In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of organizational democracy perceived by the academic staff in their institutions and the frequency of encounter with political behaviors of academic staff in their institutions and to examine the relationship between these two variables. For this purpose, data were collected from 283 academic staff, working at three state and three foundation universities locate in Ankara, in 2016-2017 academic year. The data were analyzed by quantitative techniques and the findings showed that the level of organizational democracy perceived by the academic staff and the frequency of encounter with political behaviors were moderate. It was found that, the perception of organizational democracy of the academic staff working at foundation universities is higher, and the frequency of encounter with political behaviors is lower than the academic staff working at the state universities. In addition, it was determined that the level of orgaizational democracy perceived by academic staff and the frequency of encounter with political behaviors differed in terms of the duration of service in the institution. Finally, it was found that there is a moderate and negative relationship between organizational democracy and frequency of encounter with political behaviors, and that organizational democracy predicts the frequency of encounter with political behaviors. ; Bu çalışmada, öğretim elemanlarının kurumlarında algıladıkları örgütsel demokrasi düzeyi ile politik davranışlarla karşılaşma sıklıklarının belirlenmesi ve bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, Ankara'da bulunan üç devlet ve üç vakıf üniversitesinde, 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında görev yapmakta olan 283 öğretim elemanından veri toplanmıştır. Ayrıca öğretim elemanlarının kurumlarında algıladıkları örgütsel demokrasi düzeyinin ve politik davranışlarla karşılaşma sıklığının kurumdaki hizmet süresi açısından farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Son olarak, örgütsel demokrasi ile politik davranışlar arasında orta düzeyde negatif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu ve örgütsel demokrasinin, politik davranışlarla karşılaşma sıklığını yordadığı tespit edilmiştir.
This handbook suggests a global, transnational perspective on the history of education as a field. Apart from an introductory chapter written by the editors, the text includes 36 articles divided into six parts. Each article describes a subject in the field and ends with a bibliography for further reading. As repeatedly stressed in the book, this field has developed since the early nineteenth century with the emergence of the modern nation-state. Its scope and content expanded and underwent some transformations since the 1960s with the introduction of new perspectives, issues, and methods through interaction with the discipline of history and the broader social sciences.

Bu kavramın hayatımıza etkisini göz ardı etmek mümkün değil. Söz konusu kavramının ilk çıkış noktası fast-food sektörüydü ve fakat belli bir süreden sonra onu aşarak insanlığın her alanını işgal etti. Başta okul ve üniversiteler olmak üzere hizmet alanlarının hegemonik gücü haline geldi. Oluşan hegemonik gücün içerisinde hayatımızdaki bazı geleneksel kavramlar içleri tamamen boşalarak yeni kavramlara dönüştü. Aynılaşma ilkesine maruz kalan "Öğretmenler" "McÖğretmenlere", "Üniveristeler" "McÜniversitelere", "Akademi" "McAkademiye", "Profesörlerler" McProfesörlere ve "Meslekler" de "McMesleklere" dönüştü. Oluşma safhasında olan bu durumun tehlikesi insanlık için vahim bir durum teşkil etmektedir. Çünkü insanlığın tarih boyunca gelişmesini sağladığı kurum ve alanların tamamen öznel paradigmalarını kaybedip hepsinin aynı oluşum içerisine girdiğini düşünsenize? Bu soruya yanıt vermek için yola çıkan bu çalışmanın amacı, dünyada "Yükseköğretimin McDonaldlaştırılması" kavramını yerli alanyazına kazandırarak bu konuyla ilgili sonraki çalışmalara yol göstermektir.
WOS: 000461078400001 ; Citizenship education was influenced by fundamental changes that happened following the end of the Cold War in 1989. Traditional citizenship education aiming to build a monolithic national identity, disseminate an image of homogeneous society and transmit the knowledge of political system has evolved towards modern citizenship education characterised by an emphasis on human rights, democracy, the rule of law, respect for diversity and a concern to develop students' political participation skills. The transition to modern citizenship education in Turkey started with the pushing of international educational projects and is still underway. Drawing on critical discourse analysis, this study explores what kind of citizenship education the 2018 Social Studies Courses Programme of Study envisages. The study found that the new programme intensely reflects the characteristics of traditional citizenship education. Taking into account this study's findings might lead to more effective implementation of the programme and increase the success of future curriculum reforms.
Araştırmanın Amacı: İlgili yazında güven kavramı ağırlıklı olarak tek yönlü olarak ele alınıp; örgütsel süreçlerdeki rolü incelenmiştir. İkili güven kavramını araştıran çalışmamızda, işgörenlerin hem örgüte hem de sendikaya bağlı olmaları nedeniyle, güvenin iki yönlü (sendika/örgüt) olarak incelenmesi ve bir tarafa duyulan güven ya da güvensizliğin diğer tarafı nasıl etkileyeceği, konusu önem taşımakta olup; ilgili yazında bu yetersizliğin belli ölçüde giderilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Examining the issue of trust from this new perspective will allow to better establish, how exactly, the measure of confidence or distrust, existing in relation with any one side of such environment, can simultaneously be found affecting the relation of the employee with the other side of the organizational system. Thus existing theoretical deficiency is intended to be resolved upon the results of this study, to fill the gap in literature with concept of organizational trust, which comprises of extended model of analysis of these dual, simultaneous relations. Methods: The theoretical part of the study has been developed based on reviews of literature and in conjunction with conducted researches. Field research has been completed by using a questionnaire method, applied to 553 employees from three different public sectors: Energy, Health, and Education. Data obtained has been subjected to basic and advanced tests (Structural Equation Modeling) in SPSS and LISREL statistical software suites and results achieved were evaluated. Results: According to the results of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis, it is concluded that all the sub-dimensions of organizational trust level affect all the sub-dimensions of trust toward the trade union, the level of trust towards the union leaders, positively affects the trust towards the union itself and, that the highest levels of the trust in general, are seen in energy sector, while the lowest levels, within the scope of this research, respectively, are seen in the sector of educationroblem of the Research: If employees work in a situation of direct and simultaneous relations with two organizations (workplace and a trade union) which are both, competing with each other in conflict of interest. This situation, can be found in literature, described as a 'dual link' (Stagner, 1954). The necessity of maximizing organizational aims through relations with employees on both sides will be seen directly affecting the perceptions and behaviors of employees towards both of the organizations. Within such a context, the concept of 'organizational trust' will also have to be seen as linked to, and in either positive or negative manner affected by these dual links relations. However, when the relevant literature is examined, it is seen that this concept is discussed and approached, either as a trust to the union, or only to the workplace. The concept of trust of the employees, built upon the two conflicting influences and affected by rival organizations, not being previously examined as a concept of 'dual trust', can thus be highlighted, as the problem of this study. With reference to this result, it is seen that trust to the manager is the key role in achieving trust to the organization. In the research, it is found that the average level of trust of the employees to the union is , the average level of trust to the work place is . On the other hand, according to the 2000 World Values Survey results (www.bahcesehir.edu.tr) it is indicated that trust towards union is ; trust towards organization . The research has been conducted in three different institutions. Among these institutions, energy sector has the highest level of trust, the second one is health sector and the third one is education sector. The reason of having the lowest level of trust in education sector can be having a higher level of education in comparison with other sectors. Because most of the teachers have bachelor's degree and the lowest level of trust belongs to the bachelor's in our study. Through this study, which is considered the Pioneer study in this area of work, dealing with concept of Dual Trust within three different concepts and improving models with reference to the issue have reached important conclusions. On the other side, by virtue of lack of study on 'dual trust' has not permitted to do a literal comparison. This case can be shown one of the restrictions of this study of research.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the international activities of local governments in Turkey. Local governments conduct international activities by establishing sister city relations, becoming members of international organizations, and signing cooperation protocols, and memoranda of understanding/goodwill letters. The present study aimed to investigate the activities regarding the international activities of local governments in Turkey. In the study, lectures on international activities, following the description of theoretical, historical and legal backgrounds of international relations, the statistical data on the activities of local governments in Turkey are presented, and some observations and assessments were made through the information obtained from the relevant unit managers of six metropolitan municipalities in Turkey which have the strongest memberships in international organizations. As a result, it was determined that there has been an increase in the number of international activities of local governments in Turkey, memberships to these organizations have been effectively carried out, the municipalities have become a member of international organizations which are expected to benefit from, a purpose was determined by these municipalities before becoming a member, and these municipalities have become stakeholders of international organizations and have gained significant benefits through these joint projects.
The aim of the research is to bibliometrically analyze 1419 publications published in the field of information literacy in the field of education between 1989 and 2022 and indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The data of the research was reached on 01.02.2022 and 7,210 scientific publications were found as a result of the search. According to the scope of the research, a limitation was made in the category of "educational / educational research". As a result of these processes, bibliometric data of 1419 studies were accessed and the data were recorded. Percentage and frequency values of the obtained data were calculated and presented in tables and graphics. At the same time, the data of the studies were visualized by making bibliometric network maps using the VOSviewer package program. According to the results of the research, the highest number of publications in the education category related to information literacy in WoS were made in the articles, papers and book chapters, respectively, in 2018, the most common publication language was English, then Spanish, and the most academic publications were USA. It was later found that it was made in China. Purdue University and the Purdue University System are top-publishing authors affiliated. In Turkey, Hacettepe University is the institution where the authors who publish the most on information literacy work. After 2007, the citations increased every year compared to the previous year, and the most citations were made in 2021. In the educational research category, "information literacy, media literacy, teaching strategies, digital" are the most frequently used keywords in studies on information literacy. The study was conducted in the WoS database, and it can be recommended to compare the bibliometric analyzes in the Scopus, EBSCO and PROQUEST databases to researchers who can work on information literacy. stract:
Forestry higher education has been offered since 1857. This study investigates the alterations made in the tertiary forestry institution names in Turkey under three periods: (1) between the years 1857 and 1934, (2) between the years 1945 and 1948, and (3) between the years 2006 and 2018. The Faculty of Forestry was under the Ministry of Mining during the first period, which later became a unit under the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1934, during the Republican period, it became a subdivision of Ankara Yuksek Ziraat Enstitusu (Ankara Institute of Advanced Agriculture, YZE). All those changes in this period improved the reputation of the institution and the occupation. In the second period, tertiary-level forestry education was separated from YZE and incorporated into Istanbul University. The faculty members and the councils of the Faculty of Forestry were directly involved in the decision-making processes required by this change. However, the third period is marked by regulations that were made without involving any forestry education institutions and professionals. Due to the lack of a clear higher education policy, the names of institutions have not been preserved and the formation of an academic tradition in the forestry institutions has been delayed.

Çalışmada Commonwealth'in ortaya çıkışı, "imaj" ve "gerçek" çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Britanyalı siyasilerce izlenen temkinli ve öngörülü politikalarının başarısı, Commonwealth'in ortaya çıkışında önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir. Ancak Commonwealth içerisinde "ortak" kelimesine vurgu yapılmasına rağmen bütçenin azlığı, lider ülkenin eksikliği ve kurumsal yapının yetersizliğinden ileri gelen sorunlar, üyelerinin gelişmesi ve sorun çözme noktasında Commonwealth'i etkisizleştirmektedir. Commonwealth'in mevcut etkisizliği artan bir varlık sorununu ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu noktada çalışmada Commonwealth'in geleceğine ilişkin görüşler "imaj" ve "gerçek" çerçevesinde analiz edilerek, çözüm önerileri sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Özellikle Soğuk Savaş sonrası dönemde demokrasi, hukukun üstünlüğü ve insan hakları gibi değerlerin Commonwealth içerisinde ön plana çıkması, önemli bir gelişme olarak kabul edilebilir. Fakat zengin ve fakir ülkeler arasında değer paylaşımının yapılamaması, Commonwealth'in "imajı" "gerçeğe" dönüştüremediğini göstermektedir. Bu yönüyle çalışma, yalnızca Commonwealth'in ortaya çıkışını ve kurumsal yapısındaki değişimi açıklamayı amaç edinmemektedir. Buna ek olarak, Commonwealth'in yaşamakta olduğu sorunlar dikkate alınarak, Örgüt'ün dünya politikasında nasıl etkin hale getirilebileceği de incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın bütünlüğünün sağlanması ve Britanyalı siyasilerin Commonwealth üzerindeki politika tercihlerinin anlaşılması için İngiltere tarihi, Britanya İmparatorluğu'nun doğuşu, gelişimi ve dekolonizasyon süreci de çalışmanın konuları arasında yer almaktadır. ; This study discussed concepts of "image" and "reality" in the framework of emergence of Commonwealth. The success of the British politicians who pursued cautious and foresighted policy has played an important role in the emergence of the Commonwealth. But in the Commonwealth despite the emphasis on the word of "common" the Organization is ineffective for problem solving and development of its members due to problems as lack of budget, absence of leading country and insufficiency of institutional structures. The current ineffectiveness of Commonwealth creates a growing problem of existence. At this point this study tried to provide solutions on the future of the Commonwealth based on concepts of "image" and "reality". Values such as democracy, rule of law and human rights come into prominence especially after the Cold War in the Commonwealth can be considered as an important development. But failure of allocation of values between rich and poor countries indicates us the Commonwealth is not able to convert "image" into "reality". With this aspect this study does not aspire to examine only the emergence of the Commonwealth and the institutional structure change within the Organization. In addition this study discusses how to make the Commonwealth effective in world politics considering the current problems of it. Ensuring the integrity of the study and to better understand British politician's policy preferences on the Commonwealth, the history of England, the foundation of the British Empire and decolonization process are also among the topics of this study.
In the globalizing world, quality in communication and internationalization are important. Higher education institutions are taking the necessary steps for the standardization. Quality commissions are formed to maintain the education given at universities to a certain standard, and private organizations and associations are widely engaged in communication. The European Association for Communication Studies and Education operates internationally works on various themes in communication. In Turkey, Communication Research Association established to accredit programs related to communication education; evaluates training programs upon the application of institutions, carries out the training activities of those who will take part as evaluators in accreditation studies, assists programs in meeting the necessary criteria, and carries out joint projects with educational institutions. The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship of the keywords determined as quality, internationalization and communication through the example of ECREA and to compare these themes with ILEDAK themes. Information about the similarities and differences between the quality standards of communication education in Turkey and Europe is obtained. The method is thematic content analysis. The data presented within the program outputs determined for the communication basic areas on the official websites of ECREA and ILAD.
