The religious revival in the U's, as the alleged swing to the Right, has probably been exaggerated. The most noticeable feature is a waning interest in pol & a vehement searching for escape. The heroes of the young generation are outlaws & guerrillas of the mind. Weariness of spirit has led the weak to seek refuge in romanticism or dogmatism. Reason has been discredited and though the undergrad may continue to believe in it, society shows no eagerness to let him use his own. The intellectuals have become a caste & rationalism a class. Rationalism is revealed in a morbid interest in sociol; irrationalism in fear of soc org. Thus the impulse to escape to environments which make no demand & the revival of interest in folk & folk music. Irrationalism has become manifest in a certain form of rationalism. (IPSA).

An analysis of inter-generation (I-G) relations in Israeli society, particularly in regard to the existence & solution of I-G tensions both in the older Jewish community of the period before the establishment of the State of Israel & among the new immigrant youth who came to Israel after the establishment of the new State. In the process of adaptation of immigrants into a community there is a diminution of the family's effectiveness in satisfying the needs & desires of its members, especially the youthful members, & there exists limitation of specific youth groups & youth culture. Within the Jewish community in Palestine there are many types of youth groups & youth movements differing in their goals & values,_ their manner of internal organization & in the degree to which they are considered legitimate in the soc structure.
