From contraception rights in 1965, to abortion rights in 1974, and demands for parity in 1995, the French presidential election has been the theater for debate on the principle of equal rights between the sexes which has been a constitutional right in France since 1946. The 2012 French presidential election was characterised by intense media coverage of the subject, focussing in particular on equal pay, the struggle to end violence against women, and parity. The discussion will firstly focus on the political dimension of attitudes towards gender equality in the election campaign, and will then look at whether this election saw the end of gender-based electoral behavior. Since the 1980s, electoral analyses have underlined the alignment of male-female electoral behavior explaining this in terms of their new-found socioeconomic autonomy. The reticence of women to vote for the National Front was interpreted as an expression of socio-demographic differences (in particular concerning age and religion) that expressed certain value issues. Analysis of the 2012 Présidoscopie and the post-election survey carried out by the Cevipof sheds light on current developments and changes in the French-style gender gap. It offers an explanation for the notable alignment of the male-female vote for the National Front, showing how the social repositioning of the party has increased their appeal in particular to sections of the population where job insecurity is highest and which include large numbers of women.

Since 2000, new women's movements emerge like Ni putes ni soumises (NPNS) who give a new approach to activism: not the one on feminists in the classical sense of the term with the connotations it carries, but women carrying claims in the media and through the media on the living conditions of the residents of the suburbs. So, many media will take part in the mediatization of NPNS and its discourses, and will serve in some way as a place of "factory" for the public opinion.

After questioning the political dimension of the attitude towards equality between men and women in the 2012 presidential election campaign, the discussion will bear on question the alignment of the women and men electoral behavior. The analysis of the 2012 Presidoscopie and post-election survey by the Cevipof enlightens the current events and the evolution of the French-style. It associates the overtaking of its third phase characterized in particular by the reluctance of women to vote for the far right. Adapted from the source document.

Within the Romanian socio-cultural and political space, hygiene developed during the 19th century and in close connection to both modernization and the nation state building processes. As argued in the first part of the article, at that time hygiene was not only a governmentality technique (Foucault) but also a significant means for conveying and legitimizing national ideology. Through an analysis of medical bibliographies from the second half of the 19th century as first-hand data, the study presents three of the most frequent themes within the hygiene literature imbued with national ideology: the peasantry, anti-Semitism and alcoholism. The last part investigates the embedded gender dimension of these writings, revealing the intricate links between nation building and the construction of gender identities. In this respect, it shows particularly how the hygienist discourse defines and publicly promotes maternity as a "natural destiny" and a "civic duty" of the women.
