A history of Maltese culture may be said to reflect in various ways the history of the whole community. Since, much more than in the case of larger countries, Malta could never do without foreign contacts, necessarily causative of a complex process of influences, adaptations and reactions (and consequently only through a study of a set of assimilations can the scholar arrive at a true definition of a Maltese identity), such a history, be it political, social or cultural, is bound to assume a comparative character. This may be all the more so owing to the fact that what one may euphemistically call foreign contacts were nothing less than foreign occupations. The conditions which characterize and modify the process of, say, a political history of subordination may boil down to be the inalienable causes of analogous conditions in the cultural field. ; peer-reviewed

This development includes courses organised by period (from centuries to specific decades, from 'the Colonial Era' to 'Romanticism', 'Modernism' and 'Postmodernism'), by race and ethnicity (Native American and African-American, Latino and Chicano, Jewish and Irish), by gender and sexuality (women's writing, gay and lesbian literature), by geography ('the South' and 'the West', 'the City' and 'the Frontier'), by theme ('the American Dream' and 'Exceptionalism'), by form and genre ('the Novel', 'Poetry' and 'Drama', 'the Gothic' and 'Prison Writing'), by school ('The Transcendentalists' and 'the Wooster Group'), by specific writer and by interdisciplinary combination ('Noir Film and Fiction', or 'the Literature, Music and Movies of Vietnam'). This bibliographical essay could not hope to prepare you for every type of course, but it will aim to provide important leads for the most popular writers and subjects in this increasingly vast and variegated field.

The European Union (EU) promotes European innovation. Diverse stakeholders have opportunities to create knowledge by engaging in innovation projects. So-ciety expects that projects review how they impact on the community and how they share knowledge and deliver outcomes. This systematic literature review is based on a key word search and analysis of a final sample of 31 academic papers by extracting relevant data from the articles into a Data Extraction Table (DET). Results indicate that four main themes discussed emerge from the sam-ple literature: ICT alignment, Organisational Culture, Innovation Culture, and ICT-readiness. This new collection of J. Hillis Miller's essays centres on the question "why and to what end should we read, teach, and spend our time with literary and/or cultural studies?" At a time when electronic media seem to dominate the market completely, and jobs follow the money flows into electronic and technical fields, literary and cultural studies might appear as a decorative addenda but not really necessary for the process of growth and development, neither in business nor in the area of personal development. This question is not really new, it has many facets, requires differentiated answers which depend and mirror the political and cultural climate of a society.
