; Data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE in the Spanish acronym) show that, since 2011, the figures for divorces are remarkably stable at around 100,000 every year with half of them involving offspring who are still minors. However, there has been a notable spike in shared custody to the detriment of the earlier paradigm of the mother having exclusive custody and the father visitation rights. Between 2011 and 2016 the figure for joint custody rose from 12% to 28% of divorces where minors are involved. This increase, led by the autonomous regions of Spain with favourable legislation, reflects social changes of a broader scope embracing gender equality within and outside the home. Analysis of the INE series, in addition to work on all 5,894 never-previously-explored divorce and separation (for de facto couples) settlements from the family courts of the city of Barcelona, shows that shared custody means, at least on paper, equity between father and mother, both with regard to alternating residence of the children and also sharing child-related costs. Given this situation, one might ask whether it might be a good idea to grant joint custody by default after the parents have separated. The answer is a resounding no. Joint custody should be the result of an agreement that reflects prior co-parenting practice in equality, and this is far from being a majority situation nowadays.

; In the last years, some specific legislation has appeared in Catalonia and Spain in order to assure and recognize women's rights. Court, city and queenship in 16thcentury Spain. Queens' entries into cities became a focal point for political and ideological discourse in early modern Spain. Construed as some of the monarchy's greatest public events, they provided numerous occasions for kingship glorification and legitimization, while overlooking its shortcomings and flaws. From a cultural perspective, they allowed for the development of complex iconographic programmes and chaotic decorative ensembles, visually staging gender relationships in the urban environment. This essay offers an overview for this type of pageantry in Spanish 16th century, through remaining literary accounts.

Leave the violence is possible by gender perspectives, ie by working with myself and those around us, work based on the legacy of decades and decades of thoughts and practices of women who were sensitive, and at the same time demands, to the individual and collective experiences of social domination and subjugation that women have suffered only by the fact of being. These women whisper to us like sirens and make us question the more unquestionable than ever we have raised in our everyday lives, and so often we have believed and followed blindly, without reason or sense
; Objective. This study analyses the history of the "Premios Nacionales de Investigación", a suite of awards for scientific research organised by the Spanish government, from the creation of the first awards in 1982 to 2019 and from the perspective of gender, in order to identify differences and similarities between the awards given to men and to women. Methodology. The study describes and compares the awards using the five indicators award name, area of research, recipient, recipient gender and award money. To determine the scope, visibility and impact of the awards, the study also examines the award winners' presence in Google Scholar using the four indicators presence, citations, h-index and i10-index. Results. The overall results reveal a persistent and pronounced gender gap. Of the 113 awards granted in the period under study, 102 (92.3%) went to men, and of the 1,340,649 citations counted in Google Scholar, only 4.7% were of women authors. The study concludes that women are clearly under-represented in Spain's national awards for scientific research, although when the data are related to visibility in Google Scholar, the results regarding the dissemination of research by women is more promising.

Theatre for Development (TfD) is a process whereby the community uses theatre, especially African traditional theatre forms, to address their development issues. In Tanzania, TfD came as a result of many factors; poor communication approaches used by the state in addressing development in the late 1970s, the economic crisis of the 1970s, the implementation of IMF and World Bank pressure to adopt Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) among others. Liberal policies imposed mostly from Euro-America proposed non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to replace the state in addressing development, as they were perceived to be more democratic and less authoritative. Most of the supported activities of NGOs became those linked to development or that are in the position to bring about development in the fields of health, sanitation, education, gender, and democracy. Therefore, even theatre that was supported by donors was linked to or addressed 'development'. In most cases, funding institutions have their own objectives, missions, and goals to fulfil. This paper tries to question the role of TfD in present Tanzania. It argues that, since most of the TfD projects have been funded by foreign donors and communities have no economic control of their own development concerns, it is clear that TfD is playing a double deal, community empowerment on the one hand and disempowerment on the other.
