This handbook suggests a global, transnational perspective on the history of education as a field. Apart from an introductory chapter written by the editors, the text includes 36 articles divided into six parts. Each article describes a subject in the field and ends with a bibliography for further reading. As repeatedly stressed in the book, this field has developed since the early nineteenth century with the emergence of the modern nation-state. Its scope and content expanded and underwent some transformations since the 1960s with the introduction of new perspectives, issues, and methods through interaction with the discipline of history and the broader social sciences.

History comes across as a product of the effort to create social memory, written or verbal. It is based on information and documents and avoids emotional biases. Music, on the other hand, is a multifaceted phenomenon and its aim to entertain shapes it. On one hand, it interprets emotions, and on the other hand it bears the social, cultural and historical codes of the society to which it belongs. For this reason, it is possible to discover specific details of historical events in the kilams/songs of dengbêjs, important exponents of the Kurdish music of orality. This study focuses on unveiling traces of historical events in the songs of the dengbêjs, in context of the relationship between history and music. Information and documents dealing with the Kozanoğlu events in kilam/songs are compared. A good example of the importance of the dengbêjs in Kurdish history is taken from when in the 19th century, the Ottoman state established a military unit called Fırka-i Islahiye as a part of its policy of asserting its full dominance in rural areas, and also to carry out compulsory resettlement policies. In order to support the operation, the Kurdish chief Sürmeli Memed Pasha set out, taking with him under his auspices Evdale Zeynikê, a dengbej singer. However, the Kurdish troops reaching Kozan were defeated due to the climatic conditions and the cholera epidemic. Witnessing all the events, Evdale Zeynikê sang kilam/songs for every stop on the route and on the death of the Pasha. Throughout this account, which is based in Kurdish culture and immured with a strong dengbêj tradition, it is possible to find details of Kurdish history in the kilams/songs of the dengbêjs.

This research aims to evaluate the developments in the recent history of the social studies course in Turkey (1998-2022) through the curricula. Since 1998, 2005, and 2018 social studies curricula and literature studies were used as data sources, the research conducted with the document analysis method. The data were evaluated by the thematic analysis method. At the end of the research, it was determined that the 1998 curriculum, which was first prepared with a behavioral approach, did not fully reflect the understanding of contemporary social studies. Secondly, the 2005 curriculum, which was prepared with a constructivist approach, emphasized individual identity instead of social identity, unlike the curricula prepared until that time. Furthermore, the 2005 curriculum brought many innovations such as learning strands, sub-disciplines, skills, concepts, values, activity recommendations, and assessment and evaluation elements that did not exist in previous curricula. Moreover, while sub-disciplines, skills, concepts, and activity recommendations were not included in the 2018 curriculum, some values were removed and some new values were added instead. Finally, it has been seen that the 2018 curriculum includes various competencies and literacy, unlike the 2005 curriculum. Based on these results, it can be suggested that the 2018 curriculum be updated in more detail to guide teachers.

The aim of this research is to reveal the bibliometric analysis of the published articles on collective memory. For this purpose, journal articles published in the Web of Science database were examined. In the Web of Science database, the keywords; collective memory" was searched in the categories of history, geography, and educational research. The study material is limited to 1986-2021 as the year, English as the publication language and SSCI, ESCI and A&HCI as indexes. The data obtained from the Web of Science database were analyzed with the bibliometrix package included in the RStudio program. Related to the subject of collective memory, annual production, the most relevant authors, the most relevant journals, the number of article productions in countries, the most frequently used sources, the most used keywords in the researches and the current trends in the articles on the subject of collective memory were determined in the journal articles. As a result of the research, it was identified that in recent years, when the articles written on the subject of social memory in history, geography and education researches have been increasing and diversifying, issues such as commemorative culture, space, violence, power and politics have created a trend towards this field. It was determined that the most relevant countries for the subject area were the USA, England, Israel, Germany and Canada. In the articles written on collective memory, it was determined that the most frequently used keywords of the researchers were history, politics, identity, memory, war, place, holocaust, and commemoration culture. It is thought that these results will give perspective to researchers who plan to conduct research in this field.

Çevre, yaşanan çevre sorunları ve ekonomik krizlerle ilişkili olarak 1970'li yıllardan itibaren devlet ve hükümetlerin gündemlerinde yer edinmeye başlamıştır. Bu çerçevede hem ulusal hem de uluslararası düzeyde pek çok girişimde bulunulmuş ve "çevre" bir politika nesnesi haline gelmiştir. Çevre politikası, hava, toprak, su, gürültü ve görüntü kirliliği, iklim değişikliği, ozon tabakasının incelmesi, biyolojik çeşitliliğin azalması, doğal kaynakların tükenmesi, katı ve sıvı atıklar, erozyon, enerji kaynakları, nüfus artışı, yoksulluk gibi kesin sınırları çizilmesi çok zor olan birçok çevre sorununu ve çözümünü kapsamaktadır. Çevre sorunlarının çok boyutluluğuna ve sınır tanımaz özelliğine rağmen, ekonomik gelişmişlik ve büyümenin gerisinde yer almasına bağlı olarak, bu geniş boyutlu politika alanı gündemin arka sıralarında kalmıştır.1923'ten itibaren Türkiye'de tüm politikaların hem yapılması hem uygulanmasında temel belirleyici faktör hükümetler olmuştur. Bu çerçevede politika analizi çalışmalarında kamu politikasının oluşturulması ve uygulanması sürecinde baş aktör hükümetlerdir. Hükümetler temel kamu politikalarını belirlemekten, kamu kurumları da hükümetin belirlediği bu politikaları uygulamaktan sorumludur. Hükümet programındaki hedefler hükümetlerin iktidar sürelerinde kamu politikasına dönüşmektedir. Bu nedenle hükümet programları üst politika belgelerinden biri olarak kabul edilebilir. Türkiye, Cumhuriyet tarihinde çok farklı dönemlerden geçmiş ve Türkiye'de altmış beş hükümet kurulmuştur. Sosyo-kültürel, ideolojik ve ekonomik farklılıklar bu dönemlere damgasını vurmuş, tüm politikalarda olduğu gibi çevre politikaları da bu süreçte değişmiştir. Dönemin siyasal sistemine ve ekonomik programlarına bağlı olarak çevre politikası aktif ya da pasif hale getirilmiş, öncelikler değiştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada üst politika belgelerinden olan hükümet programları ve kalkınma planları üzerinden bu tarihsel süreçteki Türk çevre politikası analiz edilecektir ; Environment had been placed at state and government agendas since 1970's regarding to exposed environment problems and economical crisis. In this frame, many attempts in both national and international level had been done and it became a policy object. Environment policy covers many environment problems of which certain borders cannot be drawn and resolutions likes air, soil, water, noise and visual pollution, climate change, thinning of ozone layer, decreasing of biological variety, depletion of natural resources, solid and liquid waste, erosion, energy resources, population increase, poverty, etc. Despite of multi dimension and unlimited feature of environment problems, this wide dimensioned policy field became behind of agenda depending on its being at the behind of economical development and progressing.Since 1923, both maker and applicator of the all policies in Turkey has been government. The head actor is government at composing and applying public policies at the policy analysis studies in this frame. The governments are responsible to determine basic Public Policies; public organizations are responsible to apply those determined policies by the governments. The objectives in government program turn into public policy after governments coming into power. Therefore government programs can be accepted one of higher policy documents. Turkish Republic had very different periods in its history and sixty five governments have been established in Turkey. Socio-cultural, ideological and economic differences leaved mark on those periods; environment policies have been changed in this period as it is same in all policies. Depending on political system and economical program of the period, environment policy became active or passive; priorities have been changed. Turkish Environment Policies will be analyzed over Government programs and development plans that are included in higher policy documents within this historical period

Bu çalışma; uluslararası ilişkilerde çevre gündemi, çevre bilincinin gelişimi ve çevre rejimlerinin başarısını tartışmakta ve büyük oranda durum tespit edici bir analiz sunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır: Birinci bölümde, uluslararası ilişkilerin çevresel gündemi ele alınmaktadır. "Çevre" sepeti içine atılan güvenlikten biyoçeşitliliğe kadar birçok alt başlığın çevresel gündemin gelişmesine katkıda bulunduğu değerlendirilmektedir. İkinci bölümde, çevresel bilincin gelişimi bağlamında 1972 Stockholm ile başlayan ve 2015 Paris İklim Anlaşması'na kadar olan süreçte çevreyi korumaya yönelik uluslararası girişimler/sözleşmeler tartışılmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise, uluslararası ilişkilerin önemli bir sorunu/konusu haline gelen çevreye ilişkin uluslararası rejimlerin başarısı değerlendirilmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bazı konularda başarılı şekilde kurulan ve işleyen rejimlerin çevre konusunda aynı şekilde kurulamamış olduğu görülmektedir. Bu başarısızlıktaki en büyük etmen ise çevreyi en çok kirleten veya çevreye en fazla zararı veren aktörlerin korumaya dönük düzenlemelere taraf olsa bile aynı zamanda sorumluluk almaktan kaçan temel aktörler olmasıdır. Çevresel/doğal kaynaklara sahip olma ve onları aşırı kullanarak çevreye zarar verme noktasında aktörlerin aynı kapasitede olmaması da rejimlerin başarısını etkilemektedir. Karşılıklı bağımlılığın oranı da bu anlamda önemlidir. Karşılıklı bağımlılığın çok derin olduğu çevre konusunda da kolektif eylemlerde sorumluluktan kaçma davranışının zararları fazlası ile gözlenmektedir. Bu çalışmanın uluslararası ilişkilerde çevresel gündemin inşası, çevre bilincinin gelişimi ve uluslararası çevre rejiminin birlikte değerlendirilerek özellikle Türkçe literatüre katkı sağlaması umulmaktadır ; This study argues the environmental agenda, the development of environmental awareness, and the success of environmental regimes in international relations. In this context, the study consists of three parts. In the first chapter, the environmental agenda of international relations is discussed. It is evaluated that many sub-topics from environmental security to biodiversity contribute to the development of environmental agenda. In the second chapter, international initiatives/conventions for environmental protection are discussed in the context of the development of environmental awareness, in the process from Stockholm in 1972 and up to the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015. In the third chapter, the success of the international regimes related to the environment, which has become an important issue of international relations, is evaluated. In this respect, it appears that in some cases regimes have been successfully established and functioned but in issue of environment have not been established in the same way. The biggest factor in this failure is that the actors who the most polluter the environment, or the ones that cause the most damage to the environment, are the main actors to escape from taking responsibility at the same time, even if they are shareholders to the protective regulations. The fact that actors are also not at the same capacity at the point of having environmental/natural resources and overusing them, is affecting the success of the regimes. It is observed harms of buck-passing behaviors in collective actions in issue of environment in which interdependence is so profound. It is hoped that this study will provide significant contributions to Turkish literature

Emekli topçu yarbayı Amerikalı askeri tarihçi Edward J. Erickson'ın The Turkish War of Independence: A Military History, 1919-1923 adlı yeni kitabı Mayıs 2021'de California'da Praeger Yayınları tarafından basılmıştır. Erickson, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Avrupa ve Orta Doğu'da sahra topçuluğu ve kurmay hizmetlerinde bulunmuş, İzmir'deki NATO Güneydoğu Avrupa Kara Kuvvetleri Karargâhında görev yapmış, İngiltere'deki Leeds Üniversitesi'nden tarih doktorası almış ve şimdiye kadar on altı kitap ve çok sayıda makale yayınlamıştır. Birinci Dünya Savaşında Orta Doğu konusunda uzmanlığıyla tanınmıştır. Birinci kitabı olan Ordered to Die: A History of the Ottoman Army in the First World War'ın önsözünü zamanın Genelkurmay Başkanı Orgeneral Hüseyin Kıvrıkoğlu yazmıştır. Halen New York'ta ikamet eden Erickson Antalya Bilim Üniversitesi'nde uluslararası ilişkiler profesörüdür.

Yüksek Lisans Tezi ; Tarih boyunca her dönemde ve çeşitli coğrafyalarda devletler kuran Türk milleti, daima teşkilatçı özelliğini korumuş ve bu özelliğiyle ön plana çıkmıştır. İslâmiyet öncesi dönemde kurulan Türk devletlerinde, vezirlik müessesesi bulunmamakta, bu müesseseye muadil yabguluk ve ayguçılık gibi makamlar bulunmaktaydı. Bu dönemde, özellikle II. Göktürk Devleti'nde Bilge Tonyukuk vesilesiyle ön plana çıkan ayguçılık, vezirliğe muadil bir makam olmuştur. İslâmiyet'in kabulünden sonra kurulan Türk devletlerinin teşkilat yapısında ise, vezirlik müessesesi önemli bir yer edinmiştir. Vezirlik müessesesi, yasama, yürütme ve yargı yetkilerine hükümdarın mutlak vekili sıfatıyla sahip olan vezirin başında bulunduğu bir makamdır. Hükümdardan hemen sonra gelen vezirler, hükümdar adına devleti fiilen idare etmişlerdir. Çeşitli dönem ve devletlerde vezirlik müessesesinin durumunda değişiklikler söz konusu olmuştur. Ancak genel olarak, dîvan başkanlığı, malî konular, memurların tayin ve azli, diplomatik ilişkiler, şikâyet dinleme ve çözüme kavuşturma, kural koyma, ordunun başında sefere çıkma gibi devlet idaresine ilişkin hemen her konu vezirlerin yetki ve sorumluluğunda olmuştur. Devletlerin yükseliş ve gerilemelerinde dâhi, vezirlerin liyakat durumlarının etkili olduğu öne sürülmüştür. Bu önemli müessesenin Türk devlet anlayışı çerçevesinde, yönetim bakış açısıyla bütüncül bir şekilde ele alınmasının gerekliliği düşüncesiyle, Göktürk Devleti, Karahanlı Devleti, Selçuklu Devleti ve Osmanlı Devleti'nde vezirlik müessesesi bu çalışmada ele alınmıştır. Bu devletlerin vezirlik müessesesi ele alınırken, Türk yönetim tarihinde oldukça önem verilen "bilgelik" unsuru bağlamında siyasetnâme/nasihatnâme türünde eser sahibi olan vezirler tercih edilmiştir. Göktürk Devleti'nde Bilge Tonyukuk'un "Tonyukuk Abidesi", Karahanlı Devleti'nde Yusuf Has Hacib'in "Kutadgu Bilig", Selçuklu Devleti döneminde Nizamü'l Mülk'ün "Siyasetnâme" ve Osmanlı Devleti'nde Lütfi Paşa'nın "Asafnâme" isimli eserleri bulunmaktadır. ; Establishing ...
