinking, people use intuition much more than careful analysis. They employ concepts and tools that prior experience in their cultural world has made familiar. And social emotions and social norms motivate much of what they do. These insights together explain the extraordinary persistence of some social practices, and rapid change in others. They also offer new targets for development policy. A richer understanding of why people save, use preventive health care, work hard, learn, and conserve energy provides a basis for innovative and inexpensive interventions. The insights reveal that poverty not only deprives people of resources but is an environment that shapes decision making, a fact that development projects across the board need to recognize. The insights show that the psychological foundations of decision making emerge at a young age and require social support. The Report applies insights from modern behavioral and social sciences to development policies for addressing poverty, finance, productivity, health, children, and climate change. It demonstrates that new policy ideas based on a richer view of decision-making can yield high economic returns. These new policy targets include: the choice architecture (for example, the default option); the scope for social rewards; frames that influence whether or not a norm is activated; information in the form of rules of thumb; opportunities for experiences that change mental models or social norms. Finally, the Report shows that small changes in context have large effects on behavior. As a result, discovering which interventions are most effective, and with which contexts and populations, inherently requires an experimental approach. Rigor is needed for testing the processes for delivering interventions, not just the products that are delivered
The object of research is the tourist space of the European Union (EU). One of the most problematic places is the significant territorial diversity of the European tourist space, manifested by a different level of development of the tourism industry. The segmentation of the European space is done according to the level of development of the tourism industry with the help of the cluster model and the allocation of 7 clusters of EU countries by the level of development of the tourism industry. It is concluded that with regard to the hierarchy of sub-indices, the resource component and, accordingly, the natural and cultural resources sub-index has the greatest value in the segmentation process of the EU countries by the level of development of the tourism industry. The "Public policy and the creation of favorable conditions in the field of travel and tourism" and "Infrastructure" sub-indices have about the same significance for the segmentation of the EU countries by the level of development of the tourism industry. The smallest value in the segmentation process is occupied by the "Favorable environment" sub-index.In the course of the study, a factor analysis is conducted to determine significant factors in the development of the tourism industry for each segment (cluster) to further develop the main aspects of tourism policy. The conclusion is made about the significant weight of the favorable environment for such countries as Austria, Greece, Denmark, Portugal, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The development of public policy and the creation of favorable conditions in the field of travel and tourism are especially important for countries such as Austria, Greece, Denmark, Portugal, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and France. Infrastructure development is a significant factor in the development of all countries of the European tourist space, however, it has the greatest influence for such countries as: Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Malta. The resource component of the development of the tourism industry most influences the development of the tourism industry in such countries as Spain, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Ireland. This provides the opportunity to segment the European tourist competitive space with the subsequent improvement of the tourist policy of the European Union. This work presents the results of a research regarding the élite of Asti and the cultural factors that determine its role in the local governance performance. Starting from determining the difficulties of this territory to elaborate a shared vision of a new and effective trajectory of future development, the research aimed at focusing on the dynamics of power and of shared meanings that hinder this process, with the purpose of identifying possible strategies of change. The composition and stratification of local elite and features of local decision-making process were identified through a mixed method approach, based on positional, reputational, decisional and social network analysis. The analysis of the elite's discourse about local development highlighted a strong polarization both concerning the self-representation of local power and the possible levers of development. On the one hand, an image of power as a closed system, almost exclusively focused on its self-reproduction, in contrast with a more flexible one, based on the management of a territory through local services administration. On the other hand, an expectation of development opportunities almost automatically arising from landscape and natural resources in contrast with an idea of development more based on the opportunities arising form cultural heritage (Palio and local theatre tradition), which could create synergies with University's and local tourism's development strategies.

A research paper on the perceptions to fertility of University of Zimbabwe students. ; A primary concern in developing countries, including Zimbabwe, is the formulation of policies that will bring about socio-economic development. Development planning and population planning are closely linked. The All Africa Parliamentary Conference on Population and Development (AAPCPD) in 1986, pointed out that the high population growth rate is frustrating "the achievement of Africa's economic and social goals in the areas of food and agriculture, environment, health, mortality and fertility, education, employment and migration" (Mhloyi, 1986a). The parliamentarians called for the introduction of development and family planning programmes. The 29 African countries represented at AAPCPD resolved to introduce legislation and promote programmes to improve health care; strengthen family planning information, research and other support services; provide realistic and relevant approaches to education; improve the status of women; adopt realistic migration policies; protect and restore the environment, and to formulate and implement policies and programmes that attempt to decrease high rates of population growth, in order to attain a balance between the needs and opportunities of the people and available resources (Mhloyi, 1986a). Zimbabwe and other African countries aim to establish a rate of population growth conducive to predetermined socio-economic and developmental goals.
Uneven income distribution is a problem that affects many nations throughout the world, including Indonesia, and if it is not remedied right away, the process of economic progress will be slowed. This study examines the relationship between the growth of the agricultural sector, the human development index, the labor force participation rate, and inflation in West Sumatra Province from 2007 to 2022. The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of West Sumatra Province provided secondary data that were utilised in this study's quantitative methodology. Multiple linear regression is the technique used, and data processing application analytic tools are used. The results of the regression analysis reveal that while the HDI, TPAK, and inflation variables have a significant and adverse impact on income distribution inequality, the agricultural sector development variables, as measured by agricultural sector GRDP data, have a significant and positive impact. Additionally, the findings of this study demonstrate that, from 2007 to 2022, the agriculture sector development variables of HDI, TPAK, and inflation collectively (simultaneously) have a significant impact on income distribution inequality in West Sumatra Province.

In the global economy, deepening the crisis. Output many scholars see in changing the existing economic model, which is associated with the digital revolution and digital economy development. In the article the analysis of existing approaches to the definition of "digital economy". It is proved that from the point of view of the classical understanding of the economy, it is legitimate to use the term "digital economy". The possibilities of development of the digital sector of the economy, the consequences of the use of digital technologies in the financial sphere are critically considered. The positive effects of digitalisation in the economy is possible only if the management of this process from the state in the presence of moral and professional authorities, including able to build an independent financial and investment policy. The current crisis state of the economy, growing social problems make it impossible for public investment in the digital sector, even in developed Western economies. Development and investment sectors are the largest private IT companies and TNCs that seek profits and power, both economic and political, including international level. The introduction of digital technology already shows negative trends: the growth of financial speculation and the undermining of national economies; development of criminal business; the destructive effects on the consciousness of the population; an increase in the control and management of society. In the future, with the growth of moral and intellectual degradation of the government and society that will ensure the transition to a post-capitalist model of the distribution of the economy and totalitarian society.
The article analyzes the processes of establishment of the Ukrainian model of local selfgovernment in the context of its historical development. The author attempted to create a periodization of key stages of forming the models of local self-government in Ukraine, basing it on substantial historical and political analysis. The author expresses the opinion that Ukrainian local self-government has passed six stages of its development: the Kievan Rus model, the colonial model, the national model, the soviet model, the model of "Perestroyka" and the modern hybrid model. It has been proved that the establishment of the national model of local self-government depends on the concrete conjecture of the sociopolitical process. It has been established that the peculiarities of the national development of local self-government is a derivative of socioeconomic development of the regions and the state in general. ; В представленном исследовании анализируются процессы становления украинской модели местного самоуправления в контексте его исторического развития.
