Globalization is a huge topic and here we have chosen to describe only a few pieces of a complex mosaic. Its description has a historical perspective and ranges from economic to medical, from social to demographic issues. It aims to reconstruct a background picture that places demographics in the scenario of international relations. It is possible to distinguish some themes: 1. The population is aging and enriching itself. Convergence often collides with delayed demographic transition. 2. The economic weight and political power are shifting towards Asia. 3. The technological revolution affects almost all aspects of society. 4. The increase in energy consumption and new production models make it difficult to manage the scarcity of resources. 5. Interdependence between countries does not go hand in hand with strengthening global governance.

In Poland, in the last 25 years, theologians, lawyers, sociologist and psychologists have discussed significant changes in the field of marriage and family. The political transformations caused not only economic development, but also cultural transformation and globalization of social phenomena. Among such issues there is the problem of the emigration of young polish citizens. Apart from the positive economic and cultural aspects of working abroad, some negative influence on the strength and unity of the families has been observed. In the article effort was made to examine the impact of labor migration on the reorientation of the general family in the light of matrimonial nullity processes, where the emigrant was involved as the Petitioner or the Respondent party. The author`s conclusion is that it is the last chance to create and put into practice, as soon as possible, the modern and interdisciplinary program of pastoral care directed to the families of the migrants, especially the new generation. ; In Poland, in the last 25 years, theologians, lawyers, sociologist and psychologists have discussed significant changes in the field of marriage and family. These dimensions affect all the processes of democratic participation, self reliance and social responsibility from which the vital energy and the search for meaning, that should be the main interest of any true democracy, draw their life-blood.

What is left of socialism ? This question, too, must be answered in a "project left." Certainly, socialism is no longer an accomplished or well-known model of society to tend tothrough daily political action. It can only be conceived as an uninterrupted search for the liberation of the person and his capacity for self-realization. It should be possible introducing elements of socialism into concrete society such as: equal opportunities, community welfare, control over the organization of work, the diffusion of knowledge as an instrument of freedom. This would overcome, from time to time, the contradictions and failures of capitalism and the market economy, making the person, and not only the classes, the keystone of civil coexistence. Abstract – The phenomenon of migration is one of the things which has had the greatest influence on the history of humanity, involving millions of people. Today men and women of all ages, mostly young people from economically disadvantaged areas of the planet, migrate from one continent to another, for economic, political or religious reasons. They move towards geopolitical areas which are economically and politically less troubled, leaving others where the living conditions are no longer possible. In some cases, it is a question of looking for better conditions of existence (economic causes); in other cases of mere survival (political and religious causes). Both for operational reasons and of interpretation, it is necessary to distinguish between the causes of expulsion and the consequent migration types. It is important to understand whether we are facing migration of a political or an economic nature, but it should be noted, also, that it is increasingly difficult to distinguish between politics and economics. It is a movement that creates upheaval and irreversible processes in both the countries of departure and destination. We are therefore facing a historical process of enormous importance that contributes to change the human geography and the international scene. We are facing two large economic and political areas: one of expulsion and another of attraction, with two very different types of living conditions. Every generation enjoys a condition of life and existence merely because it is born in one place rather than in another; an ascribed status that can even prevent attempts at all forms of mobility. A geographical area that is seeing its attractiveness increase is that of the EU; partly because of its colonial history, but also because of its geo-economic-political position, and also recently because of the upheavals following the fall of regimes in Eastern Europe and in the Middle East.

This article criticizes overly ambitious definitions of globalization both on theoretical & empirical grounds. Globalization seems to be a less universal & unprecedented process than often described. It also seems that its most important effects are limited to the economic sphere, while in the political one it has not destroyed the traditional organization of states or the heterogeneous nature of the international system. Its main political effects are twofold. On the one hand, in the more globalized areas, open economies demonstrate & reinforce more peaceful international relations. On the other hand, in the less globalized areas, conflicts may arise between those who want to integrate into the world economy & those who are opposed. The most important political issue arising from globalization may therefore be the future relationship between the more & the less globalized areas. 2 Tables, 4 Figures, 68 References.
