The purpose of this research is to determine the feasibility of using the header fields and header extensions of IPv6 packets to encode mission metadata into computer network streams. Specifically, this thesis seeks to answer several research questions addressing the performance of different packet header encoding methods, specifically which method provides the least end-to-end delay of a file transfer over a hypothetical network as well as which method produces the least amount of additional network overhead during its operation in the hypothetical network. The research questions are answered through a comprehensive literature review and with the use of several network performance calculations. Results are analyzed and a final recommendation is given for which method would best meet the stated need. Ultimately, this research highlights a new way of tracking and reporting to military leaders the status of operational missions and tasks should a network outage or degradation occur.

This book examines the driving dynamics of harvesting machines with large harvesting heads. It looks at how to efficiently use these machines. The author explores a common problem that hinders machine performance when harvesting with very large headers. He deals with concepts for reducing the undesired effects of vehicle dynamics when using these machines. With the steadily increasing capacity of harvesting machines, the working widths of the harvesting heads get wider and the headers get heavier. It has become essential with these giant headers to use header height sensors and header control systems to avoid the headers from being run into the ground when encountering elevation changes in the terrain. A fundamental limitation of the viable speed of header height adjustments arises from the combination of the wider and heavier headers with soft agricultural tires. The current solution to find an appropriate speed of header height adjustments is to perform a header calibration whenever a new header is attached to the machine and to endow the machine operator with the capability to tweak the speed of adjustments manually. The result of an inappropriate speed of height adjustments is a reduction in overall productivity and an under-utilization of the harvesting machine. The author looks at ways to prevent this. He offers detailed modeling of the vertical dynamics including dynamic wheel loads. In addition, the book contains results from simulations and machine tests. The Author Dr.-Ing. Voting Advice Applications (VAAs) provide voting recommendations to millions of people. As these voting recommendations are based on users' answers to attitude questions, the framing of these questions can have far-reaching consequences. The current study reports on a field experiment in which the framing of the header above VAA statements (N = 17) was manipulated (condition 1: no header; condition 2: a right-wing header, e.g., finance; condition 3: a left-wing header, e.g., nature and environment). Visitors of a VAA developed for Utrecht, the fourth largest municipality in the Netherlands, were randomly guided to one of the versions of the tool in which the header type was varied. Results (based on N respondents = 27,404) show that providing a header (left-wing or right-wing) leads to more left-wing answers as compared a condition where there is no header above the attitude statement. This effect, however, is only observed for respondents with lower levels of political sophistication.

Our understanding of antique imaging is not immediate, the identification of some depicted scenes or figures is sometimes problematic, especially in the absence of unambiguous iconographic or textual codes. We will take as examples two headers of Athenian alliance treaties from the first half of the 4th century before our era between Athens and Corcyre on the one hand and Athens and four Peloponnese cities and territories on the other. The composition of the scenes of these two bas-reliefs is indeed similar, yet the identification of two different figures differs: in one case, it would be Zeus and Hera, in the other, personifications of the city of Corcyre or the Peloponnese and the dèmos. With these two examples, we will illustrate the complexity of the relationship between this type of representation and the associated registration, by questioning the criteria for the representation and identification of figures of divinity or personifications. Gidian Archives is a database created from the press cuttings preserved by André Gide in his personal collection. The archive consists of articles published during his life on the author's work, his person and his influence on the society and culture of his age. It is well known that the 'key contemporary', as Gide was called, represents an essential reference point for several generations of intellectuals. Thus the articles in Gidian Archives provide crucial evidence on the history of thought across half a century. In addition to press cuttings tracing the critical reception of each of Gide's works, the archives contain polemical articles on his cultural interventions, on his political commitments and on matters of contemporary concern. Through what his professional readers say about Gide it is possible to follow the careers of other writers who declared and defined their own thought in dialogue with his. Similarly, the evolution of periodicals which published texts on Gide can be traced by means of this key research tool. The interest of the collection extends well beyond Gide studies. The archive is rich in information on numerous aspects of the history of literature, society, culture, politics, ideology, etc., in the first half of the twentieth century. The Search Engine makes it possible to find articles on a given theme ('mots clefs') or an individual ('noms propes'). One can track down all the articles by a particular writer ('auteur') or published in a specific review ('Titre de la revue'). Similarly, items can be selected by date.

The travelogue of the monk Xuanzang (600-664) recounts his journey via Central Asia to India from c.627-645 and preserves invaluable information on the society and religion of the polities he visited. Together with the records of Faxian (c.320-420) and Yijing (635-713), Xuanzang's travelogue is the most detailed description of ancient India and Central Asia we have. Samuel Beal's translation of the Datang xiyu ji by the monk Xuanzang, was one of the early important breakthroughs in Asian studies. His detailed annotations reflect the highest standard of 19th century scholarship and have served generations of researchers.

The Japanese government published a list of the 1,945 most commonly-used basic kanji in 1981. This database contains 27 seperate descriptions (cells) of each basic Japanese kanji which cover such fields as classification, frequency of use, number of strokes, pronunciation, etc.

The Clouds was first produced in the drama festival in Athens—the City Dionysia—in 423 BC, where it placed third. Subsequently the play was revised, but the revisions were never completed. The text which survives is the revised version, which was apparently not performed in Aristophanes' time but which circulated in manuscript form. This revised version does contain some anomalies which have not been fully sorted out (e.g., the treatment of Cleon, who died between the original text and the revisions). At the time of the first production, the Athenians had been at war with the Spartans, off and on, for a number of years.
