The starting point is the versions of the widely disseminated myth of the mellizo registered among the guaranes of Calilegua (Jujuy, Argentina), I propose to analyse their historical and political implications in the light of some of the contributions of ontological turmoil. The narrative of the mellizo allows the guaranes with whom they work to reflect on their origins and to think about history as an ancestral people who expanded into the Americas in mythical times. Far from abstraction, this myth implies a historical and political position against the narratives stigmatising Jujuy's guaranes as foreigners and calling into question their ancestrality in the territory. Taking indigenous mythology seriously leads to no longer establishing the truth or forgery of certain native stories and stories or whether or not they coincide with histography, but points to the political project of pluralising history. ; Tomando como punto de partida versiones del ampliamente difundido mito de los mellizos registradas entre los guaraníes de Calilegua (Jujuy, Argentina), me propongo analizar sus implicancias histórico-políticas a la luz de algunos de los aportes del giro ontológico. El relato de los mellizos les permite a los guaraníes con quienes trabajo reflexionar sobre su origen y pensarse en la historia como pueblo ancestral que en tiempos míticos se expandió por el continente americano. Lejos de una abstracción, este mito implica un posicionamiento histórico y político frente a los discursos que estigmatizan a los guaraníes de Jujuy como "extranjeros" y ponen en tela de juicio su ancestralidad en el territorio. Tomar en serio la mitología indígena conduce ya no a determinar la verdad o falsedad de ciertos relatos e historias nativos o la coincidencia o no con la historiografía, sino que apunta al proyecto político de pluralizar la historia.

The article demonstrates how Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) geographic headings for the Southern Levant mirror the political investment of Congress and the American public in Middle East politics over the last thirty years. The headings' evolution as well as Library of Congress rules governing their creation is charted in detail. These LCSH headings contrast markedly with those established in other national libraries (BnF, DNB) and independent value vocabularies (TGN, GeoNames), and global opinion regarding the legal status of the occupied territories. I sketch the historical context of their formation and offer suggestions as to how libraries can "decolonize" their metadata in service of Sanford Berman's "access and equity."

The study was carried out as part of their programme of assessment of technological choices for the Scientific Policy Council and the Economic and Social Council of the Walloon Region. The objective of the research is twofold. On the one hand, the aim is to analyse the evolution of products, services, businesses, professions and jobs in a sector which plays a key role in French-speaking Belgium and which also has a significant cultural impact. On the other hand, in the light of this sectoral study, more general trends need to be identified in terms of flexible organisation, new forms of work and the transformation of skills and qualifications. ; L'étude a été réalisée dans le cadre de leur programme d'évaluation des choix technologiques pour le Conseil de Politique Scientifique et le Conseil Economique et Social de la Région wallonne.L'objectif de la recherche est double. A decade after the war, those called 'French Muslims repatriated ii' questioned the public authorities and public opinion about the difficulties of their social situation. In a founding article, Fung, Gilman and Shkabatur formalise the complex relationship between new information and communication technologies and political systems. By analysing incentives and institutional constraints between citizens, traditional organisations and the state, they identify six models of interaction between ICT and democracy: museum public space, collaborative production, digital direct democracy, whistle-blowers, political mobilisation and social surveillance. After briefly presenting this typology, which helps to shed light on the potential and illusions surrounding digital democracy, we will argue that the authors' descriptive approach minimises the transformative character of the first three models in favour of the last three models, which are more compatible with the limitations of the current political system. Reducing the number of holdings, concentrations and enlargements characterises the development of French agriculture from 1988 to 2000. Successive reforms of agricultural policy have had an impact on the spatial and human organisation of agricultural systems. In this article, we propose to present the main developments in French-Comtoise agriculture, taking account of the new agricultural policy guidelines, based on the data provided by the latest general agricultural census (IGS, 2000). ; Réduction du nombre d'exploitations, concentrations et agrandissements caractérisent l'évolution de l'agriculture française de 1988 à 2000. However, very recently, new initiatives have emerged which point to an act II of evaluation in Parliament. Indian Literatures, from Vedas to Diasporas Anne Castaing, Livres Hebdo, 14/02/2020 Firstly unimpeachable, it is in the plurality of Indian literatures, great sanskrites and heroes' stories of Hindu mythology to Nobel Rabindranath Tagore's poems and the magic realism of the very cosmopolite Salman Rushdie. The Indian subcontinent (which includes India, but also states bordering Pakistan to the west, Bangladesh to the east, Nepal and Bhutan to the north, and Sri Lanka and the Maldives to the south) is an area where literary is cohesive, protracted and even fed into history, politics and society, since its first formulations in the second millennium of JC. Although the French editorial landscape gives great weight to modernity, which is itself a foisonant and, moreover, largely diasporic, it is a reflection, whether voluntary or not, of sometimes millennial traditions, rich as well as iconoclastes. A few clarifications are therefore not unnecessary. Multilingualism European comparison is not inappropriate, although it largely minimises the contemporary Indian linguistic reality: the Indian Constitution recognises 2 national languages, 22 official languages and more than 400 minority languages, some of which (such as bhojpuri or rajasthani) have tens of millions of speakers. The former (English and Hindi) and the latter (bengali, telougou, sindhi, etc.) and the third produced fertile literature, often unfamiliar to the French reader: the English speakers Salman Rushdie, Amitav Ghosh and Arundhati Roy, or their predecessors R.K. Successes and Failures of EU Citizen Consultations (Ashgate, 2013), The New Voices of Europe: Analysis of citizens' consultations analyses various participatory and deliberative mechanisms that have developed in recent years at European level. Led by Raphaël Kies and Patrizia Nanz, this book brings together some 15 specialists among the most renowned experts in the growing field of deliberative democracy. These authors were asked two cross-cutting questions: on the one hand, "is the participatory turning point in European communication purely rhetorical or is there a real political will to institutionalise new ways of involving citizens?" and, on the other hand, "can these participatory procedures be seen as a step towards a more legitimate and democratic Europe?" This document makes recommendations allowing the European Union (EU) to complement the obligation to carry out a data protection impact assessment (DPIA), as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with the aim of achieving a more robust protection of personal data. In April 2016, the EU finalised the essential part of the reform of the legal framework for the protection of personal data. The Union is currently preparing the implementing measures and guidelines giving full effect to the new legal provisions prior to their application as of May 2018. Among other 'novelties', this reform introduces the legal obligation to carry out a DPIA. However, there are some weaknesses in this obligation. This note seeks to address this by providing additional information to the current policy development process, including by proposing "best practices" to arrive at a type of generic impact assessment, which could be recommended for several areas (Section II). Section III presents a first assessment of how these best practices relate to the specific obligation to carry out an impact assessment, i.e. the DPIA, determined by the GDPR. These two sections are preceded by some background information on impact assessments as such. In this sense, Section I presents a definition and historical overview, as well as the pros and cons of impact assessments in general. Finally, Section IV provides recommendations to complement the obligation to carry out a DPIA as required by the GDPR. These recommendations propose in particular: (1) broadening the scope of the obligation to conduct a DPIA under the GDPR; (2) develop methods for carrying out such an analysis; (3) establish 'centres of reference' with data protection authorities (DPAs) which are entirely focused on the performance of DPIA.
