В современную эпоху информационных войн средства массовой информации (СМИ) ищут эффективные средства манипулирования массовым сознанием реципиентов. Одним из таких средств манипуляции является цифровая статистика. Цель настоящего исследования состоит в определении роли цифровой статистики как средства языкового манипулирования в современных СМИ. Формируемые статистикой информационные данные дают точное описание происходящих событий. Статистические данные обладают такими свойствами, как актуальность, наглядность, конкретность и официозность, что придает им особое значение в системе средств массовой информации. Вероятность принятия за истину сомнительной информации, размещенной в СМИ, возрастает, если закрепить за ней статистические данные. Потому цифровая статистика рассматривается как один из самых мощных инструментов воздействия на человека. В статье анализируется вопрос языкового манипулирования в свете цифровой статистики в русскоязычных и англоязычных СМИ. Обозначены сферы жизнедеятельности людей, в которых более всего используется манипулирование цифровой информацией.
In the era of information wars, modern mass media are looking for effective means of manipulating the mass consciousness of recipients. One of such means of manipulation is digital statistics. The purpose of the study is to determine the role of digital statistics as a means of language manipulation in modern media. The information data generated by statistics gives an accurate description of the events taking place. Statistical data have such properties as relevance, visibility, concreteness and officiousness, which give them special importance in the system of mass media. The probability of accepting dubious information posted in the mass media as the truth increases if statistical data is attached to it. Therefore, digital statistics is regarded as one of the most powerful tools to influence people. The article analyzes the issue of language manipulation in the light of digital statistics in Russian- and English-language media. The spheres of human activity in which the manipulation of digital information is most used are indicated. Digital statistics is understood as one of the means of language manipulation in the media. The role of digital statistics and its impact on the addressee is determined.

So unterschiedlich die betrachteten Texte in ihren Formen und Themen auch sind, sie alle zeigen, dass der überkommenen Sprache ein Normensystem inhärent ist, das überwunden bzw. umgestürzt werden muss, um die politischen Veränderungen und die Anwendung von Gewalt zu legitimieren und zu ermöglichen. Weder Orwell, Klemperer noch Thukydides schlagen Remedia oder Prophylaxen gegen die Manipulation der Sprache vor. Sie finden sich jedoch implizit in den entsprechenden Texten und manifestieren sich explizit durch die Existenz der Werke selbst: Das Bollwerk gegen eine instrumentelle Veränderung der Sprache ist das Gedächtnis, sei es das individuelle, sei es das kollektiv-kulturelle. Wir können zwar sicher sein, dass zumindest Thukydides die Idee eines Gewissens der Wörter äußerst fremd ist. Doch mit einem Konzept, ohne das es das Gewissen nicht geben kann, ist er zweifelsohne vertraut: dem der Erinnerung. Die Erinnerung kann einen davor bewahren, Propheten welcher Art auch immer zu folgen, überlieferte Bedeutungen zu vergessen und dem Denken zu entsagen. Mnemosyne heißt die Erinnerung in der griechischen Mythologie. Sie hat neun Töchter. Eine davon ist Klio, die Muse der Geschichtsschreibung. ; In the so-called "Pathology of War" in the third book of "The Peloponnesian War", Thucydides gives an analysis of the dynamics of a civil war which has lost nothing of its relevance: destruction of the centre, radicalisation of the actors, increased conflict by outside interventions etc. In the civil war, family love and loyalty are disintegrating, the justice system is being destroyed, and devoutness is largely renounced; to enable these social and political ruptures the language is being manipulated. "Words had to change their ordinary meaning and to take that which was now given them" is the key sentence that sums up the method. Instead of inventing new words for old meanings, the traditional connections of signifié and signifiant are disrupted, it is a crisis of signs. A comparative look at two of the most important accounts of totalitarianism, Victor Klemperer's LTI and George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, will reveal the continuities and the differences of politically motivated changes of language. Thus the efficiency of the method described in the "Pathology of War" will become evident.

In article process of speech manipulative influence in policy is analysed, the mechanism of realization and levels of manipulation is found out. The revealed components of the mechanism of language manipulation in policy to which are carried strategy, tactics, technology (receptions) and means of language manipulation.The structure of process of speech manipulative influence (the mechanism of realization of language manipulation) is defined the general: definition is more whole than manipulation (influence intension); preparatory stage (creation of initial advantages, registration of a context of communication), formation of strategy of manipulation (strategic vision of all carrying out operation, definition of the general plan of manipulation, choice of vectors of influence); definition of tactics of manipulation (selection of targets and complex of methods of impact on them); choice of concrete methods of influence; selection of language levers (the embodiment of methods of manipulation in the text); perception of the message by the addressee; influence on targets and start of mechanisms of manipulation perlokutivny effect (consequence of influence of the manipulator and specific addressee).Manipulation types are analysed: referentsialny (it is connected with distortion of an image of the denotat / reviewer in the course of designation of reality) and argumentativny (it is connected with violation of postulates of communication). The receptions characteristic of these types of manipulation are defined. Three levels of manipulation are investigated: macro-, meso- and macrolevel. It is established the receptions used on each of them. It is found out that at the mesolevel two groups of methods are used: logical (by means of which impact on mind of the reader in the direction necessary for the author of the text is carried out) and emotional (are intended for impact on channels of perception of information). ; В статті проаналізовано процес мовно-маніпулятивного впливу в політиці, з'ясовано механізм реалізації та рівні маніпуляції. Виявлені складові механізму мовної маніпуляції в політиці, до яких віднесені стратегія, тактика, техніки (прийоми) та засоби мовного маніпулювання.Визначено загальну структуру процесу мовного маніпулятивного впливу (механізму реалізації мовної маніпуляції): визначення цілей маніпуляції (інтенція впливу); підготовчий етап (створення вихідних переваг, оформлення контексту комунікації); формування стратегії маніпуляції (стратегічне бачення всього проведення операції, визначення загального плану маніпуляції, вибір векторів впливу); визначення тактик маніпуляції (підбір мішеней і комплексу прийомів впливу на них, виходячи з підзадач стратегіі); вибір конкретних прийомів впливу; підбір мовних засобів впливу прийомів (втілення прийомів маніпуляції в тексті); сприйняття повідомлення адресатом; вплив на мішені; запуск механізмів маніпуляції; перлокутивний ефект (наслідки впливу маніпулятора та конкретного адресата).Проаналізовано типи маніпулювання: референціальне (пов'язане зі спотворенням образу денотата/референта в процесі позначення дійсності) та аргументативне (пов'язано з порушенням постулатів спілкування). I propose to explore the rhetoric and language surrounding poor people of color both through common culture in literature and political speeches and documents of contemporary politicians between the years 1965 and 1992. I am particularly interested in the evolution of the Johnson administration's War on Poverty between the 1970s and 1990s. Additionally, the Reagan administration's tear down of the welfare system in the 1980s is another area of interest. I will specifically be examining how images of the poor have been manipulated in order to preserve the power of the elite and how portrayals of poverty shift in the given timeframe. I will be focusing on the portrayals of poor women of color. Then, through analysis of political speeches and media articles surrounding the Moynihan Report of 1965, and the elections of 1980 and 1992, I will evaluate the methods used by those in power to condemn the poor. Finally, I will discuss how literature both furthers and pushes against the changing perceptions and policies regarding poor people of color. This research will add to the knowledge of the ways governments utilize the power of language to maintain power and achieve social control and help locate the role of popular literary fiction in broader cultural debates.

Manipulacijom jezikom i diskursom moguće je manipulirati političkim stavovima građana i tako ostvariti političke ciljeve. Nacionalsocijalisti su to proveli u djelo u Njemačkoj prije i tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata. Na osnovu analize nacionalsocijalističke propagande u Njemačkoj prije i za vrijeme Drugog svjetskog rata u ovom se članku izvode zaključci u pogledu manipulacije jezikom u političke svrhe.

This book presents a wide array of methods applicable for reading data into R, and efficiently manipulating that data. In addition to the built-in functions, a number of readily available packages from CRAN (the Comprehensive R Archive Network) are also covered. All of the methods presented take advantage of the core features of R: vectorization, efficient use of subscripting, and the proper use of the varied functions in R that are provided for common data management tasks. Most experienced R users discover that, especially when working with large data sets, it may be helpful to use other programs, notably databases, in conjunction with R. Accordingly, the use of databases in R is covered in detail, along with methods for extracting data from spreadsheets and datasets created by other programs. Character manipulation, while sometimes overlooked within R, is also covered in detail, allowing problems that are traditionally solved by scripting languages to be carried out entirely within R. For users with experience in other languages, guidelines for the effective use of programming constructs like loops are provided. Since many statistical modeling and graphics functions need their data presented in a data frame, techniques for converting the output of commonly used functions to data frames are provided throughout the book.
