The purpose of the article is to present the method of constructing the GTI index used for a multidimensional assessment of a terrorist threat. Next, using Ward's method, groups of EU countries similar in terms of the terrorism threat level will be identified. Particular attention was paid to the position of Poland, which due to its active participation in military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, may be the target of a terrorist attack. The analyses show that Poland is in the group of countries with the lowest terrorism threat level. However, this threat cannot be underestimated. ; Celem artykułu była prezentacja sposobu konstruowania miernika GTI wykorzystywanego do wielowymiarowej oceny zagrożenia terroryzmem. Następnie przy użyciu metody Warda zidentyfikowano grupę krajów UE podobnych pod względem zagrożenia terroryzmem. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na pozycję Polski, która z powodu aktywnego udziału w działaniach militarnych w Afganistanie i Iraku czy rozmieszczenia wojsk amerykańskich może być celem ataku terrorystycznego. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika, że Polska znajduje się w grupie krajów o najmniejszym zagrożeniu terroryzmem, jednak zagrożenia tego nie można lekceważyć.

W warunkach wzrostu konkurencji, rozwoju biotechnologii i coraz większych wymagań konsumentów innowacje stają się ważnym czynnikiem konkurencyjności w przemyśle spożywczym. Celem przeprowadzonych badań była ocena barier innowacyjności przemysłu spożywczego na przykładzie wybranych krajów Unii Europejskiej w latach 2014-2016. Na podstawie badań CIS-2016 opartych na metodologii Oslo opracowanej przez OECD przeanalizowano postrzeganie barier innowacyjności w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu spożywczego aktywnych i nieaktywnych innowacyjnie. Do oceny znaczenia analizowanych czynników w poszczególnych krajach członkowskich UE wykorzystano statystyki opisowe oraz metodę Warda należącą do aglomeracyjnych metod grupowania. Z badań wynika, że reprezentanci przedsiębiorstw aktywnych innowacyjnie częściej zgłaszali występowanie czynników utrudniających wdrażanie nowości. Do najczęściej wskazywanych przez nich wysoce istotnych barier innowacji należały: wysoka konkurencja, brak wewnętrznego finansowania i wysokie koszty. Reprezentanci przedsiębiorstw nieaktywnych innowacyjnie powszechnie wskazywali natomiast: niski popyt na rynku, brak wewnętrznego finansowania i wysokie koszty. ; In conditions of increased competition, development of biotechnology and the ever growing demands of the consumers, innovations are becoming an important factor of competitiveness in the food industry. The aim of the conducted research was to evaluate the barriers of innovativeness in the food industry based on chosen European Union countries during 2014-2016. Based on research of CIS-2016 carried out in accordance with the Oslo methodology developed by OECD, the barriers of innovativeness within the food industry enterprises which were active and non-active were analyzed. As for the evaluation of the analyzed factors within the countries of the EU, descriptive statistics and Ward's method, which is an agglomeration form of grouping method, were used. From the conducted research, it followed, that the representations of innovative active enterprises more often reported on the barriers which were impeding the introduction of innovations. The most common which were reported included big competition, lack of internal funding and high costs. Representatives of inactive innovative enterprises were reporting low demand on the market, lack of internal funding and high costs.

The aim of the research is to classify the European Union (EU) countries based on the progress in the economic performance of agriculture. The originality of the paper stems from the fact that a new set of indicators (in relative form) was used to identify the clusters. The following indicators are used to assess the economic performance of the EU agricultural sector (by cluster analysis) for two periods (2015–2017 and 2018–2020): total labor force input, real income of factors in agriculture per annual work unit, total agricultural output, gross value added of the agricultural industry, and animal output. The study confirmed that EU countries, according to changes in agricultural performance, differ significantly. They were grouped into four relatively homogeneous clusters according to their similarity, with a clear geographical dispersion for both analyzed periods. Identifying development disparities between EU countries can be useful in future redesigns of the Common Agricultural Policy measures in terms of increased support to certain members. ; Celem badań jest klasyfikacja krajów Unii Europejskiej (UE) na podstawie postępu w wynikach ekonomicznych w rolnictwie. Oryginalność artykułu wynika z faktu, że do identyfikacji klastrów zastosowano nowy zestaw wskaźników (w postaci względnej). Do oceny wyników ekonomicznych sektora rolnego UE (poprzez analizę klastrów) dla dwóch okresów (2015–2017 i 2018–2020) stosuje się następujące wskaźniki: całkowity nakład siły roboczej, rzeczywisty dochód czynników w rolnictwie na roczną jednostkę pracy, produkcja rolna ogółem, wartość dodana brutto przemysłu rolnego oraz produkcja zwierzęca. Badanie potwierdziło, że kraje UE znacznie się różnią pod względem zmian wyników rolniczych. Zostały one pogrupowane w cztery stosunkowo jednorodne klastry według podobieństwa, z wyraźnym rozproszeniem geograficznym dla obu analizowanych okresów. Identyfikacja dysproporcji rozwojowych pomiędzy krajami UE może być przydatna w przyszłych przekształceniach środków wspólnej polityki rolnej pod kątem zwiększonego wsparcia dla niektórych członków.
