; What is memory? Can it be influenced, and how? After reminding us of the complexity of the notion of memory, Marie-Clair Lavabre points out the interest of the distinction between collective memory, as initially conceptualized by the sociologist Maurice Halbwachs, and memory, as defined by the uses given to it by historians. It is possible to act upon memory—and this will is expressed with a particular force in the situations in which past hasn't past--, within certain limits and conditions.
The films about the recent past of Chile and Argentina bring questions that lead to the work hypothesis from inside the film and its relationship with the outside. Content that is explained from the context of the film: Is there agreement between the historic and sociologic theme that explained the fall of the military dictatorships and their transition to democracy, with the content of the audio visually told stories? Is the proposed construction of collective memory inclusive? Up to what point is the cinematographic cultural production a reflection of the dominant political processes? It is implicit within these questions a hypothesis: the films could be related to the dominant discourses that turn invisible and/or condemn the various forms of resistance.

; [EN] History and memory are not equivalent terms, still less when they point a past marked by exclusion and injustice. Holocaust literature is an artistic expression, which in many ways sits outside the established understandings of literature and its purpose. The Holocaust itself was an event so unique in its complexities that it separated from other historic atrocities. The Holocaust is not just a historical event. It affected psychology, sociology, politics, innovation, medicine, engineering, ethics, morality, and artistic expressions. Throughout this essay, I will argue the case for Holocaust literature: what exactly is it, what unique challenges does it face as a genre, how it is evolving, and how best to read it. Authors in this genre have a great responsibility to present factual information through the use of prose. This is particularly of concern as survivors die and new voices emerge, whether they are the children of survivors or not. The telling of the many stories of the Holocaust can help us all become witnesses of a human tragedy that, although highly secretive and manipulative of language, emotions, and events, affected the entire world.

; «Memory and university» is one of the chapters of the doctoral thesis of Carlos Vallina. As an academic memory addresses political and cultural contexts of the sixties and the seventies, and the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, as a fundamental part of this historical process of debates and political struggles, but with a look and perspectives of the present. Aesthetic forms of communication performance, in particular in the audiovisual field, are a way of knowing reality. The purpose of this test is a cross of days, structural coincidence of communicating a variety of forms and timelines fractured by the action of history, memory, emotions and the need to process a field of knowledge that gives meaning to everything. ; Facultad de Periodismo y Comunicación Social
In May 2003 the twelfth edition of the «Aranguren Conferences» was held. Jorge Semprún gave three keynote speeches titled «Kant and the Maquis' rucksack», «The radical evil and the Buchenwald latrines» and «Literature and memory of the evil: from Sartre to Paul Ricoeur», all of them grouped under the generic denomination Memory of Evil. The thread running through the three speeches was Semprún's experience as a political deportee at Buchenwald concentration camp, so close to the Weimar camp of Schiller and Goethe. There, he could experience the radical evil, but also the brotherhood through the antifascist resistance groups who coordinated the various clandestine political groups at the camp. This experience helped him review some of the philosophical readings he had done as a philosphy student at the Sorbonne, as well as those readings he took an interest in following the end of the war. In this way, Semprún went over various authors (Immanuel Kant, André Malraux, Edmund Husserl, Jacques Maritain, Martin Heidegger, Karl Marx, Hannah Arendt, Jean Paul Sartre, Paul Ricoeur or Primo Levi) arguing their relationship with the issue of Evil.

; This article aims to make evident three sites of memory that have been built in Colombia. In them, tensions and struggles between official and local memories are emphasized; the latter are those built in territories where atrocious acts against humanity have occurred, and which allow the uncovering of voices and stories about the events experienced in the context of the armed conflict. The research was of qualitative in nature, in its hermeneutic dimension, through Quintero's proposal for hermeneutic narrative research (PINH, in Spanish), which considers narrative to be the main nucleus of the work. It concludes with the challenges of exemplary memory as an ethical and political commitment that contributes to the construction of peace in Colombia, through the treatment of the past that demands truth, justice, reparation, and the never again of atrocious events. This allows for a different present and future.

This article aims to show how a political anthropology of historicity is configured in the relationship between memory and history. Paul Ricoeur's work allows us to explore, in a hermeneutic way, the consequences of the relationship between time as historicity and action as politics in order to, draw all the derivations of the past opening, the affirmation of the initiative in the present and the open hopes in the future full of possibilities that the imagination opens as a rupture of fatality.
The book "State and Memory" is discussed regarding the contributions that an analysis of different managements of experiences of the past in post-dictatorship democracies enables. The problematizations presented by the authors in this collection of articles, favors the deepening of theory and practice in relation to how memory is done in each country. Likewise, the authors advise the importance of a careful approach of memory, because this determines the development of ongoing democratic processes and can therefore open or close possibilities for all political and social processes.
