I first became involved with international law while I was at
university. After graduating, I decided to teach public international law.
As an undergraduate, I particularly enjoyed this branch of study. I was
attracted to it because it helped me to understand the problems, challenges,
and breakthroughs in the field of international relations on a global scale.
Therefore, after facing a competitive entry process, I joined the
international law department of the Universidad de la República. It was a
small department, but the university had produced some well-known scholars
like Eduardo Jiménez de Aréchaga, who became a judge at the International
Court of Justice, and Hector Gross Espiell, who served as a judge at the
Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

This essay is located temporally in the post oligarchic Peru, in the 70's, especially in the politic and intellectual scenario that was the result of a new period. In this context took place the renewal of some ideas, it was established for a generation of left –wing young intellectuals engaged in creating and shaping a new society. They got a combination of a deep theoretical reflection and a political action that would significantly renewed social sciences and history. In this new generation of intellectuals would be recognized and well known, Alberto Flores Galindo, as an intellectual, historian and most important ideologist ; El presente ensayo está ubicado temporalmente en el Perú post-oligarquico de los años 70, particularmente en el escenario intelectual y político que se abrió como expresión de una nueva época que emergía. En este contexto se produce una renovación de las ideas, emprendida por una generación de jóvenes intelectuales de izquierda comprometidos en dar forma a una nueva sociedad, quienes combinaban una profunda reflexión teórica y acción política y que renovarían decisivamente las ciencias sociales y la historia. En esta nueva generación de intelectuales destacaría y sería reconocido ampliamente Alberto Flores Galindo como el intelectual, historiador e ideólogo más importante.

Abstract. A flora treatment for the Anthericaceae occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi is given. The family comprises only one genus in the area of the Flora: Chlorophytum. A total of 52 species, among which 3 imperfectly known ones, as well as 4 subspecies, 24 varieties and 1 form are treated. User-friendly keys to all taxa are included. Four taxa are endemic to the area, and many others appear to be rare. All species come with a full description, synonyms, data on their distribution, habitat, vernacular names and uses, as well as references to additional literature and the citation of representative specimens used. Twenty-one taxa are illustrated with colour photographs, twenty-eight by line-drawings. Upper-Katanga, especially the region around Lubumbashi, is a hotspot for the genus, with many taxa threatened by deforestation and urbanisation. ; info:eu-repo/semantics/published
