For at least a century academics and governmental researchers have been developing measures that would aid them in understanding income distributions, their differences with respect to geographic regions, and changes over time periods. It is a fascinating area due to a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that different measures, or indices, are needed to reveal different features of income distributions. The existing indices, the Gini index, the Bonferroni index and the Zenga index are intrinsically linked each other, whereas their emphasis are laid differently. One of the limitations of the existing indices is that they provide an overall measurement for the whole society and cannot distinguish the distributions with the same index value. This thesis works on the extension of the three indices and proposes a new index which can make comparison between any groups with different income level, for example, the richest group and the poorest group. The new index satisfies the axioms of inequality measures. The statistical inferential results of the new index are derived and their performance are tested by a simulation study and the results are used to analyze the income data of Hong Kong from Census and Statistics Department, HKSAR. ; 近一個世紀學術界和政府間的研究人員一直致力於創造和發展可以幫助理解不同國家地區收入分布和差異的測度。很多原因使之成為令人感興趣的研究領域,需要不同測度或指數用以理解收入分布的不同特征便是原因之一。Gini指數,Bonferroni 指數和Zenga指數等現有指數在本質上相互聯系,但側重點各有不同。可以對整個社會有一個整體測度而不能對具有相同指數的收入分布進行區分是現有指數的共同缺陷。本論文基於以上三種指數提出一種新的指數可以在不同收入水平間進行比較,例如,最富有階層和最貧困階層。新指數滿足收入不均測度的相關性質。本論文推導出新指數的相關統計推理結果並用數值模擬實驗進行了測試,最終用其結果對香港政府統計處的人口普查數據進行了分析。 ; Chen, Teng. ; Thesis M.Phil. 目前中國大陸針對青少年福祉的系統化研究還比較少,對貧困青少年主觀福祉的研究則到現在也未有正式的研究。2009年,中國民政部提出社會福利將向適度普惠型社會福利轉變,政府和社會也開始關注和服務院舍照顧之外的貧困青少年群體。在此背景下,本研究的主要目的是:通過設計、整合及使用青少年主觀福祉測量工具,運用量化研究方法瞭解中國貧困青少年群體主觀福祉的基本情況,分析貧困青少年主觀福祉的相關影響因素及各個因素的影響力大小,探討自尊與環境因素在影響貧困青少年主觀福祉方面的作用機制,並根據研究結果提出改善和提升中國貧困青少年主觀福祉的政策及介入措施。 ; 本研究採用截面研究方式,運用定量研究方法中的問卷調查法,檢驗所提出的自尊與環境交互作用理論模型,以1262名中國山東省青島市義務教育階段12-16歲的青少年為研究對象,收集在主觀福祉、自尊、生活事件、教養方式、親子溝通、同伴關係、師生關係等方面的數據,運用結構方程模型等方法進行統計分析。 ; 研究結果表明中國內地貧困家庭中的青少年主觀福祉水準與自尊、教養方式、親子溝通、同伴關係、師生關係等因素直接相關,研究也發現自尊與環境因素的交互作用,共同影響貧困青少年主觀福祉的機制。自尊在同伴關係影響貧困青少年主觀福祉中起到完全中介作用,自尊在親子溝通、教養方式、師生關係影響貧困青少年主觀福祉中起到部分中介作用。教養方式、師生關係、同伴關係則在自尊影響貧困青少年主觀福祉中起到部分中介作用。群組分析與回歸分析發現貧困青少年在不同的性別、居住地、年級等方面其主觀福祉水準存在差異,而且親子溝通、教養方式、師生關係和同伴關係各因數變數對貧困青少年主觀福祉的影響存在差異。 ; 基於上述研究結論,本研究認為在微觀的社會工作實務服務層面,可通過策劃綜合性的貧困青少年介入服務,從貧困青少年與父母、老師、同伴等關係改善方面入手,以提高貧困青少年的自尊為服務的核心,逐漸提升這一群體的主觀福祉水準;在宏觀的國家政策設計層面,在對貧困青少年進行物質援助之外,還需要從改善青少年與環境關係方面綜合考慮,設計推出提升貧困青少年主觀福祉水準的相關社會政策。 ; 關鍵字:貧困青少年;主觀福祉;影響因素;交互作用;中介效應 ; There are few systematic researches on the well-being of adolescent in Mainland China, and even no formal research on the well-being of the poor adolescent. In 2009, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China proposed that the social welfare system in China should transform to a "moderate universal model", which marked the increasing concern of government and society on poor adolescent who are not receiving institutional care. ; The major objectives of this research is to design, integrate and implement measurement indexes of subjective well-being of youth, using quantitative method to examine the basic situation of poor adolescent in China. The second objective of this research is to analyze factors influencing their subjective well-being and the intensity of those factors. The third is to look into how the dynamics between self-esteem and environmental factors affect the subjective well-being of adolescent. 這項研究的目的旨在探討香港15歲學生在科學素養上的性別差異及這些差異如何影響男女生在選擇以科學作為升學及職業的動機。 ; 本研究的數據取自2006年在本港舉行的香港學生能力國際評估計劃(Programme for International Student Assessment)。該計劃的4645學生樣本取自146所學校,包括:官立、資助及私立學校,以兩階段分層隨機抽樣的方法選取。 ; 學生能力國際評估計劃如其他大型國際評估一樣,其評估框架採用多維試題架構。本研究採用配合該試題架構及樣本結構的多維試題功能(MDIF)及多層中介變項(MLM)兩個研究方法,去了解15歲男女學生在科學素養(認知和情感)上的性別差異及這些差異如何影響男女生在選擇以科學作為升學及職業的動機。比較常用的均差t-檢定,MDIF具備提高各次級量尺的精確度特質,因而可以更有效和準確地計算出男女學生在科學素養上的性別差異。MLM則以Eccles (1983) 的成功期望價值理論為學理基礎去分析和了解這些性別差異如何影響男女生在選取與科學相關的升學途徑和擇業的動機。 ; 要完成MLM的研究,我們必須先使用單組驗證性因子分析(Single-Group CFA)驗證經濟合作與發展組織(OECD)所建構的六項情意因素,包括:「科學上的自我概念」、「科學的個人價值」、「科學的興趣」、「對科學的喜好」、「學習科學的工具性動機」和「將來工作而學習科學的動機」,以便了解使用這些源自西方社會的情意因素在本土研究的可行性及效度。接着使用本土數據去調整這六項情意因素結構。最後利用多組驗證性因子分析(Multiple-Group CFA)去確定這些因素結構對男女生是否都適用(即測量等同檢驗Measurement Invariance Test)。 ; 由單組驗證性因子分析結果得知,六項情意因素,除了要對「科學的興趣」因素作較大幅度的修改外,其他五項因素都具有良好的心理測量特性。而多組驗證性因子分析的結果亦顯示,六項情意因素都能通過測量等同檢驗,亦即這六項因素結構對男女生都適用。 ; 研究結果顯示除了「鑑定形成科學議題」能力外,本港15歲的男生在「解釋科學現象」及「科學證」等科學認知層面上優於女生。在科學情意發展上,男生比女生亦有更好的發展,其效應值(effect size)更高於認知層面。 ; MLM的研究結果與Eccles的成功期望價值理論預測結果吻合,也就是說,男女生在面向未來升學選科和擇業動機上呈現明顯的性別差異,而這些差異主要是透過情意因素(中介變項)間接影響男女生的選擇意向。就這些因素而言,女生在選取科學作為未來升學途徑和職業動機明顯地較男生為弱。 ; 整體而言,驗證性因子分析結果和MLM的研究結果支持源自西方社會的Eccles成功期望價值理論具備跨文化效度,在香港華人社會的研究結果與西方結果基本吻合。 ; 最後,本文作者將根據本研究的結果,向科學教育的工作者、教師、父母、課程發展人員、政策的制定者和考核機構提供一些可行的建議,希望藉此改善香港男女生在科學生涯規劃上的性別差異。 ; The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of gender differences of 15-year-old students on scientific literacy and their impacts on students' motivation to pursue science education and careers (Future-oriented Science Motivation) in Hong Kong. ; The data for this study was collected from the Program for International Student Assessment in Hong Kong (HKPISA).
