This is the first Eng translation of Causalite´ et Lois de La Nature, and is an important contribution to the theory of causation. Max Kistler reconstructs a unified concept of causation that is general enough to adequately deal with both elementary physical processes, and the macroscopic level of phenomena we encounter in everyday life. This book will be of great interest to philosophers of science and metaphysics, and also to students and scholars of philosophy of mind where concepts of causation and law play a prominent role.

Two alternating agentive nominals in Persian are distinguished by two different agentive, derivational suffixes/forms, i.e. the simple derived de-verbal nouns and synthetic compounds formed with the suffix -ande, as in gu-y-ande "reporter/speaker," xân-ande "singer," pâk-kon-ande "cleaner" versus the zero-derived synthetic compounds as in soxan-gu-Ø "speaker," "âvâz-xân-Ø "song-singer," barf-pâk-kon-Ø "windshield wiper." It is discussed that the alternation, and lack of alternation, between the two is totally predictable and productive. While the simple derived and synthetic nominals with -ande are eventive, denoting an underlying action performed by an agent external argument, their equivalent alternating synthetic compounds with the zero-suffix are non-eventive, denoting a result nominal with an instrumental or agentive denotation. The analysis is cast in the framework of Distributed Morphology.

This article deals with morphological non-active verbal voice, which characterises reflexive, middle and passive structures in Standard Albanian and Arbëresh dialects. The data, compared to those of Italian, show that the three different strategies for the realisation of Standard Albanian and Arbëresh non-active morphology interact with the categories of mood, tense and aspect. In particular, these morphological strategies determine a perfective/ imperfective split as well as a series of restrictions which convey different interpretations associated with a stative or eventive interpretation. Particular attention is paid to the possible influence of Italian structures on the Italo-Albanian varieties in the domain of non-active voice.

AbstractThis article discusses novel experiencer‐object verbs (NEOs) and proposes to align their syntax as well as the syntax of nonagentive experiencer‐object verbs to the syntax of verbs undergoing the causative alternation under similar restrictions. We provide support for the view that (i) volitional agents do not occupy the same structural position as nonvolitional causers; (ii) VoiceP creates a phase, that is, a domain of compositional interpretation, and coercion into a psychological reading takes place in the absence of this layer; (iii) clitic doubling can be sensitive to animacy in a structure that lacks Voice and in which the clitic is the reflex of movement; and (iv) the accusative case morphology of experiencers both in eventive experiencer‐object constructions and our NEO constructions is straightforwardly explained as the result of dependent‐case assignment.

This paper gives further support for the claim that the EPP feature in T and ψ‐features agreement/nominative Case assignment can be fulfilled by different elements. Some Spanish impersonal sentences will be analyzed that contain predicates selecting for a locative or dative as an external argument. The predicates under study are of two types: stative and eventive. The existential verb haber (which incorporates a locative clitic in the present tense verbal morphology) belongs to the first type. The verbs suceder, ocurrir, 'to happen', as well as meteorological verbs, belong to the second class. Data regarding word order, idiom formation, existential interpretation, raising, extraction from coordinate structures, and nominalization show that with these impersonal predicates the locative/dative PPs behave as real subjects, and contrast with those which appear in locative‐inversion constructions, which involve anteposition of an internal argument. It will be shown that these arguments bear quirky Case and are generated in the highest node in the extended VP projection.

Few months after the publication of the monographic section of Annali dell'Istituto Superioredi Sanità second issue of 2014 "Health impact of fibres with fluoro-edenitic composition", the carcinogenicity of fluoro-edenite was assessed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in the frame of Monograph 111. The IARC Working Group concluded that there is sufficient evidence in humans that exposure to fluoroedenite fibrous amphibole causes mesothelioma, and sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals. Fluoro-edenite was allocated to Group 1 (the agent is carcinogenic to humans). Now, in view of the recent IARC evaluation, eventive action in Biancavilla requires an upgrade. First of all, environmental monitoring has to be further implemented. All operations of house cleaning should be performed employing wet tools, in order to avoid dust-raising. It is very important that environmental and biological monitoring be related to epidemiological surveillance. The recently approved act of the Sicilian Government concerning a plan of health interventions in Biancavilla will favour cooperation between national, regional and local health institutions with the common goal of improving the quality and appropriateness of diagnostic and therapeutics procedures offered by the health services.

Introduction to The Problem: The election is a way to choose leaders in both the legislative and executive fields. An election mechanism is also a form of power distribution and its limitation, so elections are an important activity for national development. Through this election, there are evil sparks that can be lit by those who have an evil character; one of these sparks is money politics. Therefore, the implementation of elections required law enforcement agencies to deal with election violations and election disputes under applicable rules.Purpose/Objective Study: The purpose of this study is to find out how law enforcement in violations of money politics in Indonesia and how to deal with its violations.Design/Methodology/Approach: This article is a doctrinal one and using normative legal research methods with a statutory approach. The statutory course referred to is an approach based on legal reviewers related to the problem being discussed.Findings: In this study, the authors found that law enforcement of money politics in general elections in Indonesia must be based on established conditions. Such conditions are like implementing the regulations and force them to be implemented right away. Efforts that must be made in overcoming this violation in general elections in Indonesia are by making pre-eventive efforts. These efforts address election violations from the preparation step until the election implementation step. The second act is preventive actions, namely prevention efforts or non-penal measures before election crime. The third is a repressive effort that deals with corruption and focuses on the nature of the action, eradication, or suppression after the crime.Paper Type: Research Article
