Introduction: The development of adolescents living outside the environment of their families and residing in institutional shelters presents peculiar characteristics in the interactions established in their daily lives and the constitution of their identities. Erikson's psychosocial theory studies identity formation, observing exploration and commitment. Identity status can be classified as identity diffusion, foreclosure, moratorium, and identity achievement. Objective: To evaluate identity status of adolescents living in institutional shelters. Methods: Eighty-seven adolescents living in institutional shelters (age 12–17) individually responded to the Extended Objective Measure of the Ego Identity Status II (EOMEIS II). The data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics which included the following variables: gender, age range, schooling, and time of sheltering. Results: There was a prevalence of the identity diffusion status in both genders, regardless of the length of schooling and despite the time of sheltering. There were differences in the results considering age range (p = 0,033).Conclusion: Older adolescents showed greater losses in identity development, with more negative and immature states of identity, indicative of poor preparation for leaving the institution (at age 18).
This study has a threefold structure. First, some theoretical aspects of Literary History are analyzed. Then, the focus shifts to the Brazilian and foreign historians who pioneered the proposition of a Brazilian literary history. Finally, in the third part, the historiographic question is associated to the political reality of the Second Empire, ia an attempt to discuss the role of historiographic discourse in the construction of the Brazilian national identity.
The paper carries out a comparative analysis of the notions of personal identity and political engagement in the thought of Charles Taylor and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. From a bibliographical study of primary and secondary sources, it is concluded that both philosophers postulate an ontologically dialogical nature of personal identity, thus, essentially dependent on lasting relationship with others. On the other hand, Taylor and Rousseau equate the problem of political alienation in modernity based on distinct principles that serve as the justification for the political engagement of citizens.
The historical development of the northern end of Tocantins is intrinsically linked to a double bond: the place and identity. In this perspective, the text approaches aspects of the settlement process in the Parrot's Beak, considering, among other characteristics, ownership of free land for the constituent work place in order that links the land from production to residence, the coexistence and socio-cultural practices resulting ultimately in the identity construction that feeds on humanitarian values. The methodological procedure adopted included a literature review subsidized especially by authors of different theoretical affiliations, but convergent to the subject. In this study, we seek to establish the relationship between place and identity in designing training subjects as broader social process in which it is effective for the exchange of knowledge, attitudes and ways of life not institutionalized by school standards, which help to understand the basis of uses and customs of nortense population arising from traditional rural life.
This study presents and discusses the actions for the implementation of a project. The project was started in a school unit in the State Education Network in the state of Sao Paulo in the Integral Education [PEI], located in the city of Piracicaba – SP, as a way to guarantee the expansion of democratic management within the school, The objective of this work was to present and discuss the relationship between the constitution of the project in a comprehensive way, with the results of the actions that have already been carried out at the school. The school's documents were analyzed, as well as the legal documents and the relevant bibliography. These all have a purpose to theoretically support the project, giving it a well-founded basis for its implementation. The purpose is to expand the democratic rights within the unit to allow Class Assemblies, corroborating with the democratic management, which will provide the school with a path towards its own identity. Along with the studied literature, the school's internal documents and the results of the actions already carried out at the school, all validate the project's viability. There is legal support for its implementation by meeting these proposals. Positive results corroborated the continuity of the successful practices by the analysis of data and the actions already carried out at the school which gives the full implementation of the project. ; This study presents and discusses the actions for the implementation of a project. The gender identity subject has been the focus of several social and political debates in which: there are individuals who try to eliminate social inequalities regarding gender; and, on the other hand, there are those who seek for visibility, fighting for their rights to be validated. Both of the groups constitute part of the LGBTTQI+ community. Thus, the present study refers to a research carried out at a university in the interior of São Paulo, whose corpus consists of statements made by undergraduate students that discuss the themes of identity, gender, prejudice and discrimination. Once it is a multifaceted theme, in which the phenomena of intolerance, hatred and fear emerge – in addition to discussions and positions that involve political, religious and ideological issues – the present work draws on the French discursive semiotics, by Algirdas Julien Greimas and collaborators. In conclusion, in their discourses, it was observed the identity transformation through the subjective confrontation of some malevolent passions, such as hatred and intolerance.
Starting at the 1940s, Rio de Janeiro, then Brazilian federal capital and power center, begins to produce and project to Brasil an image of the "carioca" that encompasses both the idea of this individual as a member of the civilised nations intended by the elites, and also as someone who has peculiar sway, musicality and humour, brought by popular and African American cultural movements. Under the influence of World War II and the good neighbour policy stronger ties are forged between the Latin American dictatorships and the United States government. In this cultural context, Eros Volúsia emerges in exuberant performance as a dancer, teacher and creator of Brazilian Dance, a multiple and contradictory reality between tradition and popular. More than a poster girl, Eros blasts the scene with creative poetics, being more than and beyond what is expected.
