The purpose of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of using interactive technologies in the process of teaching a foreign language at a higher educational institution. The principal result of our research is the analysis of the influence of using interactive techniques on acquiring communicative competence and personal development. The major conclusions estimate the significance of applying interactive technologies in learning process.
In the process of work with students (post-graduate students, interns, teachers), the application of interactive forms of work has proven its effectiveness and relevance. At the same time, we should expand the methodological diversity of the interactive, involve such forms of work that best as possible meet the needs of the blended learning format.
Quest as an interactive technology has many advantages – from a collective goal setting, definition of a strategy of movement to coordinated performance of intermediate tasks, search for substantiations and presentation of a collective decision. The main thing is that there are no obstacles to the realization of the educational quest, such as online or offline, because the help comes from the interactive board Miro.
The purpose of the work is to substantiate the peculiarities of the application of the educational quest as a game technology in blended and distance education with the goal of deepening the motivation of students of higher education institutions of Ukraine, in particular medical ones; to intensify scientific research activities, to improve interaction in groups and teams, to promote the development of clinical thinking and communicative competence.
Research methods. Theoretical (processing of the source base) and empirical (development and implementation of didactic quests in educational activities) research methods were used in the work. Due to the combination of these components, the expediency of application of quest-technologies in a blended form of education in higher education institutions is substantiated.
Conclusions. Thanks to the involvement of quests, those who study will not only save motivation, but they will also structure, renew, update the acquired knowledge for further professional growth.
Quests do not require students to be physically present in the classroom, and under the condition of a proper organization (script, route sheets for teams), the final result of their conducting in the format of blended education (through ZOOM, MIRO, another online platform for group work) is quite high.
It is also interesting to note that quests in the form close to the competition, provide the opportunity to carry out summative and formative assessment, which is extremely important for monitoring the quality of knowledge.
The application of educational quests in higher medical education with the involvement of interactive online boards opens up the opportunity to provide active interaction of subjects of training in conditions of a blended format.
During the quest, the teacher performs the functions of a moderator, since organizational moments and the working atmosphere during group communication depend on him, as well as possible help in the form of vector direction (if the discussion has reached a dead end), and substantiation of the final results.
The teacher investigation competence should be considered as one of the most important components of his professional pedagogical competence. Its formation could be observed during students investigation activity. There is a comparative analysis of study and scientific activity in the article? Worldwide and mainly in the European Union, many standards, regulations, models and systems exists for the evaluation and identification of stakeholders' requirements of individual universities and higher education (HE) in general. All systems are targeting to measure or evaluate the Universities' Quality Assurance Systems and the services offered to the recipients of HE, mainly the students. Numerous surveys were conducted in the past either by each university or by organized bodies to identify the students' satisfaction or to evaluate to what extent these requirements are fulfilled. In this paper, the main results of an ongoing 6-year joint research will be presented very briefly. This research deals with an in depth investigation of student's satisfaction, students personal requirements, a cup analysis among these two parameters and compares different universities. Through this research an attempt will be made to address four very important questions in higher education establishments (HEE): (1) Are there any common requirements, parameters, good practices or questions that apply to a large number of universities that will assure that students' requirements are fulfilled? (2) Up to what extent the individual programs of HEE fulfil the requirements of the stakeholders? (3) Are there any similarities on specific programs among European HEE? (4) To what extent the knowledge acquired in a specific course program is utilized or used in a specific country? For the execution of the research an internationally accepted questionnaire(s) was used to evaluate up to what extent the students' requirements and satisfaction were fulfilled in 2012 and five years later (2017). Samples of students and or universities were taken from many European Universities. Purpose. The paper studies the issue of training foreign language teachers in Ukraine of the 20th century. The origins of training linguistic professionals for school date back to the early 1900s. Throughout the century, the higher educational system faced a myriad of changes, including curricula (courses, academic hours, teaching practices, etc.) and teaching approaches, falling under the influence of political regimes. Reforming the national educational system nowadays, the main focus is on sharing European practices. Methodology. The general scientific, chronological, comparative, retrospective and interpretational methods were used in the article. Theoretical basis. The work presents the definitions of «professional training» and «training foreign language teachers» concepts, as well as offers the overview of pedagogical studies of Ukrainian researchers interested in training foreign language teachers at higher pedagogical establishments of Ukraine in the 20th century: Olha Misechko (2011), Volodymyr Okolovych (2014), Olena Shmyrko (2016), Olena Shenderuk (2017). Originality. Analyzing the changes of curricula for foreign language teachers, the authors note the increasing importance of innovative technologies based on strong methodological skills, deep language knowledge with an accent on communication. Conclusions. The authors argue that traditional basics are worth inheriting, including practical training (observation, assistant and teaching practices); proper organization of education process (professional staff of university chairs specializing in philological, methodological, pedagogical, psychological and innovation-technological disciplines); a balanced ratio between general educational, philological and methodological cycles in curricula, initial introduction to theoretical and further following of practical subjects; the growing role of professional life-long self-education and self-development.
Dramatic changes in political, economic, cultural, scientific, and technological spheres, which have taken place in recent decades, have caused noticeable alterations in different societal domains, including education. Through the prism of the modern educational paradigm that mainly focuses on meeting the needs of human beings, nowadays, a special place is occupied by ICTs and their integration into the educational process. The present research is devoted to both theoretical evidence and practical implementation of automated writing evaluation (AWE) tool "Write and Improve" into language learning at a higher educational establishment. We use experimental method titled case study, which allows finding out ways to incorporate the software mentioned above into EFL. First and foremost, the author analyses fundamental and contemporary studies in the realm of ICT integration into language teaching, learning, and assessment. Special attention is paid to AWE as cutting-edge software, which utilizes artificial intelligence to assess students' writing. The data under investigation indicate that using AWE computer-assisted programs facilitates students' management and increases motivation for writing and revision. The article sets a goal to demonstrate that "Write and Improve" is an example of innovative technology to enhance writing as an essential academic competency. Based on profound theoretical substantiations, the author conducts the experiment to test the research hypothesis in the case study. Within the framework of the article's written tasks, university students who study English as their major subject at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv have been chosen. The attempted investigation proved "Write and Improve" to be highly effective among language learners, thus worth being introduced not only into teaching and learning but also assessment.
