Based on the concept of the cyberpunk librarian, we attempt to offer a cartography of the digital humanities in an attempt to move towards the defense of information as a public good in which access to it is a priority. In this paper, we consider that the Digital Humanities, beyond possible methodological, ontological and epistemological implications; we must identify all possible ethical, aesthetic and political issues that these humanities may contain.
This volume investigates interdisciplinary intersections between law and the humanities from the Renaissance to the present day. It allows for fruitful encounters between different disciplines: from literature to science, from the visual arts to the post-human, from the postmodern novel's experimentation to most recent approaches towards the legal interpretation of literary texts. This productive dialogue fosters original perspectives in the interpretation of and reflection upon identity, justice, power and human rights and values, thus underlining the role of literature in the articulation of relevant cultural issues pertaining to specific periods.

Education is responsible for training and "building" people with a certain ethical model and specific values. Therefore, the idea of seeking only knowledge is outdated and distorted in relation to today's society, because it seeks to act personally, in relation to the citizen and in the workplace. Under this premise, teaching must be learned and taught humanistically, that is, not only the concepts or contents as if they were "dead or off", but everything that they have entailed, their activity and their contribution to the training of people with the aim of solving not only theoretical problems, but practical problems that appear to a greater extent.

The Humanities in the society of communication should cease to be a set of self-referring truths, both destined to nourish signs of endogenous identity from academic elites and to exclusively assure standards of professional promotion. International audience ; In studying 'digital humanities', what might seem to be mainly technical or academic concerns proveto have real political implications. This paper discusses the infrastructure, methodology, andapplications created by a new generation of researchers with the help of digital humanities which canhelp lend academia a new sense of purpose, rather than a purpose per se, by questioning the notionsof literacy, accessibility, autonomy of thinking and learning at the heart of modern universities.Digital humanities may help rekindle academics' embattled feeling that they belong to a community(of learning, of thought). This paper also argues that new forms of research require new evaluationcriteria which value collaboration and open access over competition and market-based point-scoring.Whether this can be achieved in France remains to be seen, but the freedom of expression, opennessand responsiveness afforded by digital humanities might prove truly revolutionary, allowing "thepeople" to educate themselves despite every effort by policymakers to determine who and whatshould be taught.

; This essay provides a link between the current situation in Venezuela and the so-called postmodernism. According to their spokesmen, on the one hand, this later has demolished or destroyed the modern philosophy -namely, philosophy of Kant and Hegel, who developed the Enlightenment's contentand on the other hand, it has made the reason ends its hegemony. Should we understand then the proposal of modern philosophy with no effect? Does have human freedom no value, neither the procedures to safeguard it and develop it socially and politically? Are just the universal rights of man and citizen, the separation of public powers and the property rights the monsters produced by the dream of reason? It proposes to explain the crisis of sovereignty that affects both the nation-states and the tradition of university autonomy that arises with Modernity, through the process of technological globalization. Certain virtualization of the social condition projects it beyond the institutional closure. In this perspective of a «cyberdemocracy» that transcends all sovereign indivisibility, the university tradition provides a significant antecedent of secularization, since from the medieval beginnings itself (like collegium studiorum) it subtracts from a supervisory power, while it is linked to a Community diversity. The process of university democratization finds in the Renaissance Humanities a critical key that the project proposes to take up, in the face of globalization, as «New Humanities».
This book is a bilingual, interdisciplinary volume which proposes alternatives to the myth of human exceptionalism and suggests overcoming the so-called Anthropocene while imagining just futures. This collection of essays offers critical reflections in different areas: philosophy, politics, literary analysis, artistic practice, and pedagogy. It tackles issues such as the cultural consequences of climate change, posthumanism, eco-trauma and eco-speculation, (plastic) pollution, and the relevance of art education and radical hope, among other topics. Applying the prespective of the Biblioteca Benjamin Franklin collection, this volume considers how these issues are addressed on both sides of the Atlantic. [Publisher's text]
